Chapter 50 - 50

I hope you can find a solution, otherwise we'll have to work under the waterfall."

Wang Kai also knew that these water currents were not just simple water currents, and the pressure inside was quite high. If they gambled, it might cause these four entrances to collapse.

"Don't worry, nothing can stump the genius Tony Stark. I will find a way, but I need some tools."

Tony walked around, needing equipment for analysis. Even if he couldn't block the water flow, he would redirect it according to his instructions.

The group returned to the surface. No one could tell that beneath them lay a huge golden city. Wang Kai figured another substantial sum would be added to his account. He wondered if he could keep the golden city all to himself; it wasn't Freemason property, after all.

After coming out, Tony quickly started working on the computer, using drones to scan the surrounding area to create blueprints. He also ordered Jarvis to prepare new tools, as they hadn't known what they would need before coming here and had only prepared some common tools, which were now lacking.

The new tools Tony needed arrived that day. After all, this wasn't a hidden place. If they were slow, others would easily discover it, and then they would have to share the spoils.

Tony used underwater reconnaissance equipment to find the water inlet. As long as they blocked it from there, the water source could be shut off without any mechanisms below.

Following the coordinates, they quickly found the water inlet deep in the lake. Tony released a small robot that expanded and unfolded into a shield near the inlet, blocking it. The enormous pressure slightly dented the shield, but the shield was pressed in even deeper, completely sealing the inlet.

Soon, the people observing the water flow below sent a message that the water flow had stopped, and the water level inside was close to being dry.

Tony excitedly high-fived Wang Kai. Next was the excavation work, which Wang Kai couldn't help with. Wang Kai decided to go down, take a few pieces of gold, and then go back, only needing to get money from Tony in the end.

Knowing Wang Kai's decision, Tony was unwilling. Why was he doing everything himself? But Wang Kai rendered him speechless with one sentence. Wang Kai asked Tony which of them could mobilize more manpower and get more benefits from the government, and he was willing to take a smaller cut.

Tony couldn't argue with Wang Kai's reasoning, so he could only watch Wang Kai and Skye drive off in his car for a road trip while he stayed behind to clean up the mess.

Finding the golden city wasn't Wang Kai's mission for this vacation; it was just a side trip. Wang Kai and Skye's real plan was to take a road trip and drive to California. Skye had never been to California, and neither had Wang Kai. Both were full of anticipation.

America's railway construction was already very backward. Before Wang Kai transmigrated, he often saw articles written by online editors about how Americans envied China's high-speed rail. Although there was some exaggeration, it proved that America's railways were indeed very old, mostly used for freight. Americans preferred to fly for long distances, and if they weren't in a hurry or wanted to relax, they would choose a road trip.

On the road, Skye had already abandoned her computer, hugging Meow Meow and lying by the car window to admire the scenery outside. Although they were in the Midwest, and America was mostly desert and wasteland, it was still much better than New York, where all you could see were cars and people. Occasionally seeing small animals in the wilderness was even more interesting.

Road trips in America were still very convenient. Many highways had gas stations and convenience stores nearby. Although they were old, they could buy enough supplies and fuel.

Wang Kai and Skye made do with various snacks and convenience foods, only eating well when they reached a town and taking a bath in a hotel. No wonder so many people seemed several years older after a road trip.

Wang Kai's route was from South Dakota, through Wyoming, across Utah and Nevada, to San Francisco, and then south to Los Angeles.

Because the roads were clear and there weren't many vehicles, and the occasional ones were large trailers, the speed could be very fast. In two days, they had traveled more than half the distance.

"Skye, there's a gas station ahead. We can get out and rest for a bit. See if there's anything we need to replenish. Let's try to reach San Francisco tonight."

Seeing a gas station ahead and noticing the fuel gauge was almost empty, Wang Kai said.

"Okay, sitting in the car is really exhausting, even more tiring than sitting in front of the computer."

After two days of travel, Skye had lost the initial excitement and only felt deep fatigue.

Arriving at the gas station, it was quite dilapidated, but fortunately, everything worked. Wang Kai refueled the car while Skye took Meow Meow to buy food and drinks.

"Have you bought everything?"

After Wang Kai finished refueling, he waited by the car for Skye to return. Soon, he saw Skye coming out with a bag, with Meow Meow following behind.

"I've bought everything. Let's go. It's too dirty and messy here. The owner also looks like a character from a horror movie. This place makes me uncomfortable."

Skye said. Hearing Skye's words, Wang Kai turned to look at the convenience store behind the gas station. Through the dirty windows, he saw the middle-aged man inside. His appearance was indeed unappealing, wearing dirty clothes, with unkempt facial hair and messy hair, which didn't make a good impression.

"Don't be so nervous. There aren't that many perverted killers. You're scaring yourself. Even if we encounter a perverted killer, do we need to be afraid?"

Wang Kai said as he got into the car. Movies are just movies. According to the way they kill in movies, the American population would have plummeted long ago. Besides, the police in reality aren't that stupid. So many people disappearing without any reaction? The American public isn't that easy to fool. They'll protest at the slightest thing, and the police are public servants.

Wang Kai remembered seeing an American satirical horror movie before he transmigrated. A group of young people went on a picnic, and they scared themselves into thinking they had encountered two perverted killers on the road. In the end, it was all misunderstandings, and these young people kept getting themselves killed one after another, satirizing those perverted killer movies. Wang Kai didn't care about perverted killers unless they were also superpowered. Otherwise, coming in front of him would just be suicide.
