The dark ceiling above was cracking with rays of sunlight, the golden flower rose towards its beloved destination, the skies, waking up mankind, another day of hard was on the way
Through the streets carriages broth interest to themselves from the people, they carried the banner of the Waster house, a mountain of golden rivers, representing the riches these parts held in the palm of their hand
Torden standing upon the castle gates, the high walls that surrounded his family's house, the irons detached themselves from the ground allowing entry
After going inside the carriage that lead way throw opened, from it stepped the younger brother of Torden, Fraymon, his armour had some scars over it, some sides bent, other were covered in blood, he seemed proud of it removing his helmet, revealing his dark red hair
"How are you, Lord brother" a sound from behind Fraymon's ear came forward, looking back knowing who it was from, Torden coming down stairs
"You're late" Torden said shaking his brother's hand
"You know how it is, responsibility is tiring" replied Fraymon
"Oh yeh, our brave little warrior slaughtering the very dangerous people that are threatening our livestock, Bandits" said Torden
Fraymon refused to fall defeated so he replied " How was you vacation, brother"
"No better then yours, I see your sword's pretty clean" replied Torden
"Same can be said to your armour" said Fraymon staring behind Torden's shoulder at the hanged armour
they stared each other in the eye, grinning at the situation
"That was tuff I got to say" said Fraymon as they laughed it off
"Well you know, it is all experience and skill" replied Torden
As they walked towards the house they continued chatting
"So you got ambushed by a main force or?" asked Fraymon
" I myself don't know really, it all happened suddenly, it is a blessing that I am still alive" said Torden
"Bad luck for you brother, all I had to do is hang some thieves upside down" said Fraymon
"So you are the one who went on a vacation" said Torden opening the door, inside centring the hall their mother and father were talking to each other
Their father a black haired man in his 40s, their mother a red haired women in her 30s
Their mother noticed them and with a smile from ear to ear she spread her hands saying
"Welcome home!"
"Mother!" Fraymon said walking towards her, he meant to hug her, noticing the blood he was covered in she stepped aside as he tripped and fell on his face
"Clean yourself first, son" lady Elara, their mother said looking down at Fraymon
"Why visit so late Torden? I heard you came back yesterday" she continued
"That," pointing at his brother with his gaze Torden said "That might have a hand in it"
"Come on here" as she hugged him, he tried to give back the same treatment but felt awkward
His mother pulling back from the stiff hug she said "What's with the stiff shape? you think growing a beard pulls you out of these situations?"
"Maybe next time" Torden replied
"Next time? It wont have been so nice if I said this the day you were born" Lady Elara moving a side
Going up to his father they shacked hands like bushiness partners as Lord Kailer said
"Your not, injured"
"Yes, I am in pretty good health" replied Torden
"That is, nice" Lord Kailer replied
silence...…..
Lady Elara looked at him from behind Torden's shoulder, her face drenched in disappointment
"awkward..." said Fraymon, Lady Elara stepped up trying to fix what she could
"What your father means, is that he happy to see your morals up and to see you in good shape" Lady Elara said standing beside their father
"Yes, that is it" Lord Kailer said, he had no emotions on his face he whole time except for awkwardness
"Did you finish the family reunions I wasn't invited to?" said Fraymon standing up, he got some help from Torden
When he stood straight he said "So? when will we march forth to the capital joining in the festival?"
"We will move by the dawn of tomorrow" said Lord Kailer "The merchants who wish to go make profits shall be accompanied by us, making it a safe route for everyone"
"Wait? we aren't going to sail across the river? how can we pass the split waters without boats?" said Fraymon
Lord Kailer seemed angry at him for some reason, Fraymon confused said "What???" looking around him
"Someone wasn't paying attention in history class" said Torden
"What does that have to do with it" said Fraymon
Lord Kailer spoke and said "Be ready for tomorrow" he walked outside the house
Torden put his hand on Fraymon's shoulder "You are now declared, uneducated" as he went upstairs
Fraymon confused looked at his mother who with a beautiful drawn smile said "Go shower" before she two left him alone in there, staring his sides not understanding what he missed
Lord Kailer staring his father's portrait whilst standing all by himself in the dark, the painting had a cold look, the eyes were as if staring at an animal, Lord Kailer wasn't angry, nor was he sad, he just looked at it as if blaming him a situation he chose not to fix
Lady Elara like to draw using different coloured silk, she made flowers and spiders, men and women, skulls and sunrises, she did not care as long as she found it beautiful, she was making a knife this time
Fraymon just went out the shower, his dark reddish long hair covered his face as he walked by the window, he stopped to stare up at the moon for a moment before continuing
Torden sat by the wall, remembering the forest one more time, but he seemed to notice something was weird, for a second e thought the trees moved, giving no more thoughts to it he went back going to sleep
Before dawn almost everybody was ready, tens of carriages stood still awaiting Lord Kailer to lead the march, after his carriage along side the horses that held his knights and guards came, the Waster house moved forward
