"Are you alright?"
Dane stepped forward and pulled up the Martian Manhunter.
"I... I'm fine..."
The Martian Manhunter said somewhat awkwardly; he could be said to have made no contribution, only dragging them down.
Dane had no intention of blaming him; he had known his weakness for a long time, which was essentially a psychological issue.
Such problems could only be overcome by himself.
At this moment, the Martian Manhunter remembered what he had just seen and said straightforwardly:
"So, that was your true form just now? You're still..."
"So young?"
Dane turned his head, looking at him in confusion: "What?"
"No, nothing?" The Martian Manhunter shook his head.
At this moment, Batman's voice came through the earpiece:
"What happened inside? I saw all the bugs crawl back into its body."
"I killed the possessed alien inside... Wait, you said those bugs crawled back? They didn't disappear?"
Batman simply responded: "My wording is correct."
Dane and the Martian Manhunter simultaneously looked at the corpse, only to find it gone.
"Could it be that he's not dead yet?" The Martian Manhunter doubted.
Dane shook his head: "That's impossible. Even if that corpse really moved, the one who came back to life would absolutely not be the person we just encountered!"
He turned to look at the Martian Manhunter: "Ron, can your X-ray see it?"
The Martian Manhunter concentrated, his gaze penetrating layers of obstacles, and at the very bottom, he saw the corpse.
"It's falling down, continuously, as if someone is pushing it down."
Dane frowned, placing his hand on the surrounding energy body, feeling the Emotional Spectrum energy converging downwards.
"Attention everyone! The target has not stopped moving! Repeat, the target has not stopped moving!"
"What do you mean? It's not dead?" Red Hood asked in confusion.
Dane denied his statement:
"No, if my assumptions are correct, the one who died, his corpse is being used by the one who is alive."
"What are you talking about?"
"Parallax is composed of two parts: an intelligent alien, and a monster with power but only acting on instinct."
"The intelligent one died, and the one with only power will lose control."
He briefly explained that the one currently active is actually Parallax!
A pure Lantern Beast not fused with any conscious entity, it only acts on instinct.
Evidently, the Death of the Little Blue People forced Parallax to take action.
Perhaps to find a new host, or perhaps to feed on instinct, its current target is Earth.
And Parallax doesn't care about the Justice League at all; it only wants to feast and replenish the energy it lost in the recent battle.
"Everyone, try to stop it!"
Dane finished speaking, then rushed out of Parallax's body with the Martian Manhunter.
In the atmosphere, the Little Blue People's corpse was enveloped in dense yellow light; Superman's heat vision and ice breath had no effect on it.
Even Wonder Woman's godfire sword, when struck against it, had no greater effect beyond weakening some of the yellow energy.
Batman, Red Hood, and Nightwing, meanwhile, flew downwards in their combat aircraft, continuously firing missiles in an attempt to change its direction.
As the corpse entered the atmospheric layers, its massive body in space also extended downwards in a funnel shape, like a giant drill piercing into the atmosphere.
But once it entered the atmosphere, it was Dane's home turf.
His divine power surged; Zeus's divine power allowed him to freely command wind and rain, and all the surrounding cumulus clouds were gathered by him.
Electric charges rubbed against each other within, and soon a thunderstorm brewed in the cumulus clouds.
The Bat-Family spread out all their fighter jets, moving away from the thunderclouds.
Dane, meanwhile, controlled the clouds to surround Parallax, and within the yellow energy, a giant insect-like creature appeared faintly.
Dane used the power of the atmosphere to firmly trap Parallax, continuously agitating the clouds to discharge electricity; light blasts and thunderous roars echoed within.
He could even hear Parallax's monstrous roars from within, but this could not prevent Parallax from getting closer and closer to Coast City.
On the highway connecting Coast City to the harbor, the escort vehicle suddenly braked.
Amanda, inside, was thrown forward by inertia, hitting her head on the back of the front seat.
