Adrian's POV.
I'm tired of mediocre companies, proposing deals they can't keep up to. I'm about to attend yet another business meeting with Leviathan ent. looking to become business partners for a project that they believe could possibly crash the stock market and make us triple rich. The idea is intriguing, but the level of possibility is very low. I don't know how it'll work, but I guess that's what the meeting is for.
I take my usual seat at the head of the long glass table. Everybody takes their seat and I'm met with an unfamiliar face, sitting directly opposite me. I've had meetings with Levithian ent. a couple of times but I can swear I've never seen this lady in my life.
She seems interesting, but I can't be distracted. I immediately look away when her eyes leave her paper. But apparently, not being distracted by her appearance would be the hardest job, since she is beginning the meeting.
She stood up from her seat and my cock twitched in my pants. Have some self control. I have seen beautiful women in my life, but none like her.
She began talking and it was then I looked at her properly. Long brunette hair, sky blue eyes, plump red lips. She has on a white shirt and a red two piece, waistcoat and pants that cling to her curves.
I don't know what bothered me the most, how sexy she looks in my favourite colour and how her eyes are just hypnotising or the fact that I was too distracted admiring her features and hadn't heard a word she said.
I leaned back, crossing one leg over the other. One hand draped on the armrest while the other on my chin, my gaze locking on her with unyielding intent.
She turned and pointed at the chart being displayed on the projector. "From what we can see, prices are projected to drop forty to sixty percent below their usual price immediately a crash happens. Even if it's just a potential crash."
One of my executives, Taylor, leaned forward, cutting in. "But what if investors don't buy into it and it fails before it even starts?"
A flicker of amusement crossed her face. She clicked the remote, and another chart slid onto the screen. "Thirteen years ago, mortgage backed securities and collateralized debt obligations were based on derivatives. And then the housing market crashed, the value of derivatives collapsed, wiping out billions. And yet," she pointed at the line that spiked across the graph, "within three years, the same investors who swore they were done were back in, pouring billions into derivatives that looked similar. Why?" Silence lingered in the room, before she continued. "Because investors don't just chase logic. They chase momentum and they are greedy. Every cycle proves it."
I never thought I'd see the day that I would be turned on by a woman's intelligence. Taylor is a smart man and he loves to argue but today, he had no words left. I wasn't the only one she rendered speechless.
She clicked on the remote and another slideshow displayed on the screen. "In 2015, when China's stock market boomed irrationally, Aurelian and Levithian were the first foreign companies to withdraw their funds. Soon after, 17 other renowned companies in the United States pulled out. Nobody is risking the same mistake that happened with the derivatives. Fear spreads faster than reason."
She was done speaking and I have no idea if she already mentioned it but I couldn't care less. The only reason I attended this meeting was to ask one thing.
"How would this project crash the stock market, how would we gain from it and what's the percentage share? If it succeeds."
"Mr. Cheng, I believe that if we both put our resources together, this project can be carried out successfully. We just need a huge sell of stocks in the market that would influence investors decisions. As it is now, there's a five star hotel in Los Angeles that's rumoured to be crashing slowly due to their inability to maintain the standards. If we can work together, we would be able to buy that hotel for at least 40-60% less than its usual price."
"And, how exactly do you think this would be possible?" I sat up straight now invested in her idea.
"Your company as it is now, has the largest influence across the country. For twenty one years straight, there hasn't been any downturn. That means, people view you as smart and strategic, so any action you take, can influence the decision of everyone in the USA."
"So, you're saying….."
"We want you to sell the stocks and bonds you have with my company and three other companies of your choice. My people would buy those assets under a disguise. Investors would want to copy you, we would do the same as well. So, while investors are selling for lower prices due to fear, we buy. We can buy companies for 40% less."
"But, if we buy companies, it would be suspicious since we started selling in the first place."
"Mr. Cheng, you don't need to worry about that. And, we can buy our assets back from investors at lower prices, so when the market begins to stabilize, we can sell for 90% higher than we bought."
"It's wise and it's also illegal."
"But profitable." She shot back.
I'm impressed. Many in her position would have started sweating the minute even if I simply let out a sigh, but she didn't feel intimidated. What she's proposing is a dangerous deal, for her company more than mine. But it seems she isn't scared of failure.
Fascinating.
I ended the meeting with a 'I'll consider your proposal" knowing fully well that I have in fact made up my mind, but I just want to see her again.
She walked past me and exited the room but her perfume still lingered in the air. The minute it hit my nose, self control began to feel like a punishment.
And I don't know how much I can take.
