Chapter 32 - Fire And Water

"550,000 pounds…"

"600,000 pounds…"

"630,000 pounds…"

"650,000 pounds…"

The bidding was still going to continue. Despite the huge profit the auctioneer would get, he was also afraid to offend both of these 2 noble families. Each one of them had remarkable prestige, so there was no way

to side with one of them. The best everyone could do right now was to be neutral in front of them. Baston didn't care about their disputes over the ice bead, but he somehow heard everyone started to gossip around.

"Who do you think will win?"

"I don't know. Both of them are seemingly very influential."

"I know both of them. Their families come from legendary bloodline. Both of them have great element running in the family. There are ice and flare which constitutes a great part of their strength."

"Really? There are two of great elements here. I think it won't end in a good way."

"Certainly… As far as I know, the auctioneer won't dare to displease any one of them. Judging from the reaction of others, I'm pretty sure the auctioneer will just sell it to the woman who bids first in fixed price. As for the man, the auctioneer will need to compensate him by giving such a free item.

In this way, everyone will be satisfied."

"Exactly…"

Baston frowned when he listened the conversation. If what they said was true, then the money he would earn was going to be limited by this occurrence. He was elated at first after knowing the bidding was getting

higher, but from the auction's side, they would act to the best of their benefits so they wouldn't offend such troublesome guests. The fixed price might be accepted easily by the noble woman, but Baston as the seller clearly couldn't accept it. If he knew it would be like this, it would be better to just sell it at the specific market.

Rembrant knew this event was quite rare since everyone would never let go until the end when bidding. Still, he never expected such nobles would make a trouble in this auction. He also heard what other people said and inside his heart, it would likely happen for the best. The auction might be

supported by a noble, but there was a big disparity with the VIP upstairs. If not, the boss would soon reprimand them but until this time, there was no movement inside the auction itself. It meant they didn't dare to offend these noble families.

The 2 noble families were still arguing, but suddenly, there was a tremor from inside Baston's clothes. It should be a new quest and it must have a relationship of what he was into. The fat boy looked at the surrounding first to make sure no one would notice him before he opened his old book.

Precisely, the new quest was about what he was facing right now.

"Stop the argument between two noble families in the auction venue…"

Baston twitched his mouth because the quest right now was simply impossible. Every one of them didn't want to give up. The woman kept bidding higher while the man also kept disgusting her by increasing a little

bit. There would be no end until one of them chose to give up the bidding. In this case, Baston thought there was no way to stop their argument.

When he pondered hard, he furrowed his brow. The quest clearly stated to stop them in the auction venue. Did it mean that as long as both of them had agreement in this venue, it would already be considered good

enough? As for the outside, he didn't need to care about it. Even though so, he didn't know how to stop them. Just by his status as poor person or fallen noble in disguise, they would just put him aside first before continuing their

businesses.

Baston was still busy thinking about what the best plan for this quest before the bidding stopped entirely. It already reached a staggering amount of 930,000 pounds from the man upstairs. The woman stopped doing her bidding because she wanted to see whether the man would buy in this price or

not.

"Alright then, if you really want the ice bead, you can have it. I wonder if you have enough money to pay…" the woman sounded like giving up.

"I never thought I will win the bid, but because this thing is useless for me, let's take a step back. I will let you pay it so the ice

bead can be yours…"

"You're quite shameless. I thought you have a fiery temper here, but just a little money already scares you so much. Truly, the flare element on your bloodline is wasteful…"

"Humphhh, I'm just being lenient…" the man scoffed, "It's better than you with the ice element on your bloodline. The rigidity of your doing and thinking will make you stupid and can't act flexibly like us."

"What did you say?" the woman snarled, "You want to fight?"

"I'm only saying the truth, but if you don't want to accept it, then we can only fight to the end."

"Excuse me, venerable guests… Might I offer my opinion here?" the auctioneer finally said a word.

"No!!!" both of the man and woman said at the same time.

"Alright then…" the auctioneer smiled bitterly.

Even the auctioneer couldn't do anything, Baston also lost his hope to interrupt them normally. Since there was no way to mediate their argument, the only way to stop them was doing it abruptly. In this way, their

priority would be forcefully shifted. Still, he needed to bear the consequence. While everyone watched the show, Baston silently did his own magic with his old book.

Meanwhile, the woman had enough of the man. She suddenly went out from the VIP compartment, revealing herself in front of people. Her face looked young but she exuded a mature charm. There wasn't much expression on her right now because she only stared coldly at the other VIP room in front of her. Not long after she showed herself, the man also came out to welcome

him.

