Davina's POV
I pushed through the staff changing room door, and the second it clicked shut, I could sense someone watching me.
"You're dating Irvin Jenkin."
The tone cut through the air. Direct. Harsh.
Celeste.
I pivoted slowly. My coworker—someone I'd thought was a friend until now—stared at me like I'd sprouted horns.
I blinked, already reaching into my bag for my work shirt.
"You've been lying to me this whole time," Celeste declared, crossing her arms like I'd personally wronged her.
I exhaled slowly, too emotionally exhausted for this drama. I didn't bother looking up as I pulled my uniform over my tank top.
"Actually, I never lied," I said evenly. "Last time you brought it up, I stayed quiet. You decided on your own that Irvin Jenkin dating me was impossible."
Celeste started to respond, but I interrupted, my voice gaining an edge. "And honestly, you're the last person who should lecture me about keeping secrets."
That silenced her momentarily. Her eyes became slits.
