Chapter 3 - Zombie Points

Shen Yu was sleeping peacefully when suddenly—

"Wahhh!"

Bibi's cries erupted from the crib. Shen Yu's eyes snapped open. He turned to see the little one wailing loudly.

He got up and checked her diaper—everything was fine. Then he offered her the milk bottle. She didn't drink.

Frustrated, Shen Yu stood over her and scolded, "Are you stupid? Cry, cry, cry? Don't you know how to sleep quietly? If you cry this loudly, all the zombies will come in and eat us! Is that your plan?"

The baby paused, staring at him silently, not understanding his words. Then, feeling wronged by the sudden outburst, she began crying even louder. "Wahhh!"

Shen Yu recalled the original owner's memory: whenever she cried at night, she would fall asleep resting on his chest. Understanding what she wanted, he picked her up into his arms. She immediately stopped crying and leaned against him, her tiny eyes filled with expectation.

Shen Yu sighed and muttered, "What a little drama queen… can't you sleep alone?"

He lay down on the bed, holding her close. The baby nestled against him, gazing up at him and letting out tiny giggles. Her tiny hands brushed against his face. Shen Yu placed a hand over her chest and murmured in his sleep, "Please don't cry… I need sleep." Hearing this, the little one finally drifted off.

On the second floor, doors quietly creaked open. Some residents gathered in a room, armed with knives and sticks. Whispering nervously, one said, "There are dozens of zombies on this floor… what should we do?"

Another suggested, "Why don't we make four teams? We split up, and the zombies will split too. Then we can take them down."

Everyone agreed.

Following their plan, the four teams stepped into the hallway, making loud noises. The previously silent zombies suddenly growled. Upon seeing the humans, they charged.

"Split! Split fast!" the human teams shouted.

But the zombies ignored the division and attacked Team 1 directly. Terrified, Team 1 screamed, "Help! Help!"—but the zombies tore into them alive.

The remaining three teams froze in place, panic-stricken. They fled back into their rooms and slammed the doors shut, never expecting the plan to fail.

Sweating and terrified, they messaged the group chat: "Mission failed. There are too many zombies. How can we clear them?"

Wang Xiao scolded furiously: "You're all idiots! You can't even handle a dozen zombies?" Others chimed in angrily: "Why couldn't you clear them?"

The participants fired back: "If we're useless, why don't you go? Why are you hiding in your rooms?"

Soon, everyone in the group chat was scolding each other, the tension and fear boiling over.

The next morning, Shen Yu opened his eyes. The little girl was sleeping peacefully. Carefully, he picked her up and placed her back in the crib.

Shen Yu picked up his phone and saw dozens of messages flooding in. The previous night, some residents had tried to organize teams to clear the zombies on the second floor. Shen Yu couldn't help but laugh at their foolish plan.

Shaking his head, he muttered to himself, "Why not just let me handle this? That plan was doomed from the start. If the zombies gather in large numbers, they'll break the doors and come inside."

He quickly formulated a plan. Shen Yu activated his invisibility and, sensing that no one was outside his door, he quietly opened it and closed it behind him. Both of his hands transformed into a massive tail. Peering down the hall, he saw the zombies standing there, oblivious to his presence.

Moving closer, he swung his tail with precision. Bang! The zombies immediately collapsed to the ground. He swung again—this time his invisibility deactivated because he had attacked—but it didn't matter. His tail stretched almost ten feet, thin and strong, easily knocking the zombies out. Shen Yu continued swinging, swiftly taking down dozens more. He repeated this with other groups, moving invisibly between them and eliminating the threat.

After clearing all the zombies, Shen Yu returned to his room and closed the door, reverting to his normal form. "Perfect. With invisibility, I can approach the zombies unnoticed. With my tail, I can strike with surprise. This way, I avoid unnecessary risk," he thought, satisfied. The second floor was now completely clear.

[Ding: Host killed the zombies. Received 30 points.]

Shen Yu froze. "Points? I can earn points by killing zombies? Right… there's a shop in the system!"

He opened the system mall, and a vast array of items appeared—everything imaginable. After thinking for a moment, Shen Yu purchased ten water bottles for 10 points, five instant noodle packs for 10 points, and baby food jars with a teether for 10 points.

Looking at his points now empty, he smiled. These were the essentials—enough to survive for about ten days.

Opening a pack of instant noodles, Shen Yu ate with pure joy. "In my previous lives, I barely had anything to eat. Now I can enjoy this…"

He drank water and burped.

"Wahhh!" The little one woke from her nap and started crying again. Shen Yu's mood shifted from happiness to frustration. "Morning, you cried. Afternoon, you cried. Night, you cried. How much can one person cry?" he scolded.

He took out the baby food jars and began feeding her. As she ate, her tears stopped, and she looked up at him with a happy expression.

Shen Yu, ever impatient, said, "Why are you eating so slowly? Can't you speed up?"

Her little face flushed red, almost on the verge of crying. Shen Yu quickly put the teether in her mouth and smiled. "Want to cry? Sorry, but you can't. From now on, enjoy this teether—it's sweet and will distract you."

Meanwhile, in the group chat, messages poured in.

"Ah, this morning, there was so much noise on the second floor! Does anyone know what happened?"

Liu Mei replied, "I peeked… all the zombies on the second floor are dead."

Another voice chimed in, shocked: "How is that possible? Who could have killed them?"

Wang Xiao quickly took control: "Alright, now that the zombies are cleared, everyone from the second floor should come to my room and bring me any food. I will distribute it to those who wanted it."

The chat echoed in agreement: "Okay, I'll support it." Another added, "Yes, I'm coming."
