~Darius's POV~
"Taytana," I let out a deep sigh.
"Darius," She drawls, then sighs. "You don't have to do anything alone. We're with you. You know that, right? There are many of us who would literally die for you."
"I keep telling him that," Leo mutters without looking up, still grinning at his screen.
I shoot him a glare, but he doesn't even flinch.
Turning back to Taytana, I give her a polite, practiced smile. "Like you said, I'm married now. And I've always been straight, just… not interested in relationships. But maybe this is what it took. Everything that's happening, it's bringing my family back together. There's nothing wrong, Taytana. And I do appreciate your loyalty."
Her expression softens, the tension in her shoulders easing. She believes me or at least wants to.
And I'm not lying. I am glad my family is close again.
Glad I married Abigail.
But more than anything, I can't wait to go back to her.
The door suddenly slams open.
