Chapter 5 - Birth of a Demon (3)

Though the plan he had in mind was extremely dangerous. It was the only one he could come up with off the bat.

Quickly, Raziel moved from his spot, settling atop the branch of another tree. With the camouflage skill still active, he was able to hide his presence and keep watch at the same time.

"Did you hear that?" The mohawk guy said, staring at a distant tree.

"Nah, probably some weak beasts scurrying away," the other one said lazily. "Let's just check a bit further, then we head back. This is a complete waste of time."

"Yeah, about having a hot time with one of those damn maids," the mohawk guy said with a wistful sigh, drawing shapes in the air with his fingers.

"Ahhh... lucky bastard." The other guy muttered with a grin. They continued forward, finally reaching the devastated area. "Those kids really went out, huh?" He muttered with a wry smile.

"Well, I'll be damned. It seems they've created another set of monsters again. I bet–"

The mohawk guy spat out and then froze mid speech. His brows suddenly creased as he stared at his surroundings.

"Hey! Watch out," he muttered. From his palms, a long whitish bone shot forward, impaling a large creature that had materialised from thin air, leaping towards his companion.

"Damn it," the other guy muttered with a frown. They leapt backward just in time as the ground exploded, sending debris flying across the area. A humongous worm with rotten flesh emerged from the large hole, letting out a loud shriek.

"Hey Bo, handle that damn worm! We've got incoming!" The mohawk guy shouted as more jagged bones sprouted out from his palms.

"On it," Bo grumbled, dashing forward. His feet suddenly exploded in flames, propelling him towards the giant worm. Clenching his fist, they were wrapped in a fiery glow as he punched forward.

A loud bang echoed across the area as the worm crashed to the ground with a shriek.

"Stay down!" He muttered, punching down over and over again. Dark blood splattered across the ground with each swing of his palms. The creature finally stopped moving, its body riddled with fist sized holes with blood gushing out.

Wiping the blood off his face, he stared at his companion. "Dammit! I thought they would be smart enough to realise we're far above them in strength. Are they that daft!"

On the other side, the mohawk guy was facing a large grotesque looking creature with countless dangling limbs. He weaved through, evading its attacks while counterattacking with his white bones.

The bones were exceedingly sharp, easily cutting through the limbs they fell upon.

Bo watched calmly, eyes shining in excitement. 'This is good, though. At least I get to blow off some steam.' Scanning the area, he suddenly caught sight of a figure running away from the periphery of his eyes.

"Huh? Who said you can run away now!" He roared, exploding forward.

The two figures dashed through the wrecked terrain. One was elusive, fading into the surrounding elements and appearing in distinct places.

The other was a walking disaster. The jungle was slowly getting set aflame. "Dammit! How the hell does it keep on disappearing!" Bo exclaimed. Straining his senses, he soon caught sight of the figure again, metres away from him.

"Trying to lead me to a trap, huh?" Bo was quite aware of what the figure was trying to do, but he didn't really care. After all, he was an Inner realm human. A high-ranking one at that. No creatures were supposed to pose a threat to him in this dimension.

Hell! If the heirs were able to stay in this hellscape for over two weeks, why couldn't he?

"You won't escape me this time around!" Slamming his feet to the ground, flames blazed behind his foot, condensing into a thin streak before exploding, propelling him forward.

Bo flashed through the jungle, his body an orange streak as he closed the gap between the figure, dashing past him, and finally stopped before him with a boom.

He stared at the area they had stopped for a moment. An ominous terrain with scanty trees. The earth was jagged with the mist surrounding the area thicker than the other parts of the jungle. His gaze finally fell on the figure as he spoke loudly.

"Now you've got nowhere to run–" He stopped mid step, staring at the figure before him once again with wide eyes.

"What the hell! I–Impossible!" He exclaimed, eyes filled with shock.

"Don't tell me he got possessed by one of those damn creatures. But no Demic of that level was supposed to roam this pocket dimension."

The figure stared at his hands, which finally knitted back completely and then stared at Bo.

"Don't worry. It is me... in the flesh and blood." The figure calmly said, his sapphire eyes glowing faintly.

...

Raziel had kept track of the duo, watching them with keen eyes. From witnessing their first battle to successfully gauging their strength, everything he needed to know was set. It was time to kick off the plan.

The flame user guy posed a great threat and would be the first to go. Climbing down the tree and suppressing the camouflage skill, Raziel's presence was soon revealed.

The flame guy was the first to notice the new presence. The rest that played out led to their current situation.

Bo stood, his face twisted in shock. 'How the hell was Raziel alive? The scum of the Shindo clan? No! It was impossible! The news had been confirmed by the Elders themselves.'

Their task was just to retrieve his remains... something which they found quite funny given where they had left it. He didn't expect to see the whole figure before him and worse... alive and kicking.

"You! Y–you... you're supposed to be dead!" He exclaimed in confusion.

Raziel stared at him, his eyes gleaming faintly. "Are you sure you should be asking that right now? I would be worried about my survival right now."

"What are you talking ab–"

Bo froze for a moment as a terrifying aura spread over the area. It wasn't from the boy before him, he realized.

Suddenly, he felt a presence behind him.

Hovering behind him was a dark figure. Its hunched back covered in red patchy fur. Its long hands –six in total, dangled down to what seemed to be a mess of flesh which twisted to form hind limbs.

Its face was by far the most terrifying part. An oval–shaped head with an opening filled with rows and rows of teeth.

Bo hands were already in motion as the creature opened its maw, its jaw extending further as it prepared to swallow the measly being in one go.

A large explosion rocked the area as his fist clashed with the creature's head. He had only managed to stop the creature's advance, saving his head from the terrifying maw.

The creature stared at him for a moment, eyes burning brightly, before letting out an ear splitting scream and then...

Chaos ensued.
