Chapter 2 - Engagement

"Is this the only dress that fits?"

Ian flipped through his belongings, holding up his white marine uniform to size against himself, when…

"Ian, I've brought her."

Hearing Martin's voice, Ian turned around and froze when he saw the woman standing behind the village chief.

She seemed to have changed into a long white dress. While it was plainer and simpler than aristocratic attire, it fitted her tightly, showcasing her graceful and perfectly proportioned figure.

Big hips and slim waist, exactly the kind of breathtaking figure that was unique to the One Piece world.

Her long, flowing black hair added a touch of gentleness and maturity to her appearance.

At first glance, Ian seemed to see a familiar figure in her.

"What are you still standing there for, Ian?"

Chief Martin said smugly. "Hurry up and say hello to her. I was right, wasn't I?"

He even winked secretly.

"She's very beautiful, isn't she?"

"… "

She's indeed very beautiful. I won't interfere with your daughter and granddaughter's lives from now on.

Ian nodded, and without hesitation or second thoughts, he said to the woman behind Chief Martin: "Hello, my name is Ian."

"Hello, my name is…"

The woman on the other side, seeing Ian's expression, became a little shy, but she didn't act timidly. She also smiled generously, but when she started to say her own name, she frowned.

"My name is… Nico."

"...!!!"

What the hell.

"I think my name should be Nico."

(T/N: It should be Nicole, but while reading, it feels off calling Robin the name Nicole, so I changed the name to Nico.)

Just as Ian froze in place again at the familiar name, the woman calling herself Nico smiled apologetically.

"Sorry, I seem to have forgotten my real name. If it's alright, please let me stay here."

She looked at Ian with a hint of nervousness, but Ian seemed oblivious and remained frozen in place.

Village Chief Martin, standing next to him, poked Ian in the waist with a hint of disappointment and said: "Since when did you turn into the kind of idiot who freezes up just from seeing a pretty girl?"

"… "

Who said I froze because she's pretty?

He was just a little confused by the familiar name.

If it really is that person, then our Sibia Village is doomed!

Ian regained his composure and looked at Nico, who seemed both nervous and shy, with a hint of fear.

That's right, how could the Devil Child ever lose her memory?

And even if she did, how could she possibly marry someone?

What, fake amnesia just to enter a bridal chamber?

And you have to know that the Devil Child is followed by a certain admiral!

This woman's name was Nico, not Nico Robin. Plenty of people at sea were named Nico or Robin.

He put his inner doubts away, but still…

"What are you waiting for, kid? Propose already!" Village Chief Martin continued to urge.

Isn't this guy usually quite talkative?

Isn't he always sweet-talking his own daughter and granddaughter?

What's going on now?

Just standing there like an idiot?

What kind of man acts all bashful like this?

Frustrated, Village Chief Martin rolled up his sleeves and was about to kick Ian to get him moving.

But just then, Ian moved. He stepped right up to Nico and looked straight into her eyes as he said seriously: "If you want to stay, you can live here for now."

This sudden scene also startled Nico, as if she hadn't expected the shirtless man to say such a thing.

But she felt both relieved and a sense of loss.

Although she had lost her memory, there was always a voice inside her saying: "You don't belong here! You will only harm everyone if you stay! Get out of here!"

What kind of person is she?

Why is she so worried about staying here, yet so desperate for peace?

But if she stayed for a while, it shouldn't be a problem!

"What the hell are you talking about, kid? You nearly scared me to death!"

Village Chief Martin, who's sweating nervously, couldn't hold it anymore.

He jumped up and declared: "Forget it. Well, in that case, let's treat today as your engagement party. I'll go get everyone else to attend your engagement."

"Wait a minute, Village Chief Martin."

Ian quickly called after him. "I didn't say anything about agreeing to an engagement!"

"Don't worry about it, brat. All you have to do now is change into clean clothes, put on a happy smile, and hold your fiancée's hand."

Without even turning back, Village Chief Martin waved as he ran. "As for the rest, I, the village chief, will take care of it. It's been ages since Sibia Village held a wedding. Let's all have a good drink tonight."

With that, he left Ian and Nico in a hurry, leaving them helpless. "Wasn't it an engagement party? This… "

Ian looked at Nico helplessly while shaking his head with a wry smile. "Sorry, Nico!"

"It's okay..."

However, compared to Ian's helplessness, Nico, now amnesiac, seemed quite relaxed and composed.

She even gave Ian a playful smile, extended her hand, winked, and said: "My fiancé."

Tonight, the entire Sibia Village was filled with laughter.

A banquet… No, more accurately, an engagement party was being held in the open space.

Although it was simple, even the tables and chairs were put together by the villagers, and no famous chefs or special guests were invited, the villagers still offered their blessings to the couple.

But when Ian looked at the engagement banquet that Village Chief Martin had prepared for him, his lips couldn't help but twitch.

Especially when he saw all the villagers offering blessings to him and Nico, his face turned completely dark.

Wasn't it an engagement party?

Why did it look like they were getting married right away?

But at this point, Ian could only bite the bullet and walk ahead, hand in hand with Nico, who wore a smile.

As the bride and groom entered hand in hand, all the villagers shouted and cheered, witnessing the happiness of this couple at this simple wedding.

When the groom gave the word to begin eating, the entire wedding reached its climax, waves of laughter rolling endlessly like the sea.

The wedding feast… No, the Engagement banquet had begun.

However, while the entire Sibia Village was engrossed in the wedding, no one noticed that not far from the banquet, on a tree, a man with messy hair lifted his eyepatch and stared dumbfounded at the scene before him, his eyes full of disbelief.

Getting married?

Who is that man?

Is he trustworthy?

No, could someone please tell him what on earth was happening here?

How did it suddenly turn into a wedding?!

(T/N: I want to change the name from Nico to Robin, it just feels off while reading it.)
