Chapter 1 - PAIN

What did I do to deserve this? How could life be so cruel?!

In a dimly lit cell, the bulb flickered incessantly, casting an eerie shadow on the darkened walls of the prison cell.

drip….dip...drip

Water dripped from the loose water tap into the already yellow colored wash basin

At the far end of the cell, a huge dark figure is seated on a short bench, its massive frame casting a menacing shadow in the already dark prison cell

Trevor is an American behemoth standing at an impressive 6 feet 5 inches. Dark hair, brown eyes, with a Gastly cut running from under his left eye across his nose to his right cheek.

He is a giant in his own right, but sadly this giant was bound and caged like a lion in the zoo. Wild? Yes, but bound and caged for entertainment and monetary purposes

But it wasn't always like this, Trevor was once a spirited young man who, after overcoming a tragedy that involved his parents' death. Where the blame was thrown on his shoulders, and he was painted and portrayed as the killer.

Toiled for years, living in the ghetto, eating cheap food, and changing jobs like changing a baby's diaper, finally realized he had had enough of this shitty life and was done with this self-righteousness and constant hope that something would change, which never did, but got a whole lot worse.

And for exactly how it went down let's take a look at his past

Trevour pov

I was a young graduate fresh out of college thinking life was good, everything was looking up or so I thought

Disaster struck like a thief in the night. On the eve of my graduation ceremony, my parents and elder brother boarded the plane to fly over and celebrate with me. I woke up to a phone call that forever changed the trajectory of my life

The plane crashed!!!

Boom!

My heart stopped for a brief second before pounding as though it would burst, my head thundered like a thousand horses were marching at the same time, sweat soaking my clothes in seconds. Knuckle turning white fingers digging into my flesh they drew blood.

The phone dropped from my hand, and the world went blank and colorless. My heart rate spiked to the heavens and I blacked out

Waking up in a hospital, the day of immense joy had turned to a nasty tragedy. I was weak all over, and pain couldn't express my state at that moment

My lovely parents, fifty at the time, were still young and agile, healthy, with no sign of sickness.

They made sure they stayed healthy, we were rich so yeah.

But life still played its dirty trick on us

I was devastated just stared blankly at the white ceiling of the hospital, the slow hum of the machines and the constant beep of the electrocardiogram. The smell of antiseptic and drugs mixed together irritated my nerves

Was at this for minutes till the nurse and the doctor walked in

"Good morning Mr Trevor Words cannot express our deepest apology and sympathy to you and your family" The doctor said. Our sincere condolences, sorry for your loss "he concluded

He went on about how the establishment was deeply sorry for my parents' death and it was my roommate Daniel and some others who rushed me to the hospital after I fainted

And as the grief I was going through wasn't the universe dicided to add another dose

it was time to pay!

"Sir, your bill is $6000", The doctor said, flashing his signature white teeth at me.

I had wanted to punch his punchable face so badly but that could have made it a whole lot worse

Then it dawned on me that all his epistle and epilogue about his sympathy were just for the payment. We still live in the capitalist world of ours. Ironically, my parents were one also.

Sighing, "Can I get my wallet? I requested it was on me when I fainted, so it should be with you guys. My cards are in there "

"Except you don't need your money" I added sarcastically. They provided it and I tried the first card

Card declined!

My face twitched, my heart racing sweat beading down my forehead a strange tension setting in, tried the second one

Card declined!

At this time the doctor's face was already frowning his face all scrunched up brown held up and gazing at me like a hungry wolf ready to pounce on its prey.

To cut a long story short, I tried all five cards and they all got declined.

Soaked in sweat, teeth clattering, I was shaking legs trembling under the intense gaze of both the doctor and the nurses, I requested my phone and tried reaching out to my friend but to no avail they didn't pick, my heart sank

I tried my roommates number, he was also my best friend a close buddy of mine.It rang a few times and the line went dead.

Tried calling my father's sister because we were kind of close. It rang a few times and finally connected

A sigh of relief escaped my lips face lighting up in joy

"Aunty sarah, yeah I heard the news...yeah.... it's bad....ummm... am like in a bit a pinch right now. yeah my cards aren't responding I think they're frozen also wanted to know what's up"I said

The line went flat for some second,my heart skipped tension setting back in

"Hello, aunty sarah....."I trailed of

"You don't know do you? " aunty sarah said over the line, her tone ominous

"Know what?" I asked a bit scared her tone felt dangerous

" Your accounts got frozen"sarah said causing me to lift my eyebrows quizzically

"Why?! " I asked raising my voice a bit, lips twitching my bearing returning

"you still don't know ?" aunty sarah said her tone quizzical

"Know what!?" I raged, voice rising several octaves " I got a phone call that the plane had crashed i got into a coma and I just woke up three days later!!" I thundered
