But at the same time, the unfinished building was filled with exposed metal scaffolding and numerous hollow steel tubes—construction materials waiting to be installed.
Those could be used to generate sound waves.And sound waves were exactly what countered the black symbiote.
Bzzt!Peter's spider-sense tingled.
He kicked the black symbiote away, leaped upward—
—and a massive sandy fist smashed through the space he had just occupied.
Sandman had finally reformed.During Peter's fight with the symbiote, he'd crushed open each sand-filled bag one by one and restored his full-size sandy body.
Seeing Sandman back again, Peter felt a headache coming on.
This guy was a slow, lumbering brute—not a real threat.But Peter couldn't ignore him either.
If one of those massive sand fists hit him, the impact—several tons of sand thrown at high speed—would be enormous.
Like being hit by a small car.
Worst of all, Sandman was nearly unkillable.
Even when Bully Spider-Man smashed him into the sewers and washed him away, he still crawled back eventually.
"Maybe high temperature could work?" Peter thought.
Sand is mostly silicon dioxide, and silicon dioxide melts at around 1650°C, turning into a crystalline, glass-like substance.
But in theory, that's only a physical change.
If Sandman's ability was simply to control sand, melting him should work.But if he could control the material in a more scientific way, he might still manipulate the "crystalline sand" formed after melting.
If that was the case, Peter would need to change the sand's chemical structure.
Such as reacting silicon dioxide with hydrogen fluoride gas to form silicon tetrafluoride.
Or using hot phosphoric acid, borates, or boron oxide to corrode him at high temperatures.
Only then could Sandman be destroyed completely.

Peter scanned the area where the black symbiote had been.
Bang! Bang! Bang!Suddenly, gunshots and screams erupted from below.
Peter jerked his head down.
The black symbiote had somehow appeared in the crowd beneath the building.Police officers surrounded the area, firing at it—but bullets only made its body flinch slightly before absorbing all the kinetic energy.
Panicked civilians screamed and ran in every direction.
Among them, Peter saw a familiar figure—
Mary Jane!
"Damn it!" Peter cursed.The symbiote must have realized he couldn't defeat Peter directly, so it targeted Mary Jane instead—planning to use her to restrain him.
In the crowd, Mary Jane was terrified.
After being rescued earlier, she had followed Peter's instructions and left the building, staying in the nearby crowd to observe what was happening.She was deeply worried he might lose.
But she never expected the evil black suit to notice her.
And bullets didn't work on it at all.
The black symbiote walked toward her step by step.Close-range gunshots only made it pause—then absorb the force completely.
Combined with its demonic, twisted face, its oppressive presence was overwhelming.
"Where do you think you're going?"A giant sandy hand swung toward Peter.
Boom!
Peter pretended to be caught off guard and let the sandy hand smack him downward.But with his arms crossed in front of him, he braced and absorbed the impact.
And if Sandman had tried to grab instead of slap, Peter could have broken free instantly.
Luckily, things didn't go that direction.
Using the momentum, Peter plummeted downward at incredible speed—
The fastest way he could reach Mary Jane.
"Please let me make it…"
At the same time, Sandman realized Peter's intention.His sandy mass dispersed and reformed as he chased downward.
But the black symbiote reached Mary Jane first.
It swatted aside every police officer in its way and stood before her.
"Ah!"Mary Jane grabbed a thick steel bar she'd found and stabbed it straight at the symbiote's head.
"Heh."The symbiote tilted its head, easily dodging.It snatched the steel bar from her with one hand.
"Mary Jane Watson…Tell your boyfriend to stop resisting. Otherwise, I will—"
Whoosh!
A figure shot in from afar, scooping Mary Jane into a bridal carry while tossing a pumpkin-shaped bomb.
Beep… beep… BOOM!
The pumpkin bomb exploded right on the black symbiote's face.
And the person carrying Mary Jane—wearing a green armored combat suit, riding a glider—
Was Harry Osborn.
The second Green Goblin.
