Chapter 155 - Parker's Company

A few days later, Peter enrolled at Columbia University, officially beginning his college journey.

And, using the excuse of the school being far away, he moved out of his home.

He bought two high-end apartments in Manhattan, and they happened to be an entire floor.

He would live in one, and he planned to tear down the other and convert it into a private laboratory.

He had previously considered renting a floor in the original Stark Tower.

Unexpectedly, his previous research results were more profitable than he had imagined.

The Web-Slinging Optical Microscope had become a best-seller, bringing him a steady income of hundreds of thousands of dollars every month.

But that was just a small part of it.

The real money was still in the polymer biomass fiber materials.

Besides the original SPC-120703 Polymer Biomass Fiber Material, Peter had successively launched SPC-90214 Polymer Biomass Fiber Material, modeled after Shadow Spider-Man's web, and SPC-1610B Polymer Biomass Fiber Material, modeled after Blonde Spider-Man's web.

Although they were all web fiber materials, some subtle changes in their molecular structure allowed them to exhibit different characteristics, making them suitable for use in various scenarios.

As a result, this new web fiber material was now selling very well on the market.

Peter's smooth admission to Columbia University was also closely related to the success of these web fiber materials.

In fact, after Peter's campus interview was released, he received offers from no less than ten universities within a few days, all of which offered full scholarships. Some even guaranteed him the status of a student of a certain professor as soon as he enrolled.

It was important to know that this status was different from that of ordinary students.

Ordinary students only had the right to attend classes, but this status allowed for private consultations and, if necessary, could even get you into the lab and be promoted to a lab assistant.

Too bad, Peter had made up his mind.

But he didn't put on any airs, carefully replying to each of them.

After all, he might need to get a degree from them in the future.

Furthermore, these schools all had their own specialties, and shouldn't be underestimated. He'd have to deal with them sooner or later.

Back to the main topic.

As Peter's web-fiber materials became increasingly popular, Tony Stark, to avoid trouble, simply bought a subsidiary for Peter and put it under Stark Industries.

This company, called "Parker Polymers," was originally a nearly bankrupt materials company before being acquired and renamed. It was managed by a manager sent by Stark, and Peter himself didn't participate in the actual management, but he received fifty percent of the dividends.

Peter had calculated that, based on current market conditions, Parker Polymers could bring him nearly ten million in pure income every month, and this income was steadily increasing.

A company that was only created a few months ago, hadn't gone public, and didn't even have a full staff could generate this kind of net profit. It was enough to make many people envious.

And note, this was just pure profit, the amount of disposable cash added to Peter's account without affecting the company's normal operations.

He could spend all the money if he wanted to.

So, Peter not only bought two high-end apartments on one floor here, but also bought the property rights to the original Spider Squad's base of operations.

At this point, he finally had complete personal freedom!

Peter finally understood the benefits of having money.

He no longer had to worry about Aunt May finding out when he snuck out at night or when his soul went to other worlds!

And, with his own private little lab, he could stay at home and verify many of his ideas one by one.

In the future, he could also bring Betty here, hehehe.

Peter thought dreamily.

Teenagers at this age have a surge of hormones, making them prone to... well, you know.

Sometimes it was Peter, sometimes it was Betty. Both of them had moments where things got pretty heated.

But they both had a sense of restraint, knowing this wasn't the right time.

After sorting out his personal affairs, Peter began to slowly get used to his new college life, and also found he had more time to focus on other things.

First, there was the matter of Taskmaster.

Stark had investigated for a long time and finally pieced together the whole story.

Recently, he had told Peter about it.

Actually, when Taskmaster first arrived in New York, his initial order was to ambush Spider-Man and collect a blood sample.

General Dreykov, the person in control of the Red Room, wanted to study Spider-Man's superhuman secrets using his blood sample.

But just as Taskmaster arrived in New York, the Red Room was attacked by Black Widow.

Due to Black Widow's attack, Taskmaster was left in a "standby" state. Losing control, she could only rely on her instincts, extracting and executing commands from her original programming.

This led to her attack on Peter at the school.

Shortly after, the Red Room was completely destroyed, and Black Widow returned to see Stark.

She also brought Stark an antidote to remove the toxin controlling Taskmaster's body.

Thus, the Avengers gained a new member—"Taskmaster" Antonia Dreykov.

She possessed combat skills comparable to Black Widow and Captain America, Hawkeye's archery skills, and outstanding infiltration capabilities.

Her earlier reckless behavior was simply due to being controlled but lacking specific instructions.

In reality, she had undergone even more rigorous training than Black Widow, theoretically making her even more capable.

In the current state of the Avengers, with a shortage of talent, it's no wonder Stark took her in.

Peter also met Antonia at the Avengers base.

She looked to be only in her twenties, with brown hair and a very sexy and hot body due to long-term training. This physique was even more evident after she took off the Taskmaster armor.

Considering Stark's history as a playboy, Peter always felt he had ulterior motives. However, for some reason, Antonia seemed quite interested in Peter. Every time Peter saw her at the Avengers base, he had to fight her, causing Peter to avoid her every time he went.
