Within minutes, Nina was already captured and taken inside the gymnasium. Her hands were tied behind her back, and so were her legs.
Her mouth was wrapped too.
She did not know why, but she was sure this was not kidnapping.
Is it?
She spotted the captives folded into one corner of the gym room.
Terrified. Exhausted. Hungry.
All Nina could see were bad impressions to begin with.
It was not as if she was expecting something good anyway. She just felt that eliminating these bastards was not a bad idea.
Five boys and six ladies, but there was no sign of Miss Audrey.
That realization made Nina's jaw drop instantly as she looked up at the armed guy standing in front of her, staring death into his eyes.
Noticing her, he chuckled and kicked her left shoulder.
"Got something to say, huh?"
Nina could not respond, but that murderous stare was strikingly sharp. Due to the fact that she was tied up, the guy had nothing to fear.
In fact, he teased Nina even more, almost pissing her off.
However, the scene did not last long before the door by the side opened and three men stepped out.
Nina spotted Karen at first, the guy who had taken her M16 after the clash at the library.
Then there was another guy she quickly recognized. He must have been with Karen at the library as well.
And behind them…
A considerably sturdy-looking guy who appeared to be around twenty to twenty-two years old walked over.
He had a confident smile on his face, shoulders high like he owned the place. Nina did not need further introduction to understand that he was The Boss.
But screw it, she was having none of those pathetic impressions.
She saw him as no different from the rest of his boys, a fool who had gained power from bad influence and was using his dark side to manage it.
Lance smiled the moment he spotted her, rendering a small stance of observation before approaching her.
"You must be the skilled fighter," he said in a low tone.
Nina just stared, no words.
"But damn… the last time I checked, we never had someone like you on campus. Where the hell did you come from?" he asked.
Furrowing his brows in curiosity, he waited for her response until he realized her mouth was sealed.
"Oh… get that trash out of her mouth," he signaled, and one of the boys quickly did as commanded.
However, instead of answering his question, the lady before him suddenly responded with another question.
"Where is she?"
"What? Who?" Lance flinched, confused.
Karen immediately stepped up.
"She was with Miss Audrey when we got to the library. Exactly where we took her rifle," Karen said.
At that point, Lance understood. This lady's attack had to be about more than just getting back her rifle.
"Oh… superhero services. I see," he said with a shaky smirk.
"Tell me… where is she?" Nina asked again, her eyes burning with rage.
Lance appeared amazed by her desperation, and he began to think they might be related.
Although he did not care, as that would not change the fact that they were not getting out of there.
Absolutely no way.
"You really want to see her?" he asked.
"Okay, fine.
Bring her with me."
Nina was dragged into the second room, and lying by the wall, completely naked and seemingly bleeding, was a familiar female figure.
Miss Audrey appeared unconscious, which caused panic, but when Nina tried to approach her, her legs failed her at once.
She fell to the ground, facing The Boss with a death stare.
"I'm going to kill you."
Lance clenched his teeth for a moment before bursting into laughter, the other guys joining him.
They found it funny because...
"I wish. I really wish you could, Miss.
But unfortunately, I'm actually going to be the one doing that," Lance said.
"But first, I'll take out what's good in you before feeding you to the Big Boys."
Lance let out a crazy laugh, enjoying the intimidation.
A human being was lying almost lifeless before them, and all they could do was laugh. It was now clear to Nina that these guys had lost their minds.
"Let's get things straight here," Lance began again. "I was going to treat our humble Departmental Officer well until she decided to betray us. She told lies about us and ran away when we could have offered help.
It was… unacceptable. And unfortunately, The Boss doesn't give second chances."
"You don't care about a single person here. Everyone is under your feet, and you won't stop until you destroy every one of them. I won't let that happen," Nina said.
"Like I said… I wish. We both know you can't do anything with both your limbs tied. My boys told me you're a very good fighter, but even with that, you can't save yourself from a bullet.
But you still have one chance to get out of here alive."
Lance bent to measure her kneeling height.
"That's if you tell me where Anna is."
At that instant, Nina looked him right in the eyes and spat on his face without a single morsel of regret.
"WHOA—OH!"
Lance stepped back a few steps, responding with a soft laugh.
The boys around attempted to attack Nina, but he quickly ordered them to stay back.
"Don't worry. I'll fix this myself," Lance said.
He moved closer again and looked at her.
"Is that a no?" he asked.
"I guess yes."
And without waiting for her response, he replied to himself.
"That's a very nice way to reply to someone, and trust me, hottie… I love it."
Lance then turned to Karen.
"Get her ready for a dance. Since she doesn't want to cooperate with us, we're going to operate on her."
Karen was about to approach her but halted, then turned and asked,
"Are we feeding her to the Big Boys together with Miss Audrey?"
Hearing that, Lance glared.
"Idiot. That's not happening until I get a taste of her stubborn militarized holes.
Get her ready for me. I'm starting with the hole behind, hehe."
