Chapter 110 - Chapter 106-Naruto, If You Don’t Roll, What Kind of Hokage Are You?

Hiruzen Sarutobi nearly choked on his own pipe smoke.

"Cough—cough—!"

"One hundred tasks?!"

He stared at Naruto as if the boy had suddenly announced he was going to overthrow the Daimyō.

"Even if—hypothetically—you could finish that many, what about the other Genin? Do you want to leave the entire mission roster empty? How are the other teams supposed to train?!"

His gaze shifted sharply to Kakashi.

"Kakashi, you can't let them run this wild."

Kakashi scratched the back of his head with a sheepish smile.

"Ah… well… I actually already promised them. The cat-finding mission ended quickly, and, well…" He paused, then added without hesitation, "It may sound immodest, but Team 7 really is the strongest."

Hiruzen's eyebrows shot up. "Kakashi. Why would you indulge them in this nonsense?"

"Hmm… think of it as a special training regimen unique to their… ambition."

Hiruzen exhaled long and heavy, clearly weary.

"Fine. I can assign you a few more tasks. But only a few."

He shuffled through the stack of mission scrolls on his desk, plucked out seven or eight at random, and handed them to Kakashi.

Kakashi didn't even glance at them before handing them all directly to Naruto.

"Here, Naruto. Missions accepted. How long they take to finish depends on you. And next time, don't brag shamelessly in front of the Hokage."

Naruto grinned, practically vibrating with confidence as he hugged the stack of scrolls.

"Don't worry, Kakashi-sensei! Hokage-sama! I'll definitely complete all these missions today!"

Just then, the door to the mission office swung open.

"Hinata-mi? Sasuke-mi? And—Naruto?!"

A familiar voice carried in. It was Ino Yamanaka from Team 10.

Hinata's eyes brightened immediately. "Ino! You're here to take missions too?"

Naruto looked over and spotted the whole Ino–Shika–Chō trio. They were his old friends—people he'd known since the academy. His face lit up.

"Shikamaru! Choji!"

Choji's eyes widened when he saw the pile of scrolls in Naruto's arms.

"Naruto… why are you carrying that many missions?!"

"That's all the missions we're doing today!" Naruto proclaimed proudly. "I'll finish one hundred tasks in seven days!"

Ino–Shika–Chō froze as if lightning had struck them.

Ino threw up her hands. "Competing with everyone in the Ninja Academy was one thing, but you're still like this after becoming a Genin? Is that really necessary, Naruto?!"

Before Naruto could answer, someone else entered—hands in pockets, cigarette between his lips.

Asuma Sarutobi.

His expression was its usual mix of annoyance and quiet frustration—especially whenever he had to deal with Hokage-related formalities. But when he saw Naruto, his eyes softened.

"Well, well… Naruto. Still working harder than everyone else, I see."

Naruto beamed. "Asuma-sensei! You're here too!"

"I'm the jonin leader of Team 10 now," Asuma replied with a relaxed smile. "Of course I'm here."

He glanced at Kakashi. "But I've gotta say… Kakashi, you leading a hardworking team? That doesn't fit your personality at all."

Kakashi shrugged lazily. "I'm just accepting missions for them. How many they complete is their business. They don't really need much help from me."

"Mm. Sounds like you, all right," Asuma muttered.

He stepped toward the Hokage's desk. "Hokage-sama, Team 10 is here to request missions."

Hiruzen flipped through the remaining mission sheets, then cleared his throat.

"Well… Team 7 has taken almost everything for today. Only one mission remains: assisting with childcare."

Asuma froze.

"…"

Shikamaru groaned. "Childcare? That's not a mission—that's punishment…"

Ino jabbed a finger at Naruto. "This is your fault! Why did you have to take all the missions?!"

Naruto only chuckled. "Well… you guys came late! Asuma-sensei, sorry! If you want better missions next time, come earlier!"

"Hinata, let's go!"

"Mm—ah—okay, Naruto-kun…"

"Goodbye, Ino…"

"Hmph!" Ino puffed her cheeks, glaring. "Little Hinata, you look way too happy…"

Hinata, blushing furiously, hurried out after Naruto.

Sasuke, with hands in pockets and eyes closed in disinterest, simply followed without a word.

Kakashi waved lazily to Asuma as they left.

The entirety of Team 10 stared after Team 7—overwhelmed, confused, maybe even a little horrified by the sheer determination (or insanity) they'd just witnessed.

And that day marked the beginning of Naruto's mission-clearing rampage.

The Days That Followed

Sorting vegetables.

Catching insects.

Plowing fields.

Watering crops.

Finding cats.

Capturing stray dogs.

Herding cattle.

Tending sheep.

Collecting garbage.

