Forbidden Magic — "The History of Corpses."
By peering into the hearts of the living, this spell manifests the enemies who once scarred them—the powerful foes they have fought, or the shadows that linger in their souls.
The materialized "history" appears in the flesh, complete with the memories and consciousness of the original being.
Their combat power, however, depends entirely on the strength of the caster.
This was one of Fairy Tail's most feared forbidden arts—the History of Corpses.
Its original wielder was Neinhart, one of the Twelve Shields of the Alvarez Empire.
Although Neinhart's performance in the final arc of Fairy Tail had been lackluster—his summons defeated and mocked by nearly everyone—it wasn't because the spell was weak.
That was the narrative's bias—the "protagonist's halo," and the invincible charm of that immortal phrase:
"Because we are Fairy Tail."
But to Sugisawa Yuuto, this magic was far from unimpressive—it was taboo, on par with the Impure World Reincarnation from the shinobi world.
A technique capable of calling the dead back into the living realm.
With one summoner, an army could rise.
Most terrifying of all—those who had once shaped the world, those whose names still echoed through history, could be summoned again.
Legends such as the Pirate King Roger, the Sea Overlord Rocks, or even Joy Boy from eight centuries past...
Just imagining such figures stepping once more onto the stage of history was enough to send a chill through one's blood.
And now, amid the chaos of the Summit War, Yuuto intended to make that vision a reality.
It was time to "embody history."
A low hum spread across the air.
A faint breeze whispered between heaven and earth.
Then—without a sound—a tall silhouette materialized in one corner of the battlefield.
At first, few noticed. The crowd's focus was still locked on Sugisawa Yuuto, who stood at the center of the storm.
But the top fighters—those whose instincts were honed to the limits—felt it immediately.
Almost simultaneously, the heads of the Four Emperors—Whitebeard, Big Mom Charlotte Linlin, and Kaido of the Beasts—snapped toward the disturbance.
So did the God Knight Figaland Garling, the Five Elders, Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Hero Garp, and Commander-in-Chief Kong.
Every titan of the sea felt it—a ripple through the air, ancient and oppressive.
Their sudden unease spread quickly.
One by one, the warriors on the battlefield turned to follow their gaze.
And then—
A deathly silence fell over the Summit War.
Sabaody Archipelago — Live Broadcast Square.
Gulp.
Crrr… ssshh…
"Fairy Tail has declared war!!!"
"They really declared war on the World Government!"
"The greatest conflict of this era is about to begin!!!"
Tens of thousands of spectators—reporters, soldiers, and citizens—were still caught up in the euphoria of Yuuto's declaration of war, their cheers shaking the island.
But then—
"Hey, wait… something's off!"
"The atmosphere at Marineford just changed!"
"Everyone on the battlefield—they're all looking in one direction!"
"What's going on there? Quick! Pan the camera!"
The Den Den Mushi camera floating in the sky responded instantly, its lens swinging toward the point of focus.
The massive broadcast screen flickered.
And then—
Silence.
Absolute silence swept across Sabaody Square.
The crowd stared at the image as though time itself had frozen.
Tens of thousands of eyes widened in disbelief—slowly, as if their minds couldn't process what they were seeing.
Their jaws dropped open.
The emotion—shock—spread like wildfire through the masses.
Their very souls trembled.
Because on the execution platform stood a man whose wild grin and unrestrained presence were unmistakable.
Even those who had never met him knew that face.
Even decades after his death, his name still carried the weight of legend.
Throughout the Summit War, countless impossible events had already shaken the world.
But now—something even greater, something unimaginable—had happened.
A trembling voice from among the reporters broke the silence, cracking through the tension like lightning.
"N-No way… That man… He—he's Gol D. Roger! The Pirate King himself!!!"
The next second—
A thunderous roar erupted from the crowd.
The earth seemed to quake as the entire Sabaody Archipelago drowned in an ocean of sound.
Reporters screamed.
Civilians went mad.
The world itself trembled.
The Pirate King—summoned back from the grave—had returned.
