"Enough," said Kellan. "We're going inside. We'll choose another room for now." Palimona stamped her foot, and Kellan patted her head like she was a fussy puppy. "Don't worry," he soothed. "She'll leave soon enough."
"You can live here," said Aurora. "But you two will not share a room." The idea that Kellan and this awful woman had ... had ... no. She couldn't think about it. If Palimona Regent had defiled her husband, she would kill that bitch.
"You really can't see reality, can you?" Palimona laughed. "Kellan is mine."
"Separate rooms," repeated Aurora. "Or I can kill you and take my husband back right now."
Palimona whispered into Kellan's ear, and he stilled, his expression going blank. It was like he was a robot that had been switched off.
