So, my days where as booring as you would expect them to be, with me being a reclusive introvert in my university studying environmental science for my degree, since i always wanted to experiment and explore the world on a deeper level, both here and virtually, especially in the game of genshin impact, where adventure is everywhere, but what caught me thinking was the main character in the story "Aether". He was always my favourite and I could see that he was a character with soo much potential, being like the "Avatar" of teyvat who could use different elements and abilities that are outside the system. Heh, sounding like a classic anime protagonist who is unique in the system of there world setting.
But as i was walking across the street, hearing rushing after listening to the news of a new Tensura "That time i got reincarnated as a slime" manga was out, I just Had to Go home and read it. But as I was walking across the street, I realized that there was screaming in the distance as i was on my phone with a girl behind me yelling "WATCH OUT!!!!!!!"
The screech of tires. A blinding light. The unmistakable roar of a horn."TRUCK—!!!"
That was the last thought I had before everything went dark.
In the Void
When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in a hospital, or on some celestial plain of angels and harps. I was floating in a black void, the kind of endless nothingness you only read about in novels.
"Well, that was unfortunate."
The voice was smooth, amused, echoing across infinity. A figure emerged from the darkness — ageless, shifting between a man in a suit, a woman with flowing silver hair, and even a ball of light.
"...You're ROB, aren't you?" I asked flatly.
The figure chuckled. "Random Omnipotent Being, yes. You mortals seem very fond of giving me that nickname. I'll allow it."
I sighed. "So, I died to Truck-kun?"
"Indeed. A most classic, statistically improbable, yet narratively convenient accident. Don't worry, no one blames you. Well—except maybe your ribs."
I grimaced. "Yeah, that tracks."
ROB drifted closer, eyes — or what passed for them — glowing like stars. "Now, as compensation for your terribly anticlimactic death, you are entitled to reincarnation. Any world you choose. With five wishes."
My jaw nearly dropped. "Five?!"
ROB smirked. "Think of it as… a premium membership package."
The Wishes
I steadied myself. If I had five wishes, I couldn't waste them. I already knew where I wanted to go.
1st- First Wish."I wish to be reincarnated as Aether, the Traveler, from Genshin Impact. But not just the base Aether. I want all the skills and abilities of Rimuru Tempest from the light novel, but only with his unique skills, so that i can build my way up like he did. Including some skills of my own that I have invented. These skills include;
1) Great Sage – full analytical, parallel computation, chant annulment, item reproduction, appraisal, and replication.
2) Predator + Iron Stomach – devour, analysis, mimicry, isolation, absorption of skills, and adaptation.
3) Degenerate – synthesis & separation of skills/abilities.
4) Evolver – evolving abilities beyond set limits, skills grow and advance through combat and experience.
5) Limitless - non stop growth in train any ability, skill or art style infinitely over and over,
6) Traveller – seamless adaptation to new worlds/environments, perfect adaptation to the environment, reduces harmful side effects.
7) Polymath - once-in-a-generation talent to the user in all things they attempt to learn. From cooking to swordplay, crafting to martial arts, the user is considered an unparalleled genius in every field. Effect: Increases learning speed and proficiency by 100 times.
8) Blessing of the Voice of the World – grants recognition, skills, or evolution from feats.
9) World Sage – access to Irminsul knowledge via Statues of the Seven.
perfect adaptation to the environment, reduces harmful side effects.
10) Magicule Battery – almost limitless generation of magicules (to later evolve into Magicule Breeder Reactor)
11) Adaptive One -Allows you to get used to the same way of attacks or harm after a few times it becomes useless as the user 's skill is unharmable from this type of attack and harm. Allows users to adapt without a limit and time. Allows users to evolve when adaptation can't cover some type of weakness or condition it happens naturally but if it causes an after effect that displeases the user it will adapt according to the host liking this process can take a lot of time and unknown how long it's gonna continue. Allows user to not be harmed by skills that he already has but that is used against him.
12) Skill Creator/Maker - Allows the user to convert there magicules into physical materials to be able to create anything that the user imagines and want, especially skills to be upgraded into unique skills.
ROB raised a brow. "Ambitious. You realize Rimuru's skill set is essentially… infinite?"
"Exactly."
ROB was silent for a long time, as if considering the absurd amount of unique skills that I've requested, but also commented with intrigue saying - "Very Interesting, some of these skills you listed like "Limitless", "World Sage", "Polymath", "Traveller", "Evolver" and "Adaptive One", and "Blessing of the VOICE OF THE WORLD (VOTW)", where not part of Rimuru's original skill sets at the beginning of the story. He only had "Great Sage" and "Predator" at the beginning. Its as if you want the full premium package of unique skills, What's up with that?
"Well, I've been interested and in love with the story of Tensura for so long, that I=In my free time back on earth, I would create my own set of unique skills that would help me on if I where to be reincarnated, as well as reading online fanfiction of other peoples ideas of unique skills that I would want to add on as well. Never thought that it would happen, though, so I want to try to see how it works" I said hoping that my genuine request can help me gain these skills I wanted.
