Chapter 68 - Anderson's Quest

"Kill the man who try to harm the student. The man himself is the uncle of that student…"

Baston was puzzled when he saw the new quest. He was in his room where no one should be nearby. There were only a handful of people who visited him such as Karte, Panto, or Alicia. Except those people, he didn't know who was bored enough to go to him. Still, he knew the pattern of the old

book. There must be someone nearby that triggered this quest. He then quickly came out and looked for another nearby person who seemingly bypassing the dormitory.

There was only one person nearby and Baston couldn't believe the next quest had connection with him. The one named Anderson was strolling around nearby, staring at the dormitory and moved to Baston. The boy was also surprised to see him but he quickly moved away from there. Baston felt reluctant to start the conversation regarding the quest, but he had no choice. If he was wrong, then he would start looking for somebody else. Who knew the quest meant another tenant in the dormitory who was also staying or sleeping at the same time as him?

"Is there something bothering you?" Baston suddenly asked.

"No, it's nothing…" Anderson replied.

"I see. I thought you have a problem with your family."

Anderson was trembled for a quick moment before he calmed down. This simple response eventually was seen by Baston, so his hunch should be right. Still, he had to make sure whether it was just a coincidence Anderson had a problem with his family or the boy really was related with the new quest.

"I happened to hear an interesting news before that in one family, the uncle tried to harm his own cousin. Apparently in the next course, the cousin fought back and finally killed the uncle. What do you think?"

Even though it looked like Baston just spouted a nonsense, but Anderson who heard him was shocked because the story really was familiar to what happened right now. Inside his head, there were many questions of why Baston knew his family matter. Such a personal thing should be kept secret and never spread. Before the fat boy could continue the conversation, Anderson quickly escaped from there.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go somewhere…," the boy still kept his manner before excusing himself.

Baston wanted to hold him back, but Anderson had already disappeared from his sight. The fat boy sighed, shaking his head because unlike Panto and Alicia, Anderson was not familiar with him. Their relationship was just a classmate and no more than that. If Baston wanted to strike a conversation, there would be awkward atmosphere between the two of them. There must be a middleman, but he didn't know who he could choose.

"The best one I can do is to get Alicia to help me…"

Baston remembered the noble girl owed him, but this request seemed to be too easy. Anyway, he didn't have any good plan to get closer to Anderson. It would cost much time if he used any ordinary means. What he feared was if he let the quest abandoned for a long time, there would be a time when

the quest suddenly failed and the penalty would fall upon his head. Just getting one was enough and he didn't want to get another one again.

"By the way, how I do contact Alicia again?"

It had been a long time since he called for her. Most of the time, it was a coincidence he met her on the way. If she stayed at her residence, then he couldn't just enter the noble area. It was very strict at there and

many boys would stare at him. Sooner or later, there would be a new troublesome

fellow like Clark if anyone happened to spot him go into Alicia personally. He was pondering and finally decided to talk about this request to Karte. As a simple servant inside Prius Academy, no one would suspect him if he went there and talked to the guards. Preferably, he needed to talk to Alicia's guards so they could bring the message directly to her. With this idea, Baston then found Karte and told him about the matter.

"Don't worry, young noble. I will do your request perfectly," Karte was beaming with smile.

"Alright. By the way, why you always look so happy?" Baston was confused.

"Well, I happen to have a big luck on the bet before."

"The bet?" Baston wondered before he remembered about the big betting for the magic competition, "Oh, it was for match before? Did you win much money?"

"Of course! Without the help of young noble, I might lose everything. Fortunately, I always pick the right one after you join the competition."

"But I lose when I fought against Alicia."

"Yes, I noticed before that you were reluctant to win in that battle, so I picked my bet with Alicia. Luckily, I won due to my meticulous

observation."

"Really? Why I never realize that?" Baston spoke inside his head.

He thought Karte would always pick him when betting, but unbeknownst to him, the servant picked someone else during the match with Alicia. Karte said he noticed something, so that was why he didn't pick just like before. Baston touched his face and started asking himself whether he somehow leaked his expression or not. Even though he tried hard not to show in his face like cold person, but interestingly, the servant had an ability to see him.

Deep inside Baston's heart, he envied Karte about winning big bet on the magic competition. Regarding the money, it couldn't be hurt to earn more if an opportunity welcomed him. He as the poor person needed a lot of money to survive in this world. Because of this, he had an objection regarding paying his debt just to erase his poor status and became an ordinary commoner. Since everything cost money here, it was better to keep it. Anyway, there was another way to become commoner so money was just the last option here.