Conducting neighborhood character reviews.

Cleaning warehouses.

Delivering supplies.

Every mundane task the Hidden Leaf could assign—Team 7 did it. And Naruto attacked each one with reckless enthusiasm.

In just five or six days, Team 7 had completed seventy or eighty missions without stopping.

By the final day, only twenty missions remained. Naruto, fueled by determination and the system's demands, practically bullied Kakashi into accepting every last remaining assignment.

This even included a C-rank mission—escorting a client safely through bandit-infested territory.

Under Naruto's relentless pace, Hinata and Sasuke were dragged into a storm of constant work.

Byakugan.

Sharingan.

Taijutsu.

Ninjutsu.

They used every ability they had, operating at full power day after day without a moment's rest.

The upside: both Hinata and Sasuke experienced tremendous growth.

The downside: they were quickly approaching their breaking point.

After all, neither of them were Naruto. They hadn't experienced his system-forged trials, the pain of lightning-release baptisms, or his absurdly high endurance. Their bodies—and nerves—simply couldn't keep up.

Meanwhile, other teams suffered indirectly as well.

Team 8, led by Kurenai—Sakura Haruno, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame—often arrived only to discover that all missions had already been taken.

Team 10, Asuma's team, suffered the same fate. With Naruto sweeping the board clean, they often had no choice but to go home empty-handed.

The Seventh Night

Team 7 worked deep into the late hours of the seventh night.

Kakashi was perfectly fine, of course. Most of the time, he kept his hands in his pockets or held his little orange book in front of his face, reading at a leisurely pace while the kids worked themselves to exhaustion.

Hinata and Sasuke, however, were barely standing. Both were pale, drained, and wobbling with every step.

Naruto, in stark contrast, looked as energetic as ever—bright-eyed, buzzing, almost gleeful.

Suddenly—

Ding!

A familiar voice echoed inside Naruto's mind.

> [Congratulations, Host. You have successfully completed one hundred missions in seven days. You have earned a random system reward. Would you like to receive it now?]

Naruto's heartbeat quickened. Last time he completed a similar achievement, he received the Wind Release ninjutsu Wind-Cutting Blade. What would he get this time?

His response was instantaneous.

"Yes!"

> [Congratulations! You have obtained the ninjutsu: Wind Release—Great Breakthrough!]

Naruto's grin widened immediately.

Another Wind Release technique! Perfect!

Wind Release: Great Breakthrough.

In essence, it was a simple technique—one that most wind-type shinobi could learn to some extent. But its simplicity was also its strength.

Asuma called it a "blow-them-away" style technique. Its power depended entirely on the user's chakra.

A regular ninja could only use it to kick up dust, knock down a few trees, or create a brief gust.

But someone like Orochimaru could produce a gale powerful enough to wipe out an entire forest.

Naruto's chakra reserves were nearly unmatched. Once he mastered this technique, the scale of the winds he produced would undoubtedly be terrifying.

He couldn't hide his joy. Even in his exhaustion, his face lit up as if he'd just received the world's greatest prize.

Hinata noticed his expression and tilted her head.

"N-Naruto-kun… why are you smiling like that?"

Naruto paused and looked at her. Her face was pale, her movements sluggish, clearly on the verge of collapsing. Sasuke wasn't much better.

Even though they'd all worked together, Naruto knew the real reason they were exhausted was because of him.

He scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"Aha—nothing! It's just… Team 7 finished one hundred missions in seven days! That's amazing, right? We're totally incredible!"

Sasuke tried to scoff, but he was too tired. All he managed was a weak exhale.

Kakashi, meanwhile, was flipping a page in his book.

"Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto complained. "Aren't you going to say anything?!"

Kakashi finally looked up.

"Hm? Oh. A hundred missions, right?"

He nodded as if acknowledging something trivial.

"That's impressive. As expected of Team 7—led by me, the genius Kakashi Hatake."

Naruto pouted. "Kakashi-sensei, you didn't do anything. You were just following us around!"

"That's the role of a jonin leader," Kakashi answered casually. "New genin need training. Leaders supervise. It's a perfect arrangement."

"Only a fool would believe that!"

Kakashi snapped his book shut.

"All right, all right. Enough missions for now. Naruto, you were crazy enough this week. Starting tomorrow, don't delay real training anymore."

Naruto groaned internally. Do you think I wanted to chase cats and herd sheep all week? Blame the system! Who wants to do mundane missions every day?!

But aloud he said:

"Okay, Kakashi-sensei! Tomorrow I'll listen to everything you say!"

"That's the attitude I like."

Kakashi waved lazily before strolling away, book in hand, as if he had just finished a pleasant evening walk instead of supervising the most overworked team in the entire village.