ROB chuckled. "I like you already. Granted."
2nd - Second Wish."
"I wish for a Body capable of adapting and evolving with me to handle all of my skills, acting as a perfect conduit for the Magicule Battery. Like Goku from Dragon Ball Z, whose body constantly develops to handle his massive Ki, and can adapt during fights, as well as training to develop new skills/techniques that he has in his arsenal. I want Aether's body to be a vessel of limitless potential, overflowing with and adapting to the immense magicule energy, similar to Goku's body but in Aether's humanoid form."
"A foundation to support the framework," ROB mused."Wise. A powerful engine is useless without a chassis that can handle the speed. Your new form will be a self-evolving, perfect conduit. Your potential will be truly boundless. Granted."
3rd- Third Wish."I want Projection Magecraft—Trace On—from the Fate series. I want high-quality magical circuits and the ability to project even divine constructs. With Great Sage, I'll analyze and strategize which weapons from "Unlimited Blade Works" work best against my enemies."
"Ah, the faker's art," ROB chuckled. "Not just creation, but comprehension and replication. A perfect tool for a being with an analytical supercomputer in his soul. To pair the Sword of Promised Victory with the wisdom to know when to swing it... an elegant combination. Granted."
4th - Fourth Wish."For my fourth wish, I want every time I touch a Statue of the Seven, to not only regain my health and gain a new element, but also unlock all elemental powers associated with that element across different universes. That means:
- Naruto Universe — elemental ninjutsu and kekkai genkai. ("Great Sage" can act as an archive for memorising/recording handsigns, to the extent that I can use justu's with or without the weaving the hand signs).
- Black Clover Universe — elemental magic without needing a grimoire ("Great Sage" can act as an archive for memorising/recording grimoire texts, with using the magic without chanting the spell)
- Tensura Universe — elemental manipulation skills.
- Avatar/Korra Universe — bending and sub-bending abilities/skills. (With the "Second Wish", my body should be able to adapt and change between fighting styles and bending techniques without much limitations/stagnation)
And thanks to Rimuru's 'Degenerate' skill, I'll be able to combine, evolve, and master them infinitely."
ROB actually clapped. "Oh, marvelous. Truly marvelous. You're creating the ultimate elemental prodigy. Granted."
5th - Fifth Wish: "Finally, I wish for a method to upgrade my Unique Skills into Ultimate Skills through trials and labyrinths, like Hajime Nagumo in Arifureta. This is because, I don't want to sacrifice souls or my previous skills like Rimuru did in the story, I want to keep my humanity in check. I want to earn this ascension through my own effort, hard work, and by overcoming challenges you set for me."
ROB was silent for a moment, the void seeming to hold its breath. "This... this is the most interesting wish of all," he said, his voice now serious, devoid of its earlier mockery. "Power is easy to grant. The desire to earn it, to seek growth through struggle... that is rare. You wish for a hero's journey, not a cheat code. Very well. Scattered across Teyvat, hidden in deep and forgotten places, will be Labyrinths of Ascension. Conquer them, and your skills will evolve. Your Great Sage may become Raphael, Lord of Wisdom. Your Predator may become Beelzebuth, Lord of Gluttony. But you will have to fight for every step. Is this acceptable?"
"Absolutely," I affirmed, my spirit blazing with anticipation.
"Then it is done," ROB declared, his form beginning to brighten until it was the only thing in the void. "Your wishes are granted. Your new life awaits. Go forth, Aether. Show Teyvat what it means to host a being of limitless evolution. I will be watching... with great interest."
Departure
ROB floated back, light radiating off them. "Very well. I, ROB, grant you all five wishes. You shall be reborn not just as Aether, but as something beyond. A being who will shake Teyvat to its core. A Traveler of Infinite Growth."
The void began to tremble, a portal swirling open behind me. I felt my soul being tugged forward.
The void began to crack, streams of light spilling through.
"Your wishes are daring, mortal. Your spirit… unyielding. You shall awaken in Teyvat, as Aether, but reborn as something far greater—an existence beyond fate. With Rimuru's boundless potential, and the Traveler's destiny."
The stars bent, forming a tunnel of light. The pull of gravity returned.
"Go forth," ROB intoned. "To Mondstadt, to Liyue, to Inazuma… to a story rewritten by your hand. Surprise me, mortal, as you already have. The world of Teyvat shall tremble at the coming of Aether Tempest."
"Go, child of worlds. Impress me."
I smirked. "Oh, I will."
And with that, I stepped into the portal.
Prologue End
When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in the void. I was standing in Teyvat, the wind brushing against my face, my hand reaching instinctively for a sword that hadn't been there before.
Aether's body. Rimuru's power. My soul.
This was my second life.And I was going to break the limits of every world.
