Above the fields, at the balcony of the mansion. Two of Master Diablo's students stood.
They looked down at the match below them, having witnessed the entire fight.
The sound of boots on tiles came from the other direction. Distracting them.
"what is going on here?"
The two students turned to face Diablo.
"What was that sound" Diablo walked to the edge of the balcony and looked down.
The field was ransacked. Cracks traced along the floor to the walls. The grass was burnt to a crisp. The temperature astronomical.
"what happened" he asked again.
"Two students of Master Sylus were having a match and this happened" One student spoke.
"that's not the answer I'm looking for" Diablo spoke
"what exactly caused this"
"It's their powers, he changed his flames. It exploded when it came in contact with hers"
Diablo looked at the scene below him. Already analyzing what laid before him.
He saw Kairo. A small flicker of flames could be seen dancing along his fingers.
He looked at Zipporah. she stood up holding her sword. Clothes dirty. He saw her sword and the patterns.
"That explains it" He smiled.
"you do know your break is almost over"
The two students straightened their backs. Realizing they have been watching the battle since it started.
"But.. " his deep voice trailed off.
"This could serve as a lesson, after all this level is what you are working to be".
Diablo turned.
"I hope you learned Something from what you saw" He walked away.
"but Master" the students shouted, following him.
"what created the fire"
"it looked like liquid"
"how did it create the explosion" the students threw questions after questions.
"you will know after your break"
"right now I'm going to have a word with Sylus, join the others, will you".
Below, Kairo and Zipporah dusted their dresses.
They walked toward each other, looking at the destruction they had caused.
Kairo scratched his head.
"I didn't mean for this to happen."
Zipporah ignored him, inspecting her sword and hands.
Ivy quickly walked up to them. She grabbed Kairo's ear and pulled him to face her.
"Ivy! Would you leave my ear?" Kairo exclaimed.
"My popcorn." Ivy pointed at the bench she had been sitting on. The bucket was knocked over, popcorn scattered across the ground.
"You spilled my popcorn!"
She pulled harder.
"How is it my fault? It's not like I physically pushed it!" Kairo grabbed her wrist.
"Let go of me!"
"Your fire caused this, can't you see?!"
"I didn't know you'd be affected! Is it my fault you came to watch?"
"Just apologize, will you?!"
"No! I didn't do anything wrong—let me go!"
The two argued loudly, practically shouting at each other.
Zipporah ignored them.
She looked down at her hand.
A few scratches marked her left thumb. The skin wasn't broken, but it still hurt. Her sword was fine, aside from the dirt.
She glanced back at Kairo and Ivy.
They both seemed fine.
She stood there for a moment… then turned away.
After a few steps, she came face to face with Sylus.
The cold look in his eyes froze her completely.
He stood at the edge of the field, eyes locked onto his students, surrounded by the destruction they had caused.
Ren stood beside him, looking horrified.
Damian was already walking across the field, analyzing the damage.
Zipporah instinctively looked away.
She felt like she had let him down.
"I told you to go on break… not destroy the field."
Sylus's voice rang out, sharp and clear.
Ivy and Kairo froze. They turned toward him immediately.
Sylus stepped forward. His boots crunched against the burnt grass.
Before he could go further, a voice came from the staircase.
Diablo appeared.
His expression said everything: I knew you couldn't control your students.
He walked past Damian and stopped beside Sylus.
"They were placed under you because of this, Sylus. Did you allow this?"
He gestured at the field.
"Diablo… do you need something?" Sylus asked calmly, ignoring the sarcasm.
"Do I need something?" Diablo scoffed.
"Sylus, you don't know what you've done, do you?"
"why don't you attend to your students… and let me handle mine?"
"Master…" Damian spoke quietly.
"This field is a regulated training zone. A controlled environment for sin energy."
Zipporah's eyes widened.
She knew what that meant.
"Their explosion broke the containment system," Damian continued.
"The energy is… leaking. If this continues, the entire area around the mansion will become unstable."
Zipporah, Kairo, and Ivy went pale.
Diablo smirked.
"Now do you understand the magnitude of their actions?"
Sylus pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You think I don't know?"
He turned sharply.
"Damian, come here. You three—go to your rooms and wait for my orders. Ren, collect the books from the garden."
"Yes, Master."
They moved immediately.
"What are you going to do about the leaking energy?" Diablo asked.
"Damian, the containment system uses crystals. There are replacements in the resource room. Restore and—"
"He is going nowhere."
A voice cut in.
They looked up.
Gen stood on the balcony.
"I'll be in the meeting room," Gen continued.
"This must be discussed before any action is taken. It also needs to be documented and reported to the Captain—with visual evidence."
He turned and walked away.
Damian sneered.
What an interesting person.
Sylus and Diablo exchanged a look.
Damian noticed… and smiled.
"Damian," Sylus called.
"Yes, Master."
"Who do you take orders from?"
"You, Master."
"Then restore the system. Record the damage first. Then return to the meeting room. Don't keep me waiting "
"Yes, Master."
Damian walked away.
"It seems Gen is drunk on the little authority he has been given," Diablo muttered.
Sylus's eyes turned cold.
"His presence always irritates me."
The two walked up the staircase, following him.
