Akhil steered through the air, merely dodging the constant claps.
"Nibo, calm your freaking ass down! It's just an insect!" Aria shouted from the side.
"The bite fucking stings!" Nibo shouted back, as he continued his chase.
Akhil kept dodging, and slowly he began to realize something.
His chaser was terribly slow! He could easily sense the attacks and dodge them before time.
'Why the heck am I running?' Akhil thought to himself, stopping in his track.
It was time to attack!
He turned around and with his wings flew straight towards Nibo.
Nibo stopped momentarily, stunned by the mosquito's audacity.
"You little pest!"
'You pack of food!' Akhil thought to himself as he attacked.
How could he run away from his food?
It was like chocolates suddenly growing arms and legs trying to fight a human.
In similar fashion, this was his food source!
He wouldn't dare run away!
Akhil drove round him in circles.
Nibo chased with his arms, flinging them around his head.
The constant buzzing sound was annoying.
Akhil noticed the large tree just behind him and an idea snapped into his head.
He attacked from the front, constantly pinching on Nibo's face.
"What the?! Die, you stupid pest!" Nibo moved back, trying to give a distance between the two to catch the little insect.
Just then—
THUNK!
He felt the back of his head hit hard against the tree trunk.
"Ouch!" He winced, rubbing the back of his head.
"Hahaha!"
A loud burst of laughter came from the side.
Nibo turned his head angrily to catch Aria laughing, her hands wrapping her stomach.
"It's not funny!" He felt embarrassed, anger flashing in his eyes as he looked at the little mosquito.
"I did warn you to let it be," Aria said as she walked up to the two.
She calmly placed her hands over her waist.
"Our time's also up, we should be going. We don't have much time on us."
Nibo looked at Akhil, who flew in the distance with a triumphant pose in the air.
At this point he felt—
'They should definitely have a hero called Mosquito Man!'
'If you want a round two, come on! I'm ready for you,' Akhil thought, feeling a pump of adrenaline through his tiny body.
Usually, he wouldn't act this way, but he didn't know if he was drunk on the blood he had absorbed.
He wanted to dive straight for the orc and fight.
Wanted to flex some of his mosquito muscles!
Besides, even the leg of a mosquito was meat.
Nibo, still agitated, took a deep breath to calm himself.
"Hmph!" He huffed, glaring at the little mosquito before turning his gaze back to the group.
He could hear that stifled laughter, which made him all the more embarrassed.
But he quickly swallowed his pride.
"We should get going," Nibo ordered, taking the lead as he walked forward.
'I should stick around their group... Just in case I need more blood,' Akhil quickly weighed the chances.
It wasn't impossible for the system to give him another task like that.
Right after taking a moment to arrange themselves, the group set off again.
This time Akhil followed right behind them while putting some distance between them.
He didn't want to test his luck.
While Nibo couldn't kill him the first time, he knew he had to keep a safe distance, even flying up in the air.
At the end, all it took was a single clap and he would be done for.
Painfully enough, he had thought of also gathering information from the group while he was with them.
But he couldn't hear a thing they were saying.
All he could feel was the vibration of their voices in the air.
Bored and having nothing else to do, he could only keep his eyes on the timer in front of him.
{15 Hours}
He had flown for so long, he could feel his thorax muscles aching.
'I need to rest,' Akhil thought to himself.
He felt his eyes grow heavier the more he flew, and he could barely keep his balance in the air.
Every second passed felt like an hour, and every minute even worse.
With the little energy he had left, he flew straight to the front of the group.
And then, he rested on top of the shoulder of one of the orcs.
As his six legs finally found footing after flying so long, he felt a wave of relief through his body.
But that relief was only short-lived as he felt the vibration in the air.
"Got him!" Nibo felt a wave of rush and excitement as he slapped his comrade's shoulder.
For some unknown reason, the little pest had followed them all the way from the forest.
And just hearing the annoying buzz from the distance kept Nibo on high alert.
He was patiently waiting for the right moment to attack.
And it finally surfaced.
He got the little pest!
Or so he thought—
Akhil flew off right in time, avoiding the hand, the air currents pushing him into disorientation.
"Fuck you!" He buzzed angrily.
He caught sight of the figure that tried to kill him.
While he couldn't see properly, he could make out figures from the heat patterns.
And from what he could see, it was the same figure that tried to kill him not too long ago!
"The audacity!" Akhil stared at the figure, marking him instantly.
'He wants a fight? I'll give him one,' he drove through the air.
While he had no strength to actually cause any harm, he knew the perfect technique that could get any human angry.
Buzz and run!
It was time to use his sacred art of the mosquito clan!
With a swift steer through the air, he drove straight for Nibo's ears.
'Take this!'
Akhil yelled in his mind as he darted straight for the ear.
ZZZZ!
SLAP!
ZZZZ!
SLAP!
Aria didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"You've got a new mosquito friend."
"Friend my ass!" Nibo replied, annoyed, as he waited patiently.
He had timed Akhil's forward and backward movement, and he was waiting patiently for the little runt to come again.
Akhil, oblivious to this, went straight for the ear again.
ZZZZ!
Just as he was about to leave, he saw the large red pattern coming for him.
"Fuck!"
