**Lingering Uncertainties**
I sat in silence, my hands clasped nervously in my lap, fingers twisting against each other restlessly.
I attempted to appear composed, but my heartbeat thundered too violently to dismiss. Every moment, my gaze flickered toward Irvin next to me, observing the street ahead with his characteristic steady assurance. Yet nothing about this situation felt ordinary to me.
I still couldn't comprehend how events were unfolding in my world right now...
Only weeks earlier, Irvin could hardly glance my way without appearing repulsed.
And now I was living in his place. He was driving me to and from work?
The identical man who previously detested my company?
It felt staggering.
