"Answer yourself, 'hero', who are you and what business do you have in my domain?"
She zips past the stairs and appears right in front of me. She smells like dried up blood and a hint of lemon. Kinda a weird.. description. BUT she is looking at me with disgusted eyes. Looking down on me from the moment we meet. wow. I'll just tell her the truth.
"My name is Kami Kazuto. I died and was reincarnated into this world. Maybe as a gift from God or a prank from Satan. I just want to live a normal life away from conflict and live well. I mean you and your people zero harm and would be very happy if you would just let me leave your domain without any bloodshed."
"Your insolence is amusing. What makes you think I'll allow you to leave without even a little scratch? Humans are always up to something sneaky or disgusting. Why would I ever? I hate humans. All of you are scum. What makes you think I won't just kill you right now for the way you have spoken to me?"
She looks at me with a deadpan expression, only shifting her hips when standing idle. I, on the other hand, have been shaking like I just saw a ghost doing a trick on a unicycle. I'm absolutely terrified. I really don't want to die.
"Well, if you kill me, then another hero will just replace me eventually. But, how about this? If I promise to never harm you directly with my own hands, then would that suffice for you to let me leave?"
She looks revolted, but ponders for a moment.
Estria walks towards me and with her sharp nails makes a cut on her right palm and mine.
"OW WHAT WAS THAT FOR!!"
"It's a binding contract of blood. It makes it physically impossible to break the exact terms of the verbal contract. Say, 'by the rules of the world, I promise' and then your contract terms, then we shake hands, and it is done."
"BY THE RULES OF THE WORLD, I PROMISE I WILL NOT DIRECTLY HURT ESTRIA THE DEMON TYRANT BY MY HANDS FOR AS LONG AS SHE DOESN'T WANT OR TRY TO KILL ME!"
"By the rules of the world, I promise not to kill the man known as Kami Kazuto unless the world depends on his demise."
We shake hands, and my hand starts to glow. A strange golden and red light begins to shine from the blood on our hands as they heal and seal up.
"Great, now kami, you will now be my lapdog until you prove yourself worthy of my mercy."
Is this bitch crazy?
"BITCH ARE YOU CRAZY?!" WOOSH
A tall man with shiny chocolate skin is walking to kami with his hand out, pulsating with dark lightning. He had thrown a bolt of lightning towards his head, and a tiny slit appeared on Kami's left cheek.
A deep booming voice drums in the ears of the boy. "Hold your tongue, child. You will show respect to the queen of this land."
Jeez, is that just him talking? It's so loud I'm surprised my ears aren't bleeding!
"Ah, yeah, sure. Sorry, Lady." He puts his hand behind his head and chuckles, looking more nervous than before.
Estria, on the other hand, walks up to him. She has a look in her eyes that screams pity.
"Kami. It's time for you to be my dog."
Ugh
"Fine, what do I have to do to prove I'm worthy, your 'highness'?" He gives a sarcastic bow, tugging on his shirt on opposite ends like a princess asking for a dance.
She smiles, starts to chuckle a bit, then full-belly laughs.
"PFFAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh kami, you amuse me!"
"Do I amuse you enough to not become your dog?"
"Well..." Her smile gets a bit more devious. "Well, How about this!" Her Hands start to glow as well as kami, and she does something... but what?
As I open my eyes, I feel a bit... different?
"Um, what do I feel so light, and.. AM I SHORTER!?"
Estria giggles. "Wow, quite the natural beauty, aren't ya kami! HA."
"No, you didn't."
"Oh yes, I did!"
I feel up my body. My chest has these soft, plump parts on it. My legs are shorter, my- Okay, you don't need the details, perv.
"You turned me into a girl!!" He... She. What do I call the main character for now? Ahem, {Said in the voice of the Jujutsu Kaisen narrator's voice} The person known as Kami Kazuto appears to be terrified at this revelation. The way this hero used to speak, walk, and the mannerisms used are wiped, reset, and replaced.
"Yeah, I did! Want to bow to me again, cutie!?"
"Could you stop mocking me, Jeez..."
"Prove yourself. Go through that dungeon with a party of humans, and then find a way to dispel the gender swap spell I created. That alone is worth praise. If you can do this, then and only then will I let you leave my kingdom."
Simple enough!
"Yeah, that's easy ill get on that! HOW CAN I FIND HUMANS IF I CAN'T LEAVE THE DAMN KINGDOM!!!"
"Uh, yeah, I didn't think about that... Let's make a new contract, you will come back in a day or you die!" Estria says this with a beautiful smile, masking the wildness of her words as she cuts her hand and slaps it onto the palm Kami sliced.
"By the rules of the world, I promise to come back before dawn tomorrow," I say with a smile to hide my fear, she could probably see through it, let's be safe than sorry.
"By the rules of the world, I promise to let you leave at your leisure if you can dispel my spell on you on your own."
And with those words spoken and my hand still bleeding, I was off to the town closest to the demon territory. I'd assume that's where the strongest people will be, as well as I'm hoping to get back sooner, then dead-er. (sounded cooler in my head)
As I arrive on foot because "riding a horse is too easy," damn Tyrant, I find a town so different from the demon kingdom, a beautiful place with tons of humans of all colors and sizes. It looks similar to Earth in many ways as well. Building with proper structure and skyscrapers, holy shit, it's amazing. I thought this world was primitive; it's pretty damn far along, about right where we were in 2023 back on Earth. There's smart phone's, Domesticated animals, those could be familiars though, Animated shows, TVs, computers, all sorts of junk. Just who in the hell was reincarnated here! Even the ground here is cement. The building looks identical to those in New York and Tokyo; there are big LCD screens everywhere.
As I walk into the city, a huge alarm starts ringing in my ears, and I can't seem to get inside the city. Three Guards rush to me in medieval clothing. Can this world pick a damn era?
The lanky one on the left speaks up to me after clicking a button on his shirt that stops the ringing. "Hey! Can we have a quick word with you, madam!?"
Madam? Oh yeah I'm a girl for now. Forgot. Plus I thought I was going to be destroyed. That's a relief. "Absolutely, yeah, what's up?"
The lanky one speaks up once more in a more stern tone than before. "You are not in trouble at the moment, but we are going to ask a few questions. That alarm only plays when a demon that is unregistered with the kingdom or the hero is trying to come into the city. Are you one of them, and if so, what business do you have with our city?"
I look visibly confused. "Um, so like why wouldn't you want the hero in your city? And why have the same alarm for the hero and demons you don't want?"
The slightly fat, darker one speaks up. He appears African and some race I can't put my finger on... nothing I've seen in our world. "Listen, as a hero's descendant, I'll tell you from my own mouth. Since the Demon Tyrant took over the Demon King's throne, she has tormented this land for centuries. Over the past 400 years, she has been calm and seems to kill the hero every time one is summoned without harming us. Sometimes we see her try to sneak into the city with the skin of a hero on. It's disgusting, REPULSIVE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND IT'S DEMORALIZING! Every time the alarm goes off, it's because she is there, so we just changed what it looks for, like if it's demon magic trying to come through, hero aura, or each monster category."
I speak with a shocked face on. "Whoa, she's that bad?!"
The one in the middle speaks up. He looks pretty average but seems buffer then the others. Other than that, he's pretty normal, very Japanese, though, weird. "Yeah, that's not even the half of it, so what's up, why are you here, and who are you?"
"I am kami, I am the hero summoned from another world to save you all. AHHHH I ALWAYS WANTED TO SAY THAT! But yeah, I'm the hero!"
The lanky one speaks up. "The hero, Is a girl? No way. NO WAY!"
