Chapter 32 - Date

That night, Jugo went out with Kin as planned. Neither of them was really tired, they arrived a day early and were able to rest and the four days of the second exam were very easy.

The preliminary matches were also easy, so that night, neither of them planned to rest and they went out together.

Kin wore her long, almost floor-length hair tied in a long braid, as well as a long black yukata with red flowers and traditional Japanese wooden clogs.

Her face was slightly flushed as she walked beside Jugo, a slight smile on her lips, very happy with the situation.

Jugo also wore an orange yukata with white diamonds and wooden clogs like Kin's, courtesy of Dosu.

The pair walked side by side through Konoha's shopping district. Jugo looked at Kin with his head bowed thoughtfully, she looked very cute like that.

From Dosu, he learned that she is 17 years old, although she looks younger due to her petite frame.

Jugo laughed, thinking the girl was two years older than himself, yet she looked even younger than him.

But he has to say he had a baby face before, it was the potions that sharpened his features and made him look older. Nowadays, no one would guess he's under 18, but unfortunately, you have to be over 21 to drink in Japan.

Even more so with a world based on feudal Japan.

Of course, as a ninja, no one really cares. If you're old enough to kill, you're old enough to drink.

Jugo looked at Kin's long braid, and his mind wandered to the upcoming exam. He'd been thinking about strategies for the pair of companions for some time.

His first thought for Kin was chakra threads like Suna's puppeteers.

The reason is simple, they don't cast shadows. Shikamaru won't be able to use his shadow to follow the shadow of the chakra thread. Plus, unless you have a dojutsu, it's very difficult to see those threads.

But looking at her hair, he remembered that Jutsu of Jiraiya's, both shooting hair like senbon, growing hair to curl and pierce the enemy, can also serve as defense.

Even if she were caught by Shikamaru, she would still have a way to defend herself, assuming she became proficient enough to use it without hand seals, even if weaker.

In any case, even if it wouldn't be useful in a month, it would be useful in the future. He wondered if Orochimaru had that jutsu with him.

Jugo also imagined something for Dosu, his opponent is Naruto.

Naruto is tricky, in his normal state, it's easy for Dosu to beat, but Naruto continues to get back up and, moreover, can use the Nine-Tail's chakra to enhance himself. At this point, Dosu can only rely on the power of this world's chosen one.

Of course, Naruto isn't without weaknesses these days, the biggest being that he can only attack head-on and has no strategy whatsoever.

This means that once you blind him, he'll just turn into a raging bull.

Thinking about his fight against Zabuza, the Hidden Mist jutsu works extremely well for Dosu. Even if he doesn't have the water chakra nature, he'll just need to consume more chakra to release this jutsu. He can also reduce the need for water by bringing a sealing scroll filled with water.

With his hearing acuity, he'll be like a duck to water, while Naruto won't be able to do anything.

Jugo is ready to train Dosu to fight without his sight next month.

With the Chakra threads, Kin already has a chance and Dosu has a great chance with the Hidden Mist. At most, they can seal a large amount of ready-made mist in a scroll and only open the seal during the fight.

Jugo's chakra nature also includes water. He's considered learning Dosu's hearing ability. His jutsus aren't bad either, but he'll have to wait and see what Orochimaru has in store for him.

He felt the potion inside him, it was about 80% digested. His strength had grown during this time, but the first two sequences of this path are quite common and even the Berserker state is more of a trap.

Shaking his head slightly, he turned his eyes to Kin and gently took her hand. Kin looked up in shock. Jugo didn't mind. He'd been busy with work in his last life, but he'd still had a few girlfriends.

Due to the speed at which his life moved, he lost girlfriends frequently, to the point where he learned to speed up the process. If they accepted, he wouldn't be wasting his time.

Besides, he knew perfectly well what Kin wanted and didn't care himself. Just hold her hand. For Westerners, this is very common, many even go to bed on the first date, let alone just hold hands.

But this isn't a Western world, but a Japanese one. Kin's face was extremely red now. She wanted to run away for a moment, but the next moment, she gripped Jugo's hand tighter, refusing to let go.

Just kidding, that was exactly what she wanted. She might have been going a little too fast, but that was also good.

For Kin, not only was Jugo strong and could protect her, but these days of traveling had made her realize that Jugo is still very kind most of the time. At least, besides releasing his aura, he's never done anything to hurt her, even helping her.

This made Kin think that Jugo is just a sinister guy on the outside, but warm on the inside.

As for all the deaths he'd caused, smiling like a sadist, she selectively forgot.

Jugo had only invited her to eat together, but when she went to collect, she said "date." Clearly, she'd understood that on her own and Jugo hadn't corrected her. In any case, she was pretty and he wouldn't lose anything from it. If something happened, good luck.

He was sure that if he tried, he could get her to bed right now. If it were him in his last life, he would do just that. After all, he had little free time and just wanted to relieve stress, but here, it was different.

Jugo felt great in this world, finally free from all the office hassles. His stress had decreased significantly and he could now take things slowly.

At the very least, he wouldn't just use the girl and toss her aside like before.

He didn't regret what he'd done before. After all, they were all adults, and he didn't have the free time to be romantic, but now he could take things slower and appreciate the feeling.

Jugo felt as if he had finally reached his long-awaited retirement. For a moment, he felt like fishing.

Putting aside his old-age mentality, Jugo was still clear that this world wasn't an easy place to live. In just two or three years, the circus would start to burn.

He needed to prepare. Klein used that time to become the Fool, so why couldn't he?

Of course, he just hopes the advancement ritual doesn't involve being out of history for 300 years like Klein. Otherwise, he can only hide somewhere and hope for the best. He needs to be at least an Saint to participate in the fourth ninja war.

If he becomes an Angel he will feel much safer.

In this world with its power levels broken, even as a god, he doesn't feel invincible.

So, even if Jugo simply wanted to live an ordinary life, he wouldn't stop until he could protect himself, that is, become the Father of Devils.

Kin nearby felt Jugo's large hand on hers and lowered her head even further, but gripped his large hand firmly, afraid Jugo would suddenly let go.

He didn't let go. Jugo took her to eat sushi, the pair sitting side by side while the Sushi Chef prepared everything in front of them.

Jugo looked at Kin for a moment, unsure of what to say.

Hobbies? In Otogakure, not dying is a hobby. Family? 99% of them are orphans, sometimes even courtesy of Orochimaru. Dreams? "Not dying" is already the biggest dream, that or serving "Orochimaru-sama", but neither Kin nor Dosu seemed particularly loyal to Orochimaru.

Anyway... he continued to try to think of something that wouldn't make the conversation awkward and uncomfortable, but he soon realized that was more difficult than expected.

So he simply talked about training. -Kin, how do you plan to handle the exam a month later?

-No need to worry, Jugo-sama, that guy with the stupid face will be easily defeated.- Kin promised quickly with a haughty look.

But Jugo could see the insecurity underneath.

But in Otogakure, the insecure are prey, you have to be better than the other side to survive, or at least pretend to be better.

But Jugo didn't care about that and simply started speaking his mind to her, chakra threads and hair control.

Kin's eyes lit up, but she soon became sad again. She was well aware of her talent, and besides, Jugo said he would ask Orochimaru-sama for their training. But she didn't have much faith that Orochimaru-sama would help her. Even so, she was touched that he thought of her. Kin even grew closer to Jugo after that.
