Lara's arrival back at the mansion hinted that it was not going to be easy for us to be happy. Of course, we could not expect her to walk away.
She was Lara. She gave her crown to this man.
What was worse was that Kash's mother had brought her in. She gave her son a look that made it clear she would not allow him to drop her from his life just like that.
When he questioned her, she handed him some documents.
"What is that?" Kash demanded, opening the files.
They looked like test results. That alone twisted my stomach.
"Read them carefully. You will understand what it is," his mother replied, casting me harsh glares.
Lara stood to the side and did the same. She even looked at Zoe as if Zoe was the reason I was here.
Kash opened the documents while I stood beside him, unable to see the pages.
Then I watched him crush the results in his fist. I already knew whatever he read was not something he had ever expected.
