Upon crushing the Sky Attack, Roaring Moon slammed heavily into Altaria. Its claws coalesced into a Dragon Claw, piercing directly into Altaria's body. Scarlet blood splattered, staining Altaria's pure white feathers. Subsequently, a Throat Chop was delivered, knocking Altaria straight out of the sky.
It plummeted to the ground, losing its ability to battle and fainting instantly without even a struggle. Using Teleport, Gu Yuan arrived at Altaria's nest and quickly found a feather with a metallic luster. It contained Dragon-type energy.
"Don't worry, this feather is yours, though now isn't the time to use it." Sensing Roaring Moon's gaze, Gu Yuan smiled and stroked its head.
By now, Gu Yuan had been in the spatial rift for half a month. During this period, besides the Normal-type special item obtained from Bouffalant at the start, Gu Yuan had also found a Fire-type and this Dragon-type special item. For dual-type Pokémon like Charizard and Roaring Moon, finding a special item of either attribute was sufficient.
Currently, Charizard's accumulation was enough. It was time for Gu Yuan to find a secluded spot for Charizard to break through in peace.
"Let's go. We'll find a remote place first."

Under Charizard's frantic absorption, the energy from the Charcoal surged out. Invisible airwaves gathered as if celebrating the imminent birth of an Elite Rank Pokémon. Slowly, Charizard closed its eyes, carefully feeling and controlling the energy in its body to prepare for the final surge.
Suddenly, Gu Yuan's detection system discovered a Pokémon approaching—and it had Elite Rank strength!
"Alakazam, two o'clock direction. See if any humans are approaching!" Gu Yuan immediately said to Alakazam via Telepathy without disturbing Charizard's breakthrough.
With a precise target, Alakazam mobilized its psychic power to probe the direction Gu Yuan indicated.
"Someone is approaching, and they are moving very fast."
Alakazam quickly provided an answer, causing Gu Yuan's expression to turn grim. Charizard's breakthrough still needed time. At the opponent's current speed, there was a high probability they would arrive before the breakthrough was complete.
"Roaring Moon, Moltres, you two continue guarding Charizard."
"Alakazam, Sylveon, Annihilape, and Ditto, come with me!"
After a moment's thought, Gu Yuan prepared to step out and stop the intruder's approach. Alakazam activated Teleport, taking Gu Yuan away from the spot.
"It looks like a Pokémon is about to break through. I just don't know if it's a wild Pokémon or a human who came here."
Sitting on Salamence's back, Sean drew closer to the site of Charizard's breakthrough and inevitably noticed some clues.
"I am Gu Yuan of the Kanto League. My Pokémon is breaking through up ahead. Please stop."
Suddenly appearing in front of Sean and floating in the air alongside Alakazam using psychic power, Gu Yuan spoke to Sean sternly.

As he spoke, Sean had already prepared Salamence for battle.

As he spoke, Sean released his Pokémon. A Leader Rank Altaria, Flygon, and Tropius appeared beside him one after another. Sean didn't plan to attack Gu Yuan directly yet; he intended to interrupt Charizard's breakthrough first. Otherwise, if Gu Yuan also possessed an Elite Rank Pokémon, it would be much harder to make a move.
"You're asking for death!"
A roar rang out as the light of Mega Evolution surged, and Mega Alakazam appeared beside Gu Yuan. After this period of growth, Alakazam could reach the Lower-tier Elite Rank strength after Mega Evolving. A Psyshock trio was launched, attacking Salamence directly.
"Salamence, Mega Evolution!"
While having Salamence Mega Evolve, Sean also moved onto a Pidgeot. After Mega Evolving, Mega Salamence's ability became Aerialilate, turning Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves and increasing their power.
Poké Balls opened as Annihilape and a Ditto transformed into Alakazam immediately launched attacks against Altaria and the others. Mega Alakazam successfully used its Trace ability to copy Sylveon's Pixilate, gaining the Fairy-type boost.
Immediately after, Mega Alakazam attacked with Hyper Beam, clashing with Mega Salamence's Hyper Beam. However, after Mega Evolving, Salamence's strength had reached the Middle-tier Elite Rank. Combined with the Aerialilate bonus, its move's power was roughly equal to Mega Alakazam's Hyper Beam used with the Pixilate ability.
Consequently, Mega Salamence clearly held the upper hand in the clash. Using Teleport to vanish from the spot, Mega Alakazam engaged in a skirmish with Mega Salamence. With Pixilate active, Mega Alakazam could cause significant trouble if it found an opening.
Utilizing psychic power to help Sylveon float in the air, Hyper Beam was continuously released to pin down Altaria. Simultaneously, Annihilape engaged in a fight with Flygon, while Ditto transformed into Charizard to battle Tropius.
"In that case, I'll just settle you right here!"
Taking out two more Poké Balls, Sean gave up on interrupting the breakthrough and prepared to deal with Gu Yuan directly. In flashes of white light, a Noivern and Corviknight, both also possessing Leader Rank strength, appeared and launched an attack directly at Gu Yuan.
