Chapter 0: The World That Now Binds My New Fate

This is a world connected to the realm of monsters—creatures whose origins no one has ever discovered. It is completely different from the world I came from.

I grew up in an orphanage after my parents died in an accident. I grew up alone, dreaming of becoming a game developer and creating the most famous game in the world. But rejection became the greatest reason for my failures. I lived in a world where the weak were born without a chance.

One day, on my way back, I saw an old woman crossing the street. A reckless car, ignoring the traffic light, sped toward her. I don't know why I moved so fast, but I pushed her out of the way with all my strength before the car could hit her—even though I knew I'd get hurt. They say for every life saved, another must be given.

I was the one who got injured. I knew there was no point in staying in that world any longer, and I decided to drift into eternal sleep. But when I opened my eyes, I found myself in a hospital in a world I had never seen before.

A world with a strange system and things straight out of fantasy. People with extraordinary powers who fought monsters. The entire system revolved around them—they were called "Hunters."

My name is Zokaro. Don't ask me if I'm a Hunter; I'm new to this world. Here, I suddenly had a family—a mother, a father, and a brother—after a life of being an orphan. Yet I still felt like an ordinary person, below everyone else's level.

All I know is that I'm a student at Rubman University, in the country of Ishkalia, in the city of Newsel. My major is Core Weapon Engineering. Even my brain can't fully grasp it—the program focuses on designing and mechanically engineering core crystals, combining them with forging and movement.

Since entering this world, I've felt ignorant, as if I'd never studied or gone to school at all. I now live with my family in an apartment in the Kalisfor district, on the tenth floor.

Everyone in my family is classified as a Hunter. Even after crossing into this world, nothing about me changed—my features, my age, even my name. It's as if this is a parallel world to mine, but completely different.

That's why I decided to fight in this world and succeed, unlike my failed life before—even if I'm still below everyone else's level.

I'd rather live as an ordinary human than as a Hunter; that profession could easily cost me my life, especially when entering those dome-like gates. In this world, everything can change in an instant. When a blue light appears on the ground near buildings or streets, everyone must prepare and get as far away as possible. After twelve minutes, a brilliant light engulfs the area in a strange energy that forms a dome.

From what I've gathered about this world, when a gate on the ground transforms into a dome, everything inside it changes into a separate world. No one inside can leave; their fate is uncertain unless they wait for Hunters to rescue them—or face death.

Monsters emerge from the glowing gate and spread within the dome's "Dungeon." If Hunters fail to defeat them, then after twenty-four hours the dome collapses, everything inside vanishes, and the monsters spill out into the entire area, destroying everything.

I kept wondering: how would I survive in this world?

Then one day, I encountered a massive monster—proof that it had escaped from a "Dungeon Dome" after the Hunters failed. That was supposed to be my end. I had no powers, and the worst part was realizing I was failing for the second time in my life.

But then a system appeared… its name was Ratio. The same name as the game I once designed. But this system began throwing things at me I didn't understand. Soon after, I lost consciousness and had no idea what was happening until I woke up again in the hospital.

Everyone was around me—my mother and father—but things were different. A screen appeared, visible only to me. Its name was "Ratio," and it embraced me as a warrior, promising to raise my level to the highest heights.
