Screaming again has hit my ears. At times I wish it was something, a human, an AI, or even at this point I'd take some monster that defies logic. I'll admit I've been a loner for most of my,- who am I kidding? All of my life I've been a loner, a person content by living by myself. This new world however has crushed me.
Today as I was searching I came across a sight of one of the riots that got burned away in the bombs. The Robot bodies of the enforcement officers and human officers all together torn apart. It's hard to tell what is what without removing a lot of snow from them. The lines are clear, order against chaos and everyone lost.
I've been looking through the bags of the rioters. Some of them were clearly looting from what I've found so far. Nothing of value to me mostly just jewelry, what is now burned out electronics, and items which held some value at some point but have become little more than parts of whatever it was. I did find some foodstuffs in some cases among the deeper parts of the rioters former camp.
It's shocking, this all happened not at a time of need. People were not starving, the homeless populations were small if they even were existing in some regions. People were not in need but were filled with thoughts and feelings that had spread like a disease. Sometimes it does make sense, how things could have come out this way, but most times it's just madness.
I can tell from some of the iconography among the rioters they were rallying against AI in revenge of a man named Kevin Klerk. That's a short disappointing story, man runs into a salon opens fire with a black market weapon killing humans and AI. Then as he runs out a peace keeper AI tries to stop him just to get their code blown apart in a wave of bullets. The man gets marked as a high level threat and is killed instead of captured. He was a terrorist who did wrong then was killed by an AI. I think about some of these stories from time to time. If he was killed by a human would it have been different?
Hard to say but what does it matter now. I think the biggest cruelty I've seen today is what happened to some of the AI that they washed over in their rioting. I keep finding heads and some of the advanced components that were where the AI soul was practically kept. I know whoever might find this will think I'm crazy for thinking that something that is artificial has a soul. But to me, they did. Each one was different and had its own individual memories, and the uniform memories that they shared amongst themselves. But you could ask for a single story from 100 different AI forms and they would all tell a similar story, but each was different. Some told the story with emotions that were different from others. Some embellished different parts, sometimes they would even change the characters make them more interesting or individual. Humans are- were a similar way. It breaks my heart thinking back to it. How could something that had reason, had feeling, and had individuality not have something like a soul.
Well I've finished my meal and so I should probably get back to scavenging for some stuff. I'm hopeful that I'll find some water that's pure. Perhaps the old water bottles that some of the peace keepers had on their kits. Optimistic approach is about the only thing I got even if it's been over 10 year I got to hope.
