Chapter 11 - 11

"Wang Kai, Jimmy, it really is you two."

In the midst of the hustle and bustle, another "acquaintance" interacted with Wang Kai and Jimmy.

"Hey, Peter, what brings you here?"

Jimmy, who was busy collecting money, greeted the newcomer. Wang Kai leaned out to take a look and finally saw the first superhero he had encountered in this world.

Peter Parker, the legendary Spider-Man, although it seems he hasn't become that superhero yet. Peter Parker is one of the more famous superheroes in the Marvel world, and what's even easier for Chinese people to remember is the saying, "The rich rely on technology, the poor rely on mutation." Peter Parker is the representative of the poor, and Tony Stark is the representative of the rich.

Although Peter Parker is a superhero, Wang Kai doesn't particularly like Peter Parker's abilities. Besides being able to swing around high up and being a bit stronger, with some spider-sense, there's nothing particularly special.

"Peter, what brings you here today? How about trying our product?"

Wang Kai handed over a serving of Three-Egg Shaomai to treat Peter, considering they were classmates.

"I plan to submit something to the newspaper, so I came to take some photos. Don't mind me, just continue what you're doing. I'll just take some photos."

Peter said. Besides being a top student, Peter's greater interest was photography. He carried a camera with him every day, taking interesting photos and sending them to the newspaper to earn some pocket money.

"Alright then, we're a bit busy. We'll chat after we finish up here."

Jimmy said. After all, birds of a feather flock together. Although they didn't usually interact much, they were both part of the school's disadvantaged group, so they should help each other.

Peter stood aside and began taking pictures. Besides the food truck, there was the long queue of people, and the Three-Egg Shaomai that Wang Kai had just given him. Peter couldn't understand what was so delicious about such a small thing. But when he started tasting it after taking the photos he wanted, Peter also fell. No one would hate delicious food, except for those with anorexia.

When all the ingredients were sold out, those who hadn't bought any let out a wail and then slowly dispersed. Wang Kai and Jimmy began to pack up, and Peter also came over. He wanted to get some exclusive material, otherwise, with the TV station already having interviewed them, his photos and articles wouldn't have anything eye-catching.

"Wang Kai, can I do an exclusive interview with you? You know, sometimes exclusivity is more marketable."

Seeing Wang Kai and Jimmy packing up, Peter came over to help and then asked.

"No problem, we're classmates. Just as long as it's not too private, and it's best not to publish my photo. You know, Chinese people are generally more reserved. Otherwise, everything else is fine."

Although Wang Kai didn't think much of Spider-Man's abilities, Spider-Man was ultimately good and not evil, so Wang Kai didn't feel any aversion.

"Alright then, let's talk about your cooking. How do you make such simple ingredients so delicious? There aren't any high-end ingredients used at all, it's truly amazing."

Peter said. In their eyes, only using the most precious truffles, caviar, and top-grade steak could create the best food. But Wang Kai's shaomai didn't use any of these.

"It's simple, that's the charm of Chinese cuisine. Chinese culture emphasizes the five elements and the balance of yin and yang. Whether it's traditional Chinese medicine, which Westerners consider witchcraft, or cuisine, it emphasizes the combination of ingredients. By combining different ingredients, you can stimulate richer flavors. This is Chinese culture. If you have the opportunity, you can study it more."

Although he used to watch Japanese anime, Korean variety shows, and American movies, Wang Kai was still proud to be Chinese. China's brilliant civilization was far beyond what other countries could compare to.

"Wow, this is truly amazing food. Can you teach me a few tricks?"

Peter quickly wrote down what Wang Kai said in a notebook.

This time, he really had something to write about.

"Of course, I can teach you a few simple and easy Chinese dishes, such as scrambled eggs with tomatoes, which you all like to eat…"

Wang Kai told him two or three easy-to-make dishes that even Americans should be able to easily handle.

Peter buried his head and took notes frantically. This time, the payment for the article should be no problem. Whether it was published in the food column or the exotic customs column, it would be able to attract some attention.

After asking a few more questions, Peter expressed his gratitude to Wang Kai, thanking Wang Kai for helping him so much. Wang Kai just smiled. He thought, 'After you become Spider-Man, thank me properly then.'

Having met Peter in advance didn't have any impact on Wang Kai's life. Wang Kai still lived his life as usual. The world was still relatively peaceful. The Hulk, who had pants that never ripped, hadn't appeared yet. Tony Stark was still maintaining a high frequency of changing girlfriends. The old antique Captain America didn't know if he had been dug out of the ice yet. Hydra was still hiding in the shadows.

People all over the world were still living in ignorance. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but some people didn't think so. This was due to the anti-government sentiment of Westerners. They always felt that the government was hiding things from the public and that they must have many unspeakable secrets behind the scenes, so there were many hackers.

Jimmy was one of these hackers, but Jimmy wasn't so cynical yet. He just liked exploring and seeing strange things.

"Kai, look quickly, those mutants have appeared again. The government will definitely capture them and dissect them again."

At night, when Wang Kai stayed at Jimmy's house again, Jimmy was watching various decrypted files on the computer.

"Isn't this normal? Although those officials say that mutants are dangerous, they are very envious of mutants and want to obtain their abilities. Capturing them and dissecting them for research is too normal."

Wang Kai glanced at it and said nonchalantly. Jimmy might not know, but Wang Kai knew that the government's research on mutants had never stopped. After World War II, they were even more cruel to mutants to an unimaginable extent, even if the mutants had once served the government.

Even Bolivar Trask, the founder of Trask Industries, had researched the mutant-killing Sentinel robots, which were invented after dissecting countless mutants. If these things were made public, even those in society who opposed mutants would be terrified.

"That's right, we should expose these things. This Rising Tide organization is really too powerful, able to find so much hidden information."

Jimmy also agreed with Wang Kai's statement, and then his hands quickly typed on the keyboard. It was hard to imagine how his bread-like hands could be so flexible.
