The sniper in the east wing shot into the room, causing the mirror to crash into pieces.
Four snipers, two east and two west, positioned at the building opposite.
Leaving the room wouldn't be easy without Leon or Tara getting gunned down.
The snipers had eyes everywhere in the room, save for the bed that shielded their target.
Leon held on to his gun strategically, calculatedly waiting for the right time to make a move.
In a swift second, while one of the snipers was reloading.
Leon rolled from behind the bed, aim, fire
Taking him out with a clean headshot
A very skilled killer like Leon hardly missed
"There are more!" Tara shouted in horror, not acknowledging that Leon had just killed one.
Leon and Tara stayed low, the bullet continued hammering
With a tap on his phone, Leon sent his coordinates, tagging it SOS.
Tara couldn't see what he was typing all she cared about was how broken and cheap the phone was
"Snippers are still in position" Unknown to Tara that he was talking to the person on the other end of the comms
The bullet fired close to Tara, and she screamed
"They are after me!" she blurted out in panic
Tara has had the worst experiences as a public figure and CEO of a thriving company.
She had a lot of enemies, as she had many allies
"No, they are here for me." Leon's voice was low and calm
"You? You are nothing but a deliveryman with a gun" Tara wrinkled her nose
Leon smirked as he took a piece of the broken mirror and faced it at the angle of the building across.
Looking at the reflection of the sixth floor, the figure of the closet snipper
"I am nothing to you, but to others I am something." Leon faced Tara's mocking stare.
Tara scoffed at his arrogance.
He would not stop bragging, would he?
"If you are powerful, you would have gotten us out of here!" she yelled
"I am working on it" Leon replied, turning to have a clear view of the snipper before crouching low again
Another bullet whizzes past them, crashing into the wall
"Let me show you what power is" Tara's hands trembled as she gripped her phone. "Dad, I…I need help." Tara narrated
"Stay calm, Tara. I'll mobilize Omnipower right now" Tara's father replied, ending the call
Tara's father had connections in the country, including a shadowy organization called Omnipower with trained assassins and mercenaries.
Tara exhales in relief "My father has sent men" Tara proudly announced "The strongest organization alive. You don't know them"
Leon said nothing.
He just tilts his head, his calm gaze on the sixth floor as if calculating bullet trajectories while listening to faint echoes.
"You should be thanking me" Tara added
Another shot hits the bed, penetrating the wood, shattering it.
"Shit!" Leon said under his breath, the wood was the only thing shielding them.
Another bullet grazes Tara's shoulder but Leon was quick to brush her away before it could touch her.
Tara's eyes widened, heart beating, breath faster, a bullet almost hit her!
"Fuck!" Leon cursed, looking at the time on his phone.
He had a plan, but it would only take time to unfold, time was ticking, the bed wood won't be able to shield them for long.
The sniper continued spraying bullets into the room, while they remained low.
Tara's heart was in her hand, subconsciously, she held on to Leon's arm in fear.
Whup Whup Whup
"We are going to die. More snipers are coming" Tara's eyes were teary, but Leon remained calm
From the slit in the curtains, Leon watched.
It was about time
A matte-black helicopter hovered into position.
The helicopter opened fire on the sixth floor
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Each sniper gunned down with precision from the men in the chopper
Ropes drop from the helicopter. Two men in sleek tactical gear descend onto the balcony
"That is Omnipower. My father sent them" Tara face lightened up in hope "If it wasn't me, you would be dead"
Tara got up, dusting off invisible dust from her clothes. Proud that she had just saved a man.
Leon stood to his feet, hiding his gun by his side.
He stretched his hand out to shake Tara
"We didn't properly introduce ourselves, I am Leon-"
"Hush! What would I need a nobody like you for?" Tara scoffed, leaving his hand hanging "I associate with high-profile people, not someone like you."
Tara tossed Leon a condescending look like he were a burden.
She turned around, walking away confidently.
"High profile?" Leon muttered under his breath, nodding while he put his hands into his pocket.
The lady had an ugly character, and he wished that moment they never met again.
The men got to Leon and bowed before him
"Boss" they exclaimed
"We are sorry for arriving one minute, thirty-two seconds late" Jake Trion, Leon right hand man said
Their heads were still down, facing their shoes.
Their boss was attentive to every tiny detail, and they knew it. "Find out who is behind this." his voice was cold and demanding
"Yes boss"
****
Tara sat in the back of the car heading home when her phone rang
"Tara! Are you safe? What did you do!" Her father called out worriedly
"I am safe now, thank you. Omnipower, we're right on time."
"Huh? Strange. I never got through to Omnipower. I feared the worst had happened to you. The company is in a turmoil!"
Tara frooze, confused. What did he mean he didn't call Omnipower and what happened to the company?
Last time she checked everything was fine, stock, staffs, share holders.
Also, If her father didn't send Omnipower, then who did?
How did they know her exact location if her father hadn't told them. Was it the deliveryman?
That man could not possibly have any connections with Omnipower, he was a nobody.
She pushed the thought away quickly.
There was no way a man like that would have connections to men of caliber like Omnipower.
It could all just be a coincident
"You signed half of the company to Alfredo?" her father shouted
"What? I didn't! I signed a deal of truce" Tara replied, confusion crossed on her face
"He sent a memo to my mail now and it's in your signature"
"He drugged me!" Tara replied her heart pounding, remembering last night
Everything she has ever worked might come crumbling down.

Leon got on the helicopter, his men shadowing him.
"The lady? From last night, did you get her number?" Jake asked, smirking a little
His boss was not one to love after what happened to him five years ago.
Jake's hopes were always high in anticipation that his cold boss would fall in love and start a family.
"Forget it" Leon replied, looking away.
She wasn't worth him.
"People have to look deeply, raw gold doesn't look nice" Jake smacked his lips
Leon gave a subtle nod. "Yesterday's mission?" He asked, diverting the topic
"I moved the motorcycle"Jake responded "You could have been caught because of that lady."
Leon said nothing. The lady who didn't even care about him the next morning.
He was the man she looked down on, little did she know, he was the one the world bowed to.
