Chapter 629 - Chapter 628: I’m Just a Scientist

"That thing is extremely dangerous!"

While the Ultramen were still processing what it meant that the Genegarg had lost one of its fins, Z suddenly stepped forward.

"I'll handle it. I'll be back!"

After saying this to Zero, Z shot into the sky with a whoosh, leaving behind a Z-shaped trail of light.

"Hey—Z!"

By the time anyone reacted, he was already out of sight.

"Running off alone without a Z-Riser… that guy really is a one-third, half-baked Ultraman."

Zero condensed light in his hand, forming a blue Z-Riser, and sighed helplessly.

"Go after him, Zero."

At that moment, Ribut stepped forward and spoke calmly.

"The Ultra League's partner recruitment can be handled by the Galaxy Rescue Force and the Tri-Squad."

"Sorry to trouble you all," Zero said apologetically.

"That guy keeps calling himself my disciple—I can't just ignore him."

With that, Zero turned to leave, preparing to chase after Z.

"Wait, Zero!"

Grigio suddenly called out and immediately cast Grigio Heal on him.

The value of a support-type Ultraman was fully demonstrated in that instant—Zero's energy surged back to full, his stamina completely restored.

"Support types really are overpowered,"

Yuzhou, now reverted to his Multi Type, muttered from the side as he raised his thumb in approval.

Then, without warning, Grigio turned around and cast Grigio Heal on Yuzhou as well.

Instantly, Yuzhou felt invigorated, his physical condition restored to peak form.

However, his internal energy had not recovered much.

After all, Grigio's healing focused more on vitality than raw energy output—the rest would have to regenerate naturally.

"Thank you, Grigio,"

Yuzhou and Zero said simultaneously.

Although Yuzhou did not quite understand why Grigio had healed him as well, he certainly did not object to the refreshing sensation.

Zero nodded, spun around, and a blue cape materialized behind him. With another whoosh, he took off into the sky in pursuit of Z.

Yuzhou had no intention of following.

After bidding farewell to the others, he opened a spatial passage and sent Cosmos, Dyna, and Zero—now separated from Saga—back to their original timeline.

"If a being like Tartarus exists in that dimension," Zero said thoughtfully as they prepared to part, "then in our timeline, there may also be a Tartarus—quietly plotting a massive conspiracy of his own."

"That makes a lot of sense," Cosmos nodded in agreement.

Dyna also felt Zero's reasoning was sound.

"…I see."

Yuzhou fell into contemplation.

If parallel counterparts existed in every timeline, then Tartarus should logically have such counterparts as well.

Or—

Was Tartarus a being that existed outside of time itself?

If that were the case, did the Absolutians as a whole reside beyond all timelines?

Perhaps within that golden domain Tartarus controlled.

"Maybe one day, I'll be able to open a domain like Tartarus's as well."

With that thought, Yuzhou chose not to dwell further.

After all, every timeline had a Land of Light and Ultramen to protect it.

If another Tartarus truly existed, they would find a way to deal with him.

Back in the main timeline, Yuzhou returned to the Land of Light.

He headed straight to the Space Science Bureau and found Hikari, who was still at work.

"Hikari, were the losses serious this time?" Yuzhou asked as soon as he arrived.

"Ah, Tiga," Hikari replied, greeting him.

"Genegarg stole a new Z-Riser and some medals, but overall, the losses weren't too severe."

"I'm more concerned about the danger," Yuzhou said seriously.

"Z-Risers and Ultra Medals contain immense power. If they fall into the wrong hands, the consequences could be disastrous."

"Hikari, no offense," Yuzhou continued bluntly, "but the Land of Light's security is still far too weak."

"That thing is huge. It just charged in—and no one stopped it?"

"Tiga," Hikari said helplessly, "it's not that we didn't try. We simply couldn't beat it!"

"I'm just a scientist. Where would I get that kind of combat power?"

Yuzhou: "..."

He did not believe a single word of that.

Just this time alone, Hikari had cut off one of Genegarg's fins.

And now he was claiming to have no combat ability?

What kind of interstellar joke was that?

"Alright, Hikari, you can stop explaining,"

Seeing Hikari about to continue, Yuzhou cut him off.

"So—where's Genegarg's fin?"

Yuzhou scanned the room, but saw no sign of it.

"Oh, I studied it a bit and turned it into a Monster Medal,"

Hikari said, pulling a medal out from nowhere.

Engraved on it was the image of Genegarg, the Cosmic Ferocious Shark.

"…Why would you make a monster medal?" Yuzhou asked, puzzled.

"It has some collectible value," Hikari replied matter-of-factly.

So this was it—

Hikari had already started selling merchandise.

Through a spatial vortex, Yuzhou finally returned to his own world.

The events of Galaxy Fight 2 had more or less concluded, and based on the vortex's long-standing habit, he had no choice but to leave.

This time, however, he had stayed unusually long.

He had travelled to the era of the Ultra Great War using Charija's briefcase, and even visited the world of Ultraman Saga.

His greatest gains were undoubtedly the Z-Riser and the Ultra Medals.

He did not necessarily have to use them himself—he could give them to other Ultramen.

Such as Achilles or Herau.

That said, there was only one Z-Riser.

If there were more, it would be perfect. With only one, allocation was a problem.

"Thinking about O-50's heartless boss… M78's Land of Light is far better."

Yuzhou recalled Ultramen from O-50, such as Ultraman Orb.

Their power-borrowing devices had to be earned through sheer hardship.

Even the Ultra Cards were obtained only after defeating Demon Kings.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Light—

Z-Risers, Ultra Capsules, Ultra Medals—

All were developed by Hikari.

And handed out for free.

In the original storyline, new Z-Risers and medals were personally delivered to Geed by Hikari.

Z, that lovable idiot, was also given a full set for free—

evolving from a one-third half-baked Ultraman into a true half-baked Ultraman.

Of course, that also had a lot to do with his human host—

Haruki Natsukawa.
