Null exited his thoughts as he focused on his surroundings, stepping out the elevator and turning left, following Ron, as they were walking in the hallway, he noted a few things.
On his left were numerous doors that they kept passing.
The doors were as if an iron wall, with gold made river like decorations, then next to it on the right side of single door, there was a flat golden plate against the wall, which he suspected was a User Interface to type in a code to access the room on the other side.
On his right, was a glass wall that hasn't ended ever since they got out the elevator.
Which was at least one minutes ago.
It was the first thing he saw when the elevator opened.
And as he walked behind his uncle, he realized that Ron was looking at a holographic map of this place, as a dot moved, as it kept shining red.
Then red dot pulsed as it turned green.
Ron stopped and turned, he approached the door right next to us. He tapped on the golden plate, then floating buttons on the plate appeared. He tapped series of numbers, fast and impatiently.
That buffled Null and Midas, they could not track Ron's movement at all. Mostly Midas couldn't believe it.
'I know they took away the prototypes, and replaced them with outdated ones, but these eyes can track a lot of things.' Midas thought.
Then after the code was inputted, he pressed his thumb on the plate.
Then finally the door slid to the side.
"Passwords never will ever, not be annoying." Ron grumbled to himself.
"I remember Uncle, no need to fuss about it." Null said, squeezing through a gap, between the entrance frame and Ron's body.
Null paused, he looked back at Ron, as he felt a stare directed at him.
Ron just looked at Null, with a, Really you couldn't wait for me to get in first?
But he also wasn't truly surprised at this behavior, his done it before multiple times.
Null sticked out his tongue and continued into the apartment.
His done that too, multiple times.
Then Ron felt a tap at his back.
He then turned his head over his shoulder.
"May i please?" Midas asked, politely to Ron's confused amusement. He moved aside and Midas entered.
"They act like opposites, but they don't feel too different from each other sometimes...or at least to me." He said to himself, as he entered the apartment.
The door sliding shut behind him.
Midas after stepping past the soldier, he entered a hallway, it had these glass like side walls.
He brush his fingers on them, they were deceiving.
He knew this already. The glass wall tricked the eyes to perceive it as sandstone that were carved into plates.
But than when you felt at it, he understood it true nature.
They wanted the aesthetic, but not the material.
Like buying a plastic plant, because it looks good, and you don't need to deal with the responsibility of taking care of it.
Then he looked up at the dangling lights in a shell with large quadrilateral openings, the shell seemed to be made in the same fashion as wicker baskets.
He continued further where there were, two yellow sandy like pots, with actual plants inside, at least taller than him.
They were placed at the entrance where he suspected was the center of the apartment, where everything connected to each other.
But the entrance was blocked by the boy with a cloud of white blue-ish hair.
He got behind him and looked inside above his head, then moved to the side and looked at the boys face.
"Really, ...does this impress you?" Midas questioned.
As he turned to look at the inside.
"It's quite small if you ask me." Then he paused, "But... It has a comfortable presence to it."
Null, heard him but still didn't move.
He just stood there and looked inside.
The room was a circle, there was a large couch with a glass table the length of the couch with a orange linen cloth across it, not entirely covering it.
A large four cornered curved glass was placed on the wall, infront of the glass table.
It was the TV, there was a view of a bird with cold complimenting colours on its feathers, that seemed to take an interest in a flower.
The TV was above a desk, that had a pot with flowers inside that had mostly orange tones, and a yellow linen cloth placed across the gray wood like desk, the remote for the TV was placed on this desk.
The walls were gray having a stoney look to it, which Midas doubted was actually what it seemed to be, probably some sort of glass wall. Then to contrast the gray walls, were the pale yellow sandstone pillars, a pillar apart from each other, untill a full circle yet it wasn't a complete one.
As Null slowly began walking in he turned his head as saw the room did not complete a entire circle as it was interrupted by another circle room.
He saw it was the kitchen, there was kitchen island in the middle of a countertop that circled around along the world. Cabinets aligned with them from above. In-between the wall aligned countertop was a stove.
The kitchen sink was in turn in-between another connection of the wall aligned countertop.
Null didn't need to check that in the cabinets there were utensils, pots, and dishes.
"Not bad huh?" Ron said with a big smile.
Both Midas and Null was shook, disturbed as they both turned around to see the beaming ray of sunshine called Uncle Ron.
They deadpanned.
'How can you be so scary, while being like that?' both the teens thought.
Both of them can't fathom why, his so strong?
Why, his so fast?
Why, his so unnoticeable with how large he is?
But... He is...
"Don't look at me like a fish out the water." Ron said as he turned towards the hallway between the pillars in the center of the apartment, to the side of the couch.
"Follow me, get some rest in y'all rooms, then I'll call you two when am done preparing food." Ron said as he walked through the same hallway as the entrance hallway.
Then the got to the first door, the same door as the entrance but with a horizontal golden pattern on its sliver.
And a golden plate on the side of the door again.
"Midas, press your palm against the plate." Ron said.
Midas did so without question, which Null still felt strange about, as a spiral of thoughts seem to flood back, but shaked his head to interrupt such thoughts.
For now.
Then Null realized that the sliver door slid to the side already.
And inside was a room with the standard pallette of this place, gray, orange, yellow, and any colour that complimented them.
There was a bed twice the size his, a lamp stand next to the bed, but across it is a rectangular cabinet with four shelves.
And a sliver section on the wall of yellow fake sandstone, and next to it was another door a copy of the one that Midas opened.
He suspected it was the bathroom.
"That's your room for as long as we stay here!" Ron said as if unveiling a present.
Midas gave off a humored tone to his voice as he spoke back, "Thank you."
As he got in the room, the door sliding shut behind him.
Then the uncle and nephew continued to the door a bit a distance from Midas's.
Null understood this was his room, as he unhesitatingly reached out–?
A familiar large calloused hand pressed upon the golden plate.
As he opened the door that slid to the side, which was the same as Midas's door.
"Isn't that my room... or are you making sure I can't leave my room, are you grounding me for the first time?" Null questioned.
Though this question seemed innocent, still it had the subconscious darker origin of doubt of that, Ron didn't trust him.
But the sunshine smile of the gorilla he called Uncle, lessened it and his next words almost wiped it away... almost.
"Lil Olive, come on~, it ain't like it that and that paren-, i mean child management method doesn't work on you." Then he paused, and sighed, "In these apartments, there's two identical rooms and one master room."
Null hearing this looked in the room, it's the same as Midas's, did that not mean my room is–!
Then his thought process was interrupted.
"Lil Olive, I want you to get the experience of something better then what you had, your entire life. Also I like a bed that doesn't have so much room, it's less... empty." Ron said.
He smiled at Olive solemnly before entering the room, the door sliding shut behind him.
Leaving Null in the hallway, his spiraling thoughts, flooding back, clouding his mind.
He couldn't interrupt them this time.
He walked in a haze till the end of the hallway, at the end was a door, with gold in a patterns resembling a waterfall across the sliver surface, as his focal dilemma slowly returned.
Before that could happen, he pressed his hand against the golden plate, as it slid open and he entered it, the door sliding shut behind him.
