Just as Tang San was about to fall into a negative spiral of emotions, he got startled by a hand placed on his shoulder and whipped his head back to look who it was.
While he was turning around he also tried to move and get away from the hold but, in the end he couldn't move an inch from the iron grip of that hold.
As he completely turned his head, he first saw silver white hair and framed glasses on the nose bridge with bright blue eyes.
A man he was all too familiar with waved his other hand with a smile and said. "Relax."
Tang San's eyes widened as he looked at the man before him, who looked barely older than him but was respected and called "Elder" by everyone.
'What is he doing here?' He thought with suspicion.
'I heard he left the academy for personal matters and wouldn't return for a while.
I heard the Teacher even muttering about wanting to ask his help for the Soul Hunt just in case, if it wasn't for his absence.
Although I don't understand why the teacher would even consider asking this guy's help.' He thought, puzzled by his appearance in Soul Hunting Forest.
Completely ignoring the fact that without his appearance, he would most likely have fled from the forest.
Then he looked at the girl who was dealing with the Datura Snake and suddenly realized.
'So that's it, he went to find this girl and probably here to get her Soul Ring. It must be just a coincidence that we met here.' He reasoned as he calmed down.
Just as he was lost in thought, the man spoke again.
"Go heal your teacher, and here, feed this detoxification and healing pill to him after your treatment." The man said, handing him 2 medicinal pills.
Tang San, while initially stunned, quickly took the pills and thanked him.
"Thank you, Elder Li. I'll go treat my teacher now." He said and quickly moved to Yu Xiaogong's side.
Hanrui watched in amusement as Tang San scurried off.
Then he looked at Zhu Zhuqing who was fighting with the Datura Snake, with a relaxed smile.
'Not Bad. Qing'er is doing fine, even while holding back, the older Qing'er is teaching her well.' He thought.
Zhuqing looking at the shallow wound on the Datura Snake was about to continue her assault when suddenly the Datura Snake who regained its sanity spit poison and created a poison mist.
Zhuqing, having no choice, quickly put some distance between them while thinking about counter measures.
But the Datura Snake being injured and regaining its sanity quickly made its escape hiding in the mist.
Zhuqing looked at the mist stunned and annoyed.
'Why did it run away from a mere scratch? I thought Soul Beasts are ferocious and won't back down easily and even fight recklessly to death at times.
How come I've come across a spineless one for my first fight as a Soul Master.' She thought, feeling annoyed and pouted.
But suddenly a thought struck her leaving her in confusion as her face scrunched up.
'Hm? Do snakes have spines?' She thought, confused.
Zhuqing (MS) who heard her thoughts smiled in amusement.
"I've told you not to play around too much, but you won't listen, now look what happened.' She chided her younger self.
Zhuqing played deaf and looked away in embracement, with a faint blush covering her ear and cheek.
'Sigh, I never knew I could be this cute.
Well, I'll have to give the credit to Rui-ge for this. After all, without him, my younger self wouldn't have the luxury to act cute and have a normal childhood.
The very luxury I didn't have growing up. After all, Rui-ge doesn't exist in my world.' Zhuqing (MS) thought, seeing her younger self's reaction with slight envy.
Just as the 2 Zhuqing's are getting lost in thought, Hanrui approached her and ruffled her hair.
"Good Job. You have done well." He praised her.
Zhuqing's cat tail wagged frantically at the praise, as she smiled ear to ear, both Zhuqing felt the warmth of his touch.
On the other side Tang San got over to Yu Xiaogong's side and cut a wound on his hands and forced out the poisoned blood.
A sizzling sound came as the blood touched the ground, and the leaves on the ground turned dark instantly after getting touched by the blood.
Tang San patiently waited until all the poisoned blood got out of his teacher's body before closing the wound and bandaging it.
He forced both the pills down his teacher's mouth and made him drink water.
Yu Xiaogong, who was semi-conscious, swallowed the pills and the water.
His wound shortly started to heal and the remaining poison in his body got detoxified.
Seeing the complexion of his teacher which is returning to normal form its initial paleness, Tang San sighed in relief.
"So, Tang San, do you need me to stay here for a while until your teacher wakes up? Or can you handle it alone?" Hanrui who kept silent this whole time spoke up, startling him.
