I woke up to a black surrounding—no walls, no sky, just an endless void swallowing everything. There was no sound except the faint echo of my own breath, as if the darkness itself was listening. Not a single person in sight.
Am I dreaming?
Where am I?
Where is everybody—wait. Everybody? Who? Why did I even think of that word? Faces flicker at the edge of my mind like dying embers, but when I reach for them, they vanish into nothing.
My chest tightens. My fingers tremble as I touch my own skin, but even that feels unfamiliar, like I'm wearing someone else's body.
What was my name again?
Who am I?
And then, from somewhere deep inside the darkness, something moves—slow, deliberate, and impossibly large.
