Chapter 3 - Are you a dumbass?

It took me a second to realize what she just said to me, did this bitch really just call me a dumbass? I just asked to join the damn gang and I get called a dumbass.

"Huh? I don't think I heard you right." I spoke with a bit of anger in my voice.

"Are. You. A. Dumbass. I don't think I could've made that any easier for you to hear." She replied while crossing her arms.

"Reika just calm down a second. He could be useful, especially with the new prototype we gave him. That arm could be the breakthrough we've been searching for." The doctor chimed in with a bit of nervousness in his voice.

"Fine. Fine. Let's bring him into the gang. Not that it'll matter." Reika responded before leaving the room.

I have a feeling that we'll get a long great in this gang of hers. I don't really know what her problem was since she seemed interested in me when I first woke up.

None of this makes any sense to me personally but I guess it won't matter as time goes on.

"Don't mind her, she just gets like this when it comes to new people. It took quite some time for us to get to a decent spot." The Doctor spoke with a calm tone.

I'll help make a difference here and then I'll make my own gang. I'll rise above the rest of those assholes out in the streets. We won't ever be in a bad position again, f*ck all of the people who made it that way.

I'm also going to find the prick that accused me and Renji of stealing Vantablade. That is going to be one satisfying kill when I find out where he is.

It also won't be the first time I've killed someone.

"It's fine. I'm used to dealing with attitudes like that. Is there a room I could stay in?" I asked with a curious tone.

"Yeah, I'll show you to it." The Doctor answered.

I stood up and could feel my legs shake for a few moments. It was definitely quite a while since I walked, no way they'd shake like this otherwise.

"How long was I out?" I questioned while following behind the doctor.

"I'd say about a month has passed since we found you. Once we got you hooked up properly, everything was fine. Your heart was beating, or the new heart we put in I should say." The Doctor answered.

It would probably help to figure out this guy's name soon as well since I just know him as the doctor. But he just said I was out for a while month and that they replaced my heart.

So not only did I get a new arm, but a new heart as well. That explains the weird feeling I've had in my chest since I woke up earlier.

My heart isn't a real one anymore. It's been replaced by some cybernetic one that feels a lot different. I can't really think of how to describe the feeling right now but it's different will work.

I didn't really know how to respond to the doctor but we had already reached the room so it didn't really matter anymore.

"Get used to the new arm, I'm sure someone will be in to talk to you later." Doc advised before leaving.

Didn't even get a chance to say anything else before he left. The inside of the room was pretty basic for the most part.

A queen size bed, a small little bathroom area, a dresser, a window looking outside, and a mirror by the bed. Maybe it would be best to see how bad I actually look now.

My eyes didn't seem any different, still the same old cyan blue I've always had. My hair's a mess again, dark strands curling and falling wherever they want, tips catching the light like faint streaks of teal fire. It almost looks alive under the glow, every strand shifting between shadow and light.

At least that wasn't so different, I didn't want to completely lose the human side of me. I've purposely avoided getting any metal for quite some time.

You lose a lot of the pleasures of being a human when you replace so much of your body with metal.

That piece of metal in my chest also will always be a reminder of the day I should've died for good. Vantablade is going to regret the fact that they left me alive after everything they did.

I'll make sure that they die first before I handle anything else going forward. Scum like them will suffer the most, even if it takes me some time to do so.

Regardless I decided to look around the room until I realized that there were some clothes on the bed. A matte black jacket with a faint gloss that seems to be from the light outside.

Utility pocket sleeves and some along the chest, it all seems to be quite functional but isn't all that stylish. The pants seem to match the jacket as well, a nice matte black pair of pants to go along nicely with the jacket.

A shirt was there too but it wouldn't be seen under this jacket at any point anyway.

But my new metal arm was sticking out like a sore thumb amongst my new fit so this would be kind of annoying to get used to.

At least killing wouldn't be a new thing for me to adjust to since I've done it before. It'll just take a lot more killing than I'm used to, but that's about it.

Kairox is a kill or be killed kind of city with all of its different social statues.

Stacks are probably the worst to deal with but usually they stay up inside of their damn towers so we shouldn't have to worry about them much.
