Chapter 155 - Hank Pym is the key

HYDRA's Core Base, Serpent Island

Inside the highest-alert laboratory, two HYDRA leaders were working together to create a brand new Cyborg.

Several months had made Whitehall look much older; his face was covered in wrinkles, and he had lost more than half of his hair.

"This Cyborg will definitely defeat Kamen Rider!" Whitehall exclaimed, his expression frenzied.

As HYDRA's 'Chief Scientist,' Whitehall was tasked with creating Cyborg capable of defeating all superheroes. Eller's display of formidable strength in his battle against Supergiant had, in turn, increased Whitehall's workload, causing Whitehall, who had lived since the end of World War II, to gradually show signs of aging.

And because several previous Cyborg had lost to Kamen Rider, technological enhancements could no longer meet Whitehall's ever-growing technical demands, which was why Ophelia, known as the Lady of HYDRA, joined the Cyborg surgery.

Ophelia's ability to secure a place in HYDRA was due to her mastery of dark magic.

Dark green magic power surged in Ophelia's palms, then flowed entirely into the man on the operating table.

The magic power formed a scorpion-shaped tattoo on the man's panel. The tattoo covered half of his body and appeared to flicker as if alive.

The scorpion tattoo finally completely merged into the man's body, and the magic power permeated every one of his cells, making them stronger. The mechanical organs, originally considered 'anomalies,' also gained vitality under the magic's blessing, appearing just like normal human organs.

The man lying on the operating table was named Macdonald "Mac" Gargan, formerly a private investigator.

"It's truly perfect." A glint flashed in Whitehall's eyes. "I look forward to his performance."

After saying this, Whitehall placed a magic-infused belt on the experimental subject on the operating table, a belt whose design showed no scientific technology whatsoever.

As the belt combined with the experimental subject, energy flowed throughout his body, beginning to activate the power hidden within him.

In the blink of an eye, the experimental subject on the operating table transformed into a fantastical Rider, clad in magical armor with a scorpion stinger weapon on his left arm.

This was HYDRA's first attempt to combine magic and technology. The Cyborg body of this 'magic Rider' came from a mythical scorpion gene provided by an ally, capable of producing terrifying toxins dozens of times stronger than ricin.

"He should be ready for the battlefield very soon." Ophelia looked at the Scorpion Rider, whom she and Whitehall had created, with expectant eyes.

The brainwashing surgery had been completed before the Cyborg process, so there was no possibility of this Scorpion Rider, who belonged only to HYDRA, betraying them.

Whitehall looked at the Scorpion Rider, his eyes still seemingly dissatisfied: "No, he's still not as good as Kamen Rider!"

"Why?" Ophelia asked.

"Kamen Rider can bear the power of the Tesseract, but he cannot!" Whitehall said with certainty:

"You've also heard from the Grand Leader about Kamen Rider using the power of the Tesseract to annihilate all the aliens. As long as the Scorpion Rider cannot use the Tesseract, then he loses to Kamen Rider at the source!"

Ophelia gave Whitehall an affirmative look, "Indeed, our poor little scorpion can't compare to his competitor from the start, unless we also have a Tesseract."

"It's too late, the Tesseract is already lost." Whitehall rubbed his hair anxiously: "And it's very likely hidden by Kamen Rider. As long as that powerful force isn't in our hands, we can't overcome the hurdle of Kamen Rider."

Whitehall seemed to have lost a few more strands of hair. Seeing Whitehall so anxious, Ophelia took out a photograph.

"Who said there can't be a second Tesseract in this World?"

"What did you say?" Whitehall took the photo Ophelia handed him.

The photo looked like it was taken by a surveillance camera; it was a bit blurry, and the timestamp was from the 1970s. This would normally be a very ordinary old photo, but the person in the photo was very noteworthy.

"Isn't this a photo of Tony Stark and Howard Stark? This isn't… Wait, the 1970s, how could Tony Stark look older then than he does now? Ophelia, you're not messing with me, are you?"

"How could that be." Ophelia shrugged, helplessly, "This is a product we kept from when we still had informants within S.H.I.E.L.D. One of my subordinates dug this photo out of the trash and gave it to me."

S.H.I.E.L.D. was too large; some old-era files couldn't be destroyed in time, and Pierce even transferred a portion of them to HYDRA before his death.

Hearing this, Whitehall paused slightly, then speculated with scientific knowledge, "It sounds like parallel universe theory, but why would they go back to the 'past'? Was it to get something?"

"There was no record of important items stolen that day." Ophelia replied, "But someone saw Hank Pym angry because his Pym Particles went missing, but after they searched around, his Pym Particles were still in their original place and hadn't moved at all."

"It seems this incident is related to Pym Particles." Whitehall deduced, "Perhaps Tony Stark in the photo used Pym Particles to go back to that time. Interesting, Ophelia, can you have someone bring Hank Pym here?"

Ophelia gave Whitehall a White look, then said:

"Do you think Hank Pym is just a retired grumpy old man? He's one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. Don't let it fool you that he's fallen out with S.H.I.E.L.D.; in reality, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents around his house could almost make up a full company."

"Then that's difficult…" A brief look of disappointment appeared on Whitehall's face, but it quickly turned to joy, "But my subordinate recently captured a psychic, maybe he can steal Hank Pym's technology."

"A psychic? Wouldn't S.H.I.E.L.D. find out?"

"No, that guy is different; his method of controlling minds won't be detected by psychic sensors."

"Interesting, can you tell me his name?"

"His real name is Zebediah Killgrave, he likes to call himself 'Purple Man'."

......

Some time later, Eller and Tony arrived at the Future Pharmaceuticals location in Austin. Using the pretext that Stark Industries planned to invest in Future Pharmaceuticals, they entered to investigate clues.

And when the two met the current head of Future Pharmaceuticals' largest research project, Tony felt like she looked a little familiar.

The woman wore a floral blouse, her wavy long hair falling naturally. She smiled at Tony and said:

"Do you remember Maya Hansen from 1999?"
