I kept quiet about the unicorn party around my sisters and mom.
No way was I spilling that secret.
I wanted to witness their reactions when they discovered the truth. Calista's face especially.
I couldn't wait to see her expression.
The closer the date got, the more I found myself lost in thoughts about the event and what I'd wear. Today was finally the day of the unicorn party.
I stretched out in bed, my pulse already quickening.
Part of me still struggled to accept this was actually real.
I was heading to the unicorn party with Irvin Jenkin as my date.
The same guy who seemed so far out of reach that I never dared approach him. Now he whispers "baby" in my ear and kisses me like I'm everything to him.
My phone vibrated softly next to me. I grabbed it, blinking away sleep as I focused on the screen. A text appeared.
"Good morning, beautiful. I sent someone to come pick you up. You're getting the full treatment today. See you at the party. I love you."
