While the alien battleships may have paled in comparison to the human warship, they were still not to be trifled with. The one Michael and the crew targeted was several dozen kilometers in length. more a flying fortress than a simple ship.
"Contact established." Michael said as the legs of his mech reached the veil of the ship.
But there was no time to celebrate. Being this close meant that the target ship focused all its firepower on them, deeming them the biggest threat.
"Spread out!"
To avoid being completely surrounded, they formed a circular formation, with Claire at the very center, using her heated lance to slowly carve a hole in the ship's armor.
Fortunately, she was familiar with the procedure, and it didn't take long. The moment a large hole opened up across the ship's hull, she commanded the others to move inside while she held off the alien shuttles attacking their rear.
"Make haste!"
