Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Collision of Fate

Ren's life had always been a struggle. Every day seemed like a fight he couldn't win. Bills, rent, school, survival—it all piled up on him endlessly. But tonight was worse than usual. The landlord had thrown him out, and darkness had already swallowed the streets. Ren looked around helplessly. There was nowhere to go, no lights, no friendly faces, only the cold, quiet city stretching endlessly before him.

He reached into his pocket for his phone—ahhh! Dead battery. Of course My badluck alwasy follow me ahhh!. Ren groaned, frustration boiling over. Just when he thought things couldn't get worse, a shadow' s suddenly moved in front of him.

A thief's lunged at him, grabbing his bag. Ren stumbled backward, scattering papers across the street. "Hey! Let go!Hey Let megot You fucking barat" he shouted, trying to fend them off. But more hands reached for the bag. Panic surged through him. One sharp strike hit the side of his head. A sting of pain, blood trickling down his forehead.

"Why always me?!" Ren screamed, eyes darting left and right. His chest heaved as adrenaline surged. He noticed a small pile of sand near the streetlamp, almost glowing in the dim light. And then he saw it—the greed and desperation in the thief's eyes. "Why are you chasing someone who's barely holding on, you fucking Brat?" he shouted.

Ren ran. He zigzagged down the street, trying to escape. But fate wasn't finished with him yet. Out of nowhere, a luxurious black car sped toward him. He froze for a second, heart pounding. There was no time to move. Metal screeched against pavement. Ren dove to the side, barely avoiding the impact, feeling the rush of wind against his face.

The thieves froze for a moment, eyes wide. Then they scattered, disappearing into the shadows. Ren collapsed to the ground, gasping for air, trying to steady his racing heart.

The car door opened slowly. A figure emerged. Black hoodie. Piercing, cold eyes that seemed to cut through the dim night. A single Black earring glinted in the streetlight. Headphones rested around his neck, but his expression was calm, almost chilling. He walked forward with slow, deliberate steps, each one commanding attention.

Ren blinked in disbelief. "You… you're a rich brat! You caused my accident… and now you—"

The boy smirked faintly, pulling out his phone. "Give me your number," he said casually, as if asking for it was the most normal thing in the world.

Ren froze. "You're asking for my number… after breaking my hand and almost causing my death?!"

The driver stepped forward quickly. "Young master Kai…" he said quietly, giving Ren a nervous glance.

Ren's heart skipped a beat. Young master! ? The son of a wealthy, powerful family… his mind raced. He had read about people like him—untouchable, untouchably cold, yet somehow magnetic.

Kaito, ignoring him, took Ren's phone and unlocked it effortlessly. He handed over a crisp 60,000 won. His deep voice low and commanding: "Don't take this case any further." Then he turned, slipping back into the car, expressionless, leaving Ren stunned and trembling.

Was this boy human, or some kind of robot? Ren watched the car start moving. Through the mirror, he caught Kaito's eyes. Cold, serious… but beneath the surface, a trace of sadness lingered. A strange shiver ran through Ren's chest. Something about this boy… something about tonight… felt important.

Before he could gather his thoughts, Ren heard a shout behind him. The thieves were back. But the moment had passed—they saw the car, froze, and finally disappeared into the darkness.

The next day, Ren finally found a room to rent. The monthly rent was steep, but it was all he could manage. "This flat is very popular," the house owner explained. "Rich tenants everywhere. But you needed a place, so I made an exception. 20,000 won per month."

Ren nodded reluctantly, pulling out the cash. "Fine, I'll pay," he muttered.

The owner added, "Oh, and another roommate will stay with you."

Ren groaned. Great, just what I needed—more complications. But he had no choice.

He spent the rest of the day decorating his room, arranging his meager belongings, finally collapsing onto the bed. Just as he was about to relax, his phone rang. Leo, his friend, was calling.

Leo"Hey! Where have you been?, I was worried! Some thief attacked me last night, and I even got into an accident! Are you a friend or an enemy?" Ren said breathlessly, almost shouting.

Leo's voice was apologetic. "I'm sorry, man. I drank too much last night and didn't check my phone. But hey… your admission results came. Starlight University. Did you get in?"

Ren leaned over his laptop. A blurry image of a girl flashed across the screen. He sighed. "I need to focus on myself right now," he muttered. Then he noticed his name on the acceptance list. He had made it.

The next morning, Ren rode his bike toward Starlight University. Time was tight, and he asked a fellow student about submitting his admission form. The student quickly guided him, and Ren rushed to the office, submitting the form just in time.

As he turned to head to class, he collided with a shadow.

"Kaito!" he whispered, heart skipping.

Ren stared, wide-eyed. The same cold, intense gaze, the same icy smirk. Papers scattered across the ground. Both reached for them simultaneously. Their hands brushed. Ren's heartbeat surged.

Before he could react, another boy grabbed him from behind. "Hey, buddy!"Finally I found you I know you never leave me The voice startled him, and he stumbled again, papers falling to the floor. He spun around, eyes wide, pulse racing.

Kaito's gaze lingered on him for a moment, icy yet unreadable. Ren could feel his chest tighten. Something about this boy… something about this day… was going to change everything.
