Chapter 34 - Thrones of Brothers

EXT. UNITED EARTH SUMMIT – GENEVA – DAY

The assembly chamber is a cathedral of cameras and flags. Billions watch as the man called Gabriel steps onto the central dais. White light halos him, though no spotlight follows.

Narration: No one knew if he was human, angel, or something beyond. But when Gabriel raised his hand, every voice in the hall fell silent.

Gabriel: Leaders of Earth... and the billions beyond these walls.

His voice is calm, carrying like a hymn across the planet.

Gabriel: Your fears are justified. The one hundred chosen now fight a war in a domain beyond your understanding. Their courage is humanity's last bargaining chip.

He pauses, eyes sweeping the hall with quiet gravity.

Gabriel: Do not despair. Stand united. Protect your world until the final trumpet sounds.

Applause erupts—thunderous, desperate. Cameras flash. Gabriel bows once, serene.

INT. UNKNOWN DOMAIN – GABRIEL'S OFFICE – NIGHT

A blink, and he is gone from the podium. Reality folds with a soundless shiver.

Gabriel materializes inside a vast chamber of dark glass and cold starlight—his private domain.

The cheers of the world fade into a silence so deep it vibrates like a heartbeat.

He exhales, shoulders loosening.

Gabriel: softly Ahhh... mortals and their endless applause.

He walks toward a panoramic window showing Earth like a blue jewel.

Gabriel: My soldiers bleed in the pit below, yet they shine brighter than I dared hope. Fear tempers them. Pain perfects them. a faint laugh Even I am impressed.

The chamber darkens, not with surprise but with inevitability.

Two presences enter, their arrival neither sudden nor hidden.

First, a man of quiet authority steps forward. Silver eyes glow with restrained light, his human guise tailored with precise simplicity.

Michael: You speak of perfection while bending every rule we swore to uphold.

Gabriel does not turn immediately. He lets the words settle like dust.

Gabriel: Michael. I wondered how long before you came to scold me.

He finally faces him, a small, knowing smile.

Gabriel: Right on time.

Another figure walks in from the opposite side—measured, deliberate.

A black coat, a gaze as deep as unlit stars. His presence folds the air itself.

???: And I, of course, complete the circle.

Neither Gabriel nor Michael flinch. All three regard one another as if this meeting were carved into the fabric of existence.

Gabriel: So the prodigal joins us. I assumed the void still held your interest.

???: Interest is eternal, brother. Opportunity is rare. Tonight, it felt... appropriate.

Michael: cold Appropriate? Gabriel breaks the covenant. You remain absent for ages. And I am left to hold the walls alone.

Gabriel chuckles, low and measured.

Gabriel: Walls? You call them walls? They are paper screens against a storm. I act because silence invites extinction.

Michael: And action invites revelation. Communicating with the Chosen inside the Domains is forbidden. The demons already suspect interference.

???: smiling faintly Perhaps that is what he wants. A premature war. Chaos breeds choice.

Gabriel's smile thins but never fades.

Gabriel: Chaos breeds clarity. Mortals require both.

Michael steps closer, the faint shimmer of unmanifest wings rippling in the dark.

Michael: Go back to your appointed place before the Thrones notice.

His voice sharpens.

Michael: Before the demons confirm what you are.

The third brother tilts his head, amused.

???: And if he doesn't? Would you raise your blade against him, Michael? Against me?

Michael: I would do what must be done.

Gabriel leans against the glass, eyes fixed on the spinning Earth below.

Gabriel: Then the game proceeds exactly as it should.

The chamber vibrates with a pressure older than stars, but none of them move.

Three brothers—each a different shadow of eternity—stand as if the universe itself expected this conversation.

Narration: No revelation. No surprise. Only the quiet certainty of powers that had waited too long to meet again.

Michael: Return, both of you. Before the next trumpet reveals more than the mortals can bear.

None answer. Only the silent hum of the void remains.

To be continued...