Just as she was about to scold the driver, she saw the driver open the door, get out, and look up at the sky.
She felt a sense of unease and quickly followed him out of the car.
"Oh my God..."
Above Coast City, a large mass of yellow unidentified object spread out, quickly obscuring the sunlight over half the city.
Like a giant parasol blocking the sky, all the citizens of Coast City looked up at the scene in the sky, not understanding but feeling awe.
Some young people even took out their phones to record, and some were even live-streaming.
Amanda finally witnessed the alien monster with her own eyes, but she only felt her hands and feet grow cold, a chill rushing straight to her head.
Speaking of misfortunes never coming singly, this phrase particularly suited her situation.
As Parallax entered Coast City, Hector, who was in the detention vehicle, also sensed its arrival.
"Finally..."
He opened his eyes, which were filled with murky yellow light.
Then he spread his hands, and a powerful telekinetic force directly tore open the alloy car plating.
The special forces Soldiers acted swiftly; they immediately raised their guns and fired.
But the bullets stopped in mid-air, then shot back, blowing the heads off all the Soldiers.
"Hector! What are you doing?"
One couldn't help but admire Amanda's courage; she dared to provoke Hector at such a time.
So, Hector turned his head to look at her, and the Black woman immediately flew into the sky, then crashed down heavily.
This time, she dared not move.
Hector thought she was dead and turned to fly towards Coast City.
He could feel something calling to him.
After he left, Amanda crawled up from the ground.
She was wearing N Metal armor given to her by Hawkman, so her injuries were not serious.
After standing up, she immediately called her superiors.
"I am Amanda Waller. There's an emergency in Coast City. I personally believe that nuclear bombs should be used immediately if necessary!"
Above Coast City.
Underneath the massive yellow cover, a tiny golden flying object continuously emitted energy rays, but it was completely useless.
That was Hawkman's N Metal fighter jet. His plane was not a spaceship, so he couldn't participate in the battle between the Justice League and Parallax.
But within the atmosphere, his plane could finally be put to use, though he felt its utility was limited.
The N Metal energy weapons struck the monster, not even making a ripple.
"Damn it, what exactly is this monster?" Hawkman fumed.
Just then, several figures flew past his fighter jet.
Hawkman quickly looked over and saw people he had never seen before.
"Who are these guys?" Carter was full of questions.
Amanda hadn't yet told him about asking the Justice League for help.
But he could guess that a group of people were dealing with the yellow monster.
Just then, Dane, enveloped in lightning, looked back at him.
Hawkman swore that person was definitely looking at him!
But it was only a glance, and he continued to fly forward.
"Clark, Ron, you two are fast; evacuate the civilians as much as possible."
"Diana, you and I will use lightning together."
"Bat-Family, find an opportunity to see if you can discover its weakness!"
Everyone obeyed and dispersed.
Clark and Ron unleashed their super speed, evacuating everyone they could.
They were so fast that some people were carried away by a gust of wind without even seeing their faces.
When they came to, they found themselves in an unfamiliar location.
But even so, the speed was too slow. Coast City had millions of people, and Parallax quickly tasted its first big meal on Earth.
The monstrous worm it transformed into perched on top of a tall building, opening its massive mouth, and the life force from countless citizens flew into its mouth with the yellow light.
Witnessing this scene, the terrified public screamed and ran in all directions. The scene Ron saw in Dane's memory was replayed in reality.
Chaotic fleeing only increased the number of dead. He had to use his telepathy to soothe their fear, to prevent Parallax from exploiting it.
But this was just a drop in the bucket; as long as someone looked up and saw Parallax, fear would naturally arise in their hearts.
It couldn't be stopped!
And this apocalyptic scene quickly spread across All America via some people's Kuaishou videos!
In just over ten minutes, almost everyone knew that an alien species had begun to invade Earth.
The terrified public all asked one question:
Where is our Army?
