Chapter 5 – Libertus
The roar of the arena shook the stones of Capua. Ten thousand Romans cheered as steel clashed on sand, their laughter and wagers drowning the screams of dying men.
In the tunnels beneath, chains rattled. Captured rebels, whipped and bloodied, were forced into the light — condemned to die as entertainment for their former masters.
Above the din, horns blared.
The gates burst open.
---
The Storm Arrives
Spartacus led the charge, sword flashing as he cut down the guards who turned too late. Behind him, Crixus bellowed like a beast, splitting helmets with every blow.
And then came Ivar.
For the first time since the rebellion began, he strode into the arena not as fugitive but as Gemina Ferrum reborn. His green armor gleamed under the sun, twin swords drawn, sea-green eyes blazing like fire in storm clouds.
The crowd gasped. The boy they had once mocked as novelty now returned as legend.
"Twin Steel!" voices cried. "He lives!"
---
The Clash
Chaos flooded the sand. Rebels broke chains, weapons were torn from guards, blood sprayed in every direction.
Ivar fought with ruthless precision, his twin blades a blur. He hooked a Roman's shield with the longsword, drove the short sword into his ribs, and spun to cut another across the throat in the same breath.
A spear whistled toward his back — he dropped low, letting it pass over, then rose with both blades crossing in an X, splitting his attacker's face.
Every movement was cold, efficient, unrelenting.
Above, Romans leaned forward in horror and fascination. The name Gemina Ferrum spread through the crowd like wildfire.
---
The Rescue
Spartacus reached the prisoners, hacking their chains apart. Oenomaus roared as he tore free, his strength renewed.
"Brothers!" Spartacus shouted, his voice thundering above the chaos. "Rise, and claim freedom!"
The rebels swarmed, turning the tide. Soldiers fell, the arena shook with the weight of rebellion unleashed.
Ivar climbed the steps toward the stands, cutting down guards with brutal speed. A Roman senator shrieked as the boy's sea-green gaze fixed on him. For a heartbeat, Ivar's hand twitched — the blood in the man's veins called to him, begging to be silenced.
But Ivar clenched his jaw, turning the urge aside. He struck with steel instead, cutting the senator's guard down before the noble fled screaming.

The Aftermath
The arena burned. Rebels poured into the streets, the city itself trembling under the weight of their defiance.
In the chaos, Spartacus found Ivar, both men bloodied but unbowed.
"You fight with fury, yet your mind stays calm," Spartacus said, chest heaving. "Without you, we would be ash beneath Rome already."
Ivar's sea-green eyes glinted, calm even in triumph. "Without the gods, neither of us would stand. Remember that."
Spartacus looked at him long, and though he gave no answer, something deeper than respect had taken root.
Behind them, the chants of the freed filled the streets.
"Spartacus!"
"Gemina Ferrum!"
"Freedom!"

⚔️ Do you want me to continue into Chapter 6 (Episode 6 – Chosen Path) where the rebellion grows but loyalty begins to fracture, and Ivar starts testing his psychological warfare, or would you prefer a short interlude chapter first showing how Romans in Capua are now terrified of both Spartacus and the boy they call Twin Steel?
