Chapter 45: Mission Accomplished
A genius of magic and a genius of technology, working together with all sorts of wild ideas, their respective "Armors" were completed very quickly and were already close to perfection at this stage.
After completing their respective equipment manufacturing, the next step was naturally the display segment. Sherlock and Tony began to put on their gear face to face.
Sherlock, on his side, can be said to have brought magic to its extreme. With just a pull of the collar cord, the pure black suit with dark gold patterns and a golden-edged jacket, twisted and flew out from the collar button of the cord, showcasing its unique magical characteristics.
In almost the blink of an eye, it had already attached itself to Sherlock's body. The next second, Sherlock, who was originally standing still, had transformed into a gentleman wearing a very cyber-punk style helmet and an exceptionally well-fitting suit.
Sherlock almost perfectly embodied the mystery and elegance of magic.
On the other side, Tony brought technology to its extreme. The Mark Five, the size of a briefcase, quickly began to cover Tony's entire body with a stomp, a lift, and a pull.
Countless armor plates, like pieces of armor, aggregated one by one, enveloping Tony's body. Because of Sherlock, the Mark Five, compared to the original, had two Arc Reactors arranged vertically in its chest instead of one, due to increased energy consumption.
Upon completion of the wear, both reactors lit up simultaneously, emitting a capsule-like glow.
Furthermore, inspired by the Destroyer Armor and with the help of Sherlock's magic, Tony's Mark Five could even rotate and shift its plates to concentrate some armor for defense against heavy attacks.
Coupled with the addition of the Destroyer Armor's metal, the overall improvement of the Mark Five was not just a little, it even had a bit of the feel of Tony's later nano-armor.
One could say that both had their own unique characteristics, but when they truly put on their respective "Armors," they both looked at the other's "Armor" with utter speechlessness.
Whether it was because the scientific side and the magical side were naturally at odds, or because Sherlock was a mage and Tony was an iron tank, the two started to mock each other with various taunts as soon as they appeared.
In Tony's view, Sherlock's outfit, aside from being flashy, was utterly useless and full of flaws. As long as Tony wanted, Sherlock's cuffs, pant legs, and so on were all weak points that could be attacked.
Tony could even think of no less than five attack methods, such as poison gas, insects, nanobots, etc. In Tony's opinion, Sherlock's outfit was useless except for preventing sneak attacks from a hidden opponent.
In Sherlock's opinion, Tony's armor looked not much different from those knights of the Middle Ages, especially with the addition of the Destroyer Armor's plates, it looked even more like those iron cans wearing scale armor.
To put it bluntly, if there were a real team fight, Tony's role would at most be that of a front-line tank, as iron as could be. The only difference was that the color of this iron tank was as flashy as ever.
The two of them, with such extreme tacit understanding in disliking each other, then simultaneously complained, making Pepper, who was the audience for the display, laugh so hard she almost couldn't breathe. She even felt for a moment like she was a mistress intruding on Sherlock and Tony's relationship.
Fortunately, Pepper only thought about it and didn't reveal it. Otherwise, Sherlock and Tony's eyes would probably not be disdainful towards each other, but outright disgust. (No discrimination intended, purely for plot purposes!!)
After they argued for a while, neither could convince the other, so they naturally became too lazy to continue arguing. Moreover, after being busy for so long, both Sherlock and Tony genuinely felt hungry.
Especially Sherlock, who had just finished his trip and immediately came to Tony's Villa to immerse himself in endless research. Sherlock felt at this moment that he particularly needed a delicious meal to comfort his stomach.
Fortunately, Pepper was still as shrewd and capable as ever. She had long known the habits of these two men and had already arranged everything.
Sherlock naturally wouldn't stand on ceremony with his uncle and future aunt. After devouring many delicious high-end ingredients like a whirlwind, he finally wiped his mouth with satisfaction, ready to bid farewell and go home.
After all, he had been away for so long, and now he was full and content. Sherlock at this moment deeply missed his soft, large bed in his own doghouse.
Tony naturally had no objection to Sherlock's departure, but he had a huge problem with Sherlock not forgetting to move a case of expensive fine wine, where one bottle could buy a raptor, from his wine cellar even when he was leaving.
However, it was clear that Sherlock wouldn't care about Tony's opinion. He nonchalantly threw the wine into the back of his Shelby, secured it, and after a quick greeting, left behind 20 bottles of antidote, 10 bottles of White Moss Potion, and 2 bottles of Polyjuice Potion before driving away in his beloved car.
Time was tight and the task was heavy. Sherlock still needed to get presents for his uncles. After all, he had been out gallivanting for so long, and if he didn't bring something back, he would probably be tormented badly by his uncles.
Sherlock said he really couldn't stand the pranks of his military-trained uncles. Just thinking about it, Sherlock felt like he was getting PTSD.
Driving quickly to a shopping mall in the city center, Sherlock had planned well. For Soap, who was a handkerchief enthusiast, buying an expensive, comfortable, dark-colored handkerchief would be enough to appease him.
Even Ghost was easy to deal with. While Sherlock was making his "Armor," he took advantage of Tony's home to make a skull mask similar to his own helmet.
It also had an offline version of Jarvis built into it. Coupled with Ghost's box of original skull masks, Ghost's combat power would definitely go up another level.
Price, that old man, was even easier to handle. Just give this balding Grandpa a hat that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing. After all, this man was someone who never took off his hat in front of anyone.
As for why Sherlock knew this man was balding, Sherlock could only say it was a mistake he made when he was young and ignorant. The Price Sherlock paid for that mistake was so great that Sherlock would get teary-eyed just thinking about it.
In short, it's all tears when you talk too much.
As for the gifts for the remaining uncles, they were also easy. This was why he went to Tony's wine cellar. Two bottles of good wine for each, neither Soap nor Gaz would have any objections, and they might even be happy for a long time.
Soap liked to collect all kinds of famous wines; it was a kind of collecting habit. As for Gaz, he truly loved to drink and had been envious of Soap's collection for a long time.
These small details also gave Sherlock a feeling that his group of uncles were real people and not "characters" who walked out of a game.
In short, this feeling was unexpectedly not bad.
