"It seems you forgot that my son has another Luna who is pregnant," she continued, sounding smug. "Do you not understand that you need to win our hearts more than ever? You are in a competition now."
I watched her in silence before offering her a smile.
"No, not at all," I replied calmly. "I was the one who told Kash to let Lara stay here. I am against throwing out a pregnant woman." I paused to smile for her.
"I suppose we can remain one happy family."
The moment I said that, I saw Lady Vivian's color drain.
"You made that decision?" she asked, placing a hand on her chest as if she might collapse.
"Why is it so hard for you to believe that I suggested Kash not kick Lara out?" I asked, dragging the topic because she looked disturbed, and I liked what I was seeing.
"You are probably lying," she accused. "You must have fallen at his feet, cried, and begged him to kick her out. When he refused, you decided to tell everyone it was your decision so you could save face."