Different from the cold woman across, he displayed such arrogant attitude. There was kind of lingering fire in his surrounding. With

the fiery temper, he showed the woman that he wasn't afraid of her at all. At once, the atmosphere around seemed dangerous but people seemingly wanted to know more of them. They waited until the man spoke out first.

"Claire Versance, do you want to fight here?" the man glared at the woman, "Look at where are you right now. This place is full of ordinary people. If you dare to use your magic, you will be blacklisted forever from the auction anywhere."

"I know that, Teres Herbiens. I'm not a fool like you who can only act disgustingly in the auction. I'm sure if the news spread over,

your reputation will be dropped sharply. Also, I believe you will be hindered from the auction because your childish bidding. Not only you refuse to pay, you even found another excuse to avoid your responsibility. Really, your fiery temper is more like a joke here."

Teres could only stare hatefully since he wasn't good with words. His temper was usually too direct, making any disagreement to turn into a fight. It was different for the woman named Claire because she could use her words properly. She even could glare back coldly. Some men were mesmerized by

her beauty, but they didn't dare to stare at her for long time.

Each one of them didn't want to lose out, so they exuded a pressure at the center. If they really clashed out, many people would be hurt in this auction. The owner of the venue could only utilize several protections magic so that everyone wouldn't get affected. Rembrant and Panto focused on both of them while Baston was busy running his plan. Everyone didn't realize that a man was manifested out of nowhere behind the curtain. This gentleman walked confidently to the ice bead and simply took it before everyone noticed him.

"Why everyone looks at me? Just do your own business. I'm just here to take the ice bead with me…"

"Who are you?" both of Claire and Teres exclaimed.

"Me? People call me Joker," the man chuckled.

Without any warning, Claire and Teres unleashed their magic to the intruder. Luckily, Baston had already anticipated it and made the puppet disappeared. The podium was in shambles while the man named Joker was in no sight. Everyone quickly went awry when the magic exploded the front, making them terrified about their own safety. Once they regained their senses back, they quickly fled from the venue.

"Hurry up! Run!"

"Don't push me!"

"Help me! Help me!"

In this panic situation, both of Claire and Teres nodded and quickly sent a message to the other members. Immediately, everyone from both sides stopped the people around to rush out. Surely, the people complained

about their behaviors.

"What are you doing? You hinder us from escaping!"

"Yeah, you want us to die here?"

"I will inform this matter to the royalty. Let's see if you can act impudently from now on!"

Claire looked at Teres which the man inhaled before shouted loudly, "SILENCE, EVERYONE!!!"

The voice reverberated harshly in everyone's ear, making all of them lose their balance. Even Baston had a hard time to stand and he had to sit down before shaking his head. When everyone was forced to calm down, it was Claire's turn to speak what he had in her mind.

"Everyone, don't go rush in panic. We don't know whether the outside will be more dangerous too or not. For your own safety, it's best to stay where you are. Our team members will take care of you right now."

Several people from both of families quickly surrounded everyone, making a protection magic circle. As soon it created a dome, everyone found out that they felt safer inside this circle. Few of people wanted to get out, but considering what Claire explained, they first needed to look for situation first. Immediately, Baston grinned because he had an idea over what the woman said at present. With a flick of his finger, he made the suspicious Joker appeared again in different place. Since he had 2 puppets now, he could made Joker looked like to switch place even though it was just a simple trick.

"Smart… Very smart…" the man with a face of clown slowly showed his face in front of everyone, "I thought I can see blood this time, yet someone already stop you ahead of time. If only you all rush to the outside, the explosion of your body will be awesome to see."

Joker tried hard to smirked evilly, terrifying everyone around. They never thought the man wanted to lure them into death. Fortunately, the two noble wizards had clarity over their minds. With their carefulness, they ordered everyone here to stay. Many people started to be afraid of Joker, including Rembrant and Panto. Baston himself played his role as their guardian. He moved himself in front of them in order to get better view.

"Get back behind me…" Baston whispered.

"But, young master Baston. It's very dangerous…" Rembrant replied, but he was quickly interrupted by his son.

"Father, just do what Baston said. He might not look like it, but he's a strong wizard. Even in junior class, he's the strongest among

everyone."

"What? Really? Why you didn't talk about it before?"

"I just don't want you to exaggerate it. Baston doesn't like glamour treatment. He prefers simple one in the end. If I told you, I believe you already will pay for the best inn here," Panto chuckled sheepishly.

"Well, you're not wrong…"

Baston heard it and he also agreed with Panto. It wasn't bad to stay at the best one, but if it was located far away, then it would be

better to pick the closest one. Anyway, he had to make sure he played this drama well right now. Who knew that he might have a chance to give both Claire and Teres a lesson to remember.
