The world was burning.
A massive figure was scorching the earth with every step.
Its body was fire, with a crown of obsidian that seemed to drink the world's light.
"Ahahaha," a horrible sound came from the monster, sounding like the wailing of thousands of people being consumed by fire.
Its face was hidden by smoke, two small suns were its eyes, and an abyss was its mouth.
It was smiling.
Its right hand held a huge sword, blazing with golden flames, which it raised.
The sky broke.
From the cracks, thousands of beings peered out.
A war horn echoed in the distance.
The beasts entered the world with shrieks and howls of ecstasy.
The entire sky was covered with them.
Their bodies were black, and from them emerged wings of red bones.
They were wrapped in copper-colored armor, worn and dirty.
"Ahahaha!" The monsters also laughed, but it was a sound like dogs cackling.
Someone gripped a weapon tightly.
Then...
The earth trembled.
Humanoid figures in black armor rode to the attack on dead horses.
Their numbers? As many as the sand in the desert.
Their objective was a city of gold, with walls of glory and a gigantic tree in the center.
Its guardians wore magnificent-looking armor, all with legendary weapons ready for combat.
Then...
A roar, primordial and wild, defied reality.
It emerged from the deepest depths.
A beast whose body covered the world, with a desolate breath, eyes full of weariness, and an elongated shape.
Thunder echoed in the distance.
Wolves were howling.
This is the end of times...
And he...
He stood between the world's end and the city of gold.
In one hand, a spear whose blade shone with a golden glow.
His body was covered in wounds, his breath labored, and thousands of corpses lay around him.
...
...
…
He came to reality when someone accidentally bumped his shoulder.
"Sorry," the stranger said without even looking at him.
"It's okay..." He whispered, taking a moment to realize where he was standing. "Right... new school."
He was in front of an imposing academy; several students surrounded him, all heading inside.
The large central building made him lose himself in his thoughts.
"Hey..." A girl with black-rimmed glasses tapped his shoulder. "You need to move. You can't stay in the same spot."
She left without saying anything else. The boy kept looking at the building until he sighed.
The girl was right.
"Well..." the boy took a moment to look around before entering. "This is my new beginning..."
