Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 {Star Galaxy Group}

"Mum, my garden was destroyed," Melody said, letting out a long, weary sigh. The laughter and chaos of the previous moment seemed to fade as she brought the conversation back to the immediate issue.

{Rosemary is so petty, destroying my garden? Fine game on, bitch,} Melody thought with a simmering anger, her mind already formulating a plan for retribution.

Suddenly, a highpitched voice cut through the air.

"Host host! There is a mission!" TangYuan exclaimed excitedly, bouncing on the balls of her feet. Melody frowned, her expression darkening slightly. TangYuan was her AI assistant—a sophisticated program designed to manage her affairs and provide strategic guidance—but she often had a tendency to be overly enthusiastic and prone to launching unexpected "missions."

{What mission? That's annoying!}

{Wait a moment show me my profile! System show me my profile! Also where is my reward card!} Melody was so angry TangYuan sighed as a holographic screen popped up in front of her no one owe aside from her can see this system screen.

Melody nodded her head, her frown deepening as she studied the holographic screen.

{TangYuan, where is my reward card?} Melody thought impatiently, wanting to access the benefits that came with her system.

Melody wanted her reward card now. TangYuan rolled his eyes—a subtle display of exasperation that only Melody could perceive. As if on cue, a sleek, silver card materialized on the screen before her. Everyone in the room looked at Melody, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and bewilderment as they wondered what she was observing. Melody's inner voice had saved them so far, but she could gain rewards for completing missions and achieving milestones within the system.

Elijah was so excited he gripped onto Melody's arm, practically vibrating with anticipation.

{No way! No way! Elijah, this damn brother is hurting my arm!}

Elijah and everyone in the room were visibly shocked. Star Galaxy Group was a laughingstock in the esports world – a company teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, with no one willing to even consider acquiring it.

"Darling Host, look online," TangYuan prompted, his tone unusually serious.

{Online?} Melody thought, a flicker of curiosity replacing her initial frustration.

Melody looked at her phone, and her eyes widened in disbelief. The top news story splashed across the screen detailed a stunning development: a mysterious CEO had purchased Star Galaxy Group. The article was filled with speculation about the new owner's identity and intentions, but one thing was clear: the company's fortunes had suddenly taken a dramatic turn.

Diego also picked up his phone, his eyes scanning the headlines with growing interest.

"Of course," Diego murmured, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.

"No one knew about this CEO. It's…remarkable." He glanced at Melody, a newfound respect shining in his eyes. Whatever this system was that she possessed, it seemed to be capable of truly extraordinary things.

The room fell silent as everyone absorbed the news. A bankrupt company suddenly revitalized by an unknown benefactor? It was a plot twist worthy of a drama series.

Melody stared at her phone, her mind racing. A failing esports team...a mysterious CEO...and somehow, she was now connected to it all through this bizarre reward card.

{This just got interesting… and complicated,} she thought, a spark of determination igniting within her. {Maybe this isn't so annoying after all.}

"Host darling, it's you! You are the mysterious CEO," TangYuan declared excitedly, practically bouncing with glee.

{You are annoying!} Melody thought, letting out a frustrated groan. She really hadn't wanted any of this, but now it seemed she was being thrust into a role she hadn't asked for. The thought of managing a company, let alone an esports team, filled her with dread.

"I don't care about it but now I have to find esports players," Melody thought to herself, already bracing for the inevitable headaches and challenges that lay ahead.

"Brother!" Melody said suddenly, her gaze fixed on Elijah. A new realization had dawned on her, sparked by the connection between the reward card and the esports world.

{This brother is an esport star!} Melody thought excitedly.

"Brother, you are an esport player."

Elijah, basking in the attention and the sudden shift in dynamics, was undeniably arrogant. He wrapped his arms around Melody, pulling her close in a possessive gesture.

"No worries, let brother teach you!" Elijah declared with a confident smirk.

Of course, Elijah and the rest of the family decided not to tell Melody about her inner voice – TangYuan and the system – even if they wanted to, they weren't able to. It was a closely guarded secret, known only to Melody herself.

Elijah grabbed Melody's hand and led her into his gaming room—a sprawling space filled with highend computers, ergonomic chairs, and walls adorned with vibrant esports posters. He stopped before a stateoftheart gaming setup and turned to face Melody, his expression serious for the first time since the revelation.

"Alright," Elijah began, gesturing towards the screen.

"I will tell you four simple rules of esport games."

Melody blinked a few times, still trying to process everything that had happened in such a short span of time. She slowly sat down in one of the ergonomic chairs, feeling slightly overwhelmed by the sudden responsibility and the unfamiliar world she was being thrust into.

Elijah leaned closer, his voice dropping to a more conversational tone.

"First, understand your game," Elijah began, his voice dropping to a more conversational tone.

"Know the mechanics, the characters, the maps—everything. You can't strategize effectively if you don't have a solid grasp of the fundamentals."

Melody nodded slowly, trying to absorb his words. It sounded simple enough, but she had no idea where to even begin.

"Second," Elijah continued.

"Teamwork is paramount. Esports aren't about individual skill alone; they're about synergy and communication within a team. Learn to anticipate your teammates' moves and coordinate your actions accordingly."

{Teamwork? I'm used to working alone,} Melody thought wryly, remembering her solitary pursuits and her preference for independent problemsolving.

"Third," Elijah said, his gaze intense.

"Adaptability is key," Elijah said, his gaze intense.

"The meta—the current strategies and trends—constantly evolves. You need to be able to adjust your playstyle, your tactics, and your team compositions on the fly to stay ahead of the competition."

Melody nodded, understanding dawning on her face. It was like a chess match, where the board and the pieces were constantly shifting.

"And finally," Elijah concluded, leaning back in his chair with a satisfied smile.

"Discipline. Practice makes perfect. Dedicate yourself to honing your skills, analyzing your mistakes, and constantly striving to improve."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"Esports aren't just about having fun; they're about dedication, strategy, and relentless pursuit of excellence."

Melody looked at him thoughtfully, taking in his words.
