The man who entered looked to be in his early thirties. He wore a well-fitted suit, his grooming clean and crisp, his features sharp—refined but masculine.
"Sir Lau!"
Everyone in the Intelligence Section paused what they were doing and greeted him.
Smiling mildly, Inspector Andy Lau swept his gaze across the room. "How's prep?"
"Ready, Sir. We can move anytime," replied Luk.
"Good. This joint operation with the Serious Crime Squad is critical. Don't get careless."
"Understood, Sir!"
"Alright—let's link up with the Crime Squad."
The team grabbed their gear and followed Andy Lau out.
Fenric shouldered a case and fell in at the rear, eyes fixed on Andy Lau's back.
That's him. The mole. My target.
In the original plot, Andy Lau was a triad plant—but one who genuinely wanted to be a real cop. He just couldn't break free of Eric Tsang's control. After Eric Tsang's death, he finally got a chance at freedom… only to collide with fate and sink deeper.
Fenric had actually liked Andy Lau as a character.
But this was a mission. Sentiment wouldn't save points—or lives.

Because tonight's operation was highly sensitive, Superintendent Wong Chi-shing had set up a temporary command post in a residential building to avoid leaks.
When the Intelligence Section squad arrived, Superintendent Wong and the Serious Crime team were already on-site.
"Superintendent Wong!" Andy Lau greeted.
"Andy, good timing." Superintendent Wong gave a brief smile.
Seeing the full lineup, Andy Lau raised a brow. "What's with the live show? What kind of case warrants this?"
Superintendent Wong didn't answer directly. "Have everyone stage and get ready. We'll brief in thirty minutes."
"Understood." Andy Lau turned to coordinate prep.
The teams broke apart, each handling gear, comms checks, and field assignments.
Watching everyone bustle, Fenric smiled faintly.
He remembered this arc.
Tonight, Superintendent Wong intends to bag the triad boss Eric Tsang.
The coming clash isn't just police versus triad—it's the first real confrontation between the undercover agents on both sides. Signals, countersignals, double blinds… even Morse code.
In the original story, the result? Technically a draw. Eric Tsang escapes, but the police seize goods worth tens of millions.
"John! Don't zone out—lend a hand!" a colleague shouted.
"Coming!" Fenric replied—but his attention flicked past the boxes. Superintendent Wong was stepping outside.
Chance!
"I'll be right back—bathroom!" Fenric tossed over his shoulder and slipped out after him.
—--
Outside, Superintendent Wong stood alone, cigarette in hand, smoking hard to tamp down nerves. Months of setup—if tonight's net closed improperly, everything would fall apart.
"Superintendent Wong!"
He turned, surprised. "You're from Intelligence, right? Why aren't you prepping?"
Fenric stood stiffly at attention. "Sir, I have important information. I need to report it—to you, directly."
"Oh?" Suspicion edged into Superintendent Wong's tone. "What information?"
Fenric dropped his voice. "Last night I went out to watch a film. I saw Inspector Andy Lau at the cinema. He was acting suspiciously, so I tailed him. He met with Eric Tsang."
Superintendent Wong's expression hardened instantly. "Do you realize what you're saying? Accusing a superior of collusion is no joke."
Fenric didn't flinch. I'm not from this world anyway, he thought—but aloud he said, "Sir, I'm telling the truth. I also overheard part of their conversation."
Superintendent Wong studied him for a long moment. "What did you hear?"
"They were exchanging coded phrases. I caught the words 'Dad' and 'can't come home for dinner.' Sir, please take note—if Inspector Andy Lau suddenly uses those phrases during operation, that's a signal. It means he's warning someone."
Superintendent Wong's cigarette burned low. "What else?"
Fenric pretended to think, then added, "Eric Tsang said he's moving a major shipment tonight. A 'Taikoo' contact is coming into Hong Kong City. Transaction location: Long Bath Beach."
"..."
Of course, the part about Fenric personally witnessing Andy Lau meeting Eric Tsang was a lie.
But the code phrases and transaction location—those were real, straight from the movie's plotline.
He hadn't remembered all the details at first. But ever since transmigrating, Fenric's memory had sharpened dramatically. With a little focus, the scenes of Infernal Affairs resurfaced crystal clear.
Although he didn't know how, he intended to weaponize that knowledge.