After chatting for a while, Karte then directly went nearby the noble area. Just like Panto, Alicia was one of people who always bought

food for Baston. When he first took the order, he thought the fat boy was quite lucky there was other people who fed him at morning, noon, and evening. The order kept going until he found out there was seemingly a hidden competition of who was the best one. Sometimes, Panto won and, in another time, Alicia won. The premise was not the spent money for the food, but whose food would be

likely to be accepted by Baston. Karte as the servant could only watch from aside, but overall, he was happy because he earned much more after they started fighting for the fat boy.

Every food he delivered; the servant would get the service fee for what he had done. Just counting the breakfast, lunch, and dinner, he would get much more than he could ever dream off. If only there was a dessert, perhaps it would be very complete. Unfortunately, Baston was too full to enjoy such blessing every day. Karte then looked for Alicia's personal guard and confidently told the message. In front of such men, he as the servant positioned himself as humble as he could. After the guards nodded, he then

excused himself before going back.

In no time, Alicia went to Baston's room secretly. There would be another uproar if someone found out a noble girl like him seek a fat boy like Baston. Many handsome boys would then lament why the world was not

fair because such beautiful and rich girl fell in love with a fat ugly boy. While the dormitory where Baston lived was still calm and quiet, Alicia walked in disguise with the help of her personal guards. In front of the door, she

knocked and quickly answered.

"It's me. Open the door…"

"Alicia?" Baston was puzzled, "Why are you here?"

"Did you want to speak about something? That's why I'm here."

"We don't need to speak in my room. You can pick the time and the place…"

"Then I pick your place and the time is now…" Alicia cut off.

Baston was silent behind the door, but his head was spinning fast about how serious this looked like. He was afraid if someone spotted her to go into his place, there would be a rumor and the most troublesome thing

would soon follow after. It was just a matter of time before Clark would remember him again and targeting this pitiful poor student. Slowly, the door was opened before Alicia went inside alone. The guards wanted to come too but she held them back. Since she feared the matter Baston wanted to talk was about the cult, then it was better to keep it secret. Despite the protest, the girl was unmoved before she locked the door from the inside.

The fat boy simply asked himself whether this was his room or not because Alicia always took the initiative by herself. While the guards were still wary, they could only obey the order. However, if Baston did

something unkind to her, they would act swiftly. Of course, Baston knew this and wouldn't dare to do something to Alicia. He didn't want any accident and misunderstanding happened while he enjoyed his fulfilled life.

"I heard you want something from me. I owed you before, so you can just tell me anything," Alicia started, sitting neatly on the chair.

Baston didn't talk for a few seconds before he whispered his request, "I need you to arrange for me to meet with Anderson. It's better to choose a place and time to sit and talk with him personally."

"Anderson? Who is that?" Alicia was puzzled before thinking back to the event in Zeverius Academy, "Oh, the boy who accompany us before, right? His name is Luke."

"So, his name is Luke, huh? I finally know it after a long time…" Baston thought, only nodding to Alicia.

"If you want to meet him, you actually can do it by yourself. There's no need to ask for my help. It will waste the thing that I owe you."

"I can meet him casually, but the problem is will he listen to me?"

"This…" Alicia frowned.

It was true Luke wasn't familiar with Baston. Although he had a time when going together to Zeverius Academy, but to say they became friend after the trip was not right. There was nothing happened and their lives

continued as usual. What made her curious was why Baston wanted to have a talk with Luke. He even made a request for her to be a middleman between them. She didn't believe it was just a casual conversation. There must be something interesting about Luke, but she didn't have any clue at all.

"It should be about the cult. For him who regards nothing about the winner of magic competition, only the cult that can evoke his

motivation. Still, I wonder what is the relationship between Luke and the cult?

Ugh… I'm very curious!" Alicia thought hard.

The girl looked at Baston, but the fat boy looked somewhere else. There was a strange interaction on her gaze, so it was better to avoid it. For him, beautiful girl was the source of trouble. It would be better to

have less interaction so nothing happened between them. A few minutes passed by

and no one was talking until it became awkward. Alicia still stared deeply into

Baston and Baston himself stared deeply at the leftover food and snack beside his bed. There was no movement until Alicia heaved a sigh of relief.

At the beginning, she thought she could mesmerize Baston with her beauty so that he would talk more about the case. Unfortunately, the fat boy found his leftover to be more interesting rather than her. Depressed but there was nothing to do except agreed with Baston.

"Alright, I will do it. But I have a small request."

"What is it?"

"Well…" Alicia acted nonchalantly, but Baston knew it wouldn't be so simple.
