Chapter 2 - Part I – The Contract and the Collision

The Contract CEO's Arrogant Pet: Part I – The Contract and the Collision (Opening)

Chapter One: The Fugitive from the Old World

1. The Betrayal of the Evernight

Yulia Dracula stood on the ancient spire of the tower, the last tendril of moonlight consumed by the gray of the east. The air was thick with centuries of dust, the decay of pine wood, and a scent she deeply detested: the metallic tang of a blood sacrifice.

"I will not marry that old relic," she whispered to the heavy, iron-studded oak door behind her.

To escape the political marriage arranged by her family—a decrepit vampire Count who controlled vast ancient financial networks—Yulia chose to betray the Evernight. Clutched in her hand was a venerable family heirloom: a pocket watch engraved with cryptic runes. It was not only proof of her lineage and a stabilizer for her power but also the symbol of her definitive break from the clan.

Her cloak was thick, dark purple velvet, billowing in the wind. She wore it in accordance with the family's most ancient "combat ritual"—she was convinced that in the Human World, only the heaviest, most complicated attire could convey aristocratic authority and resolve.

"They say the Human World is a 'magical void,' filled with 'noisy boxes' and 'glowing illusion screens,'" Yulia muttered, taking a deep breath. There was none of the cold, earthen night air she was accustomed to, only a dry scent of tar and rust that stung her nostrils.

She activated the heirloom. A powerful magical hum resonated from the watch—her final attempt to disrupt the ancient spell matrix of the castle.

"Farewell, decaying glory."

Yulia leaped, briefly unfurling her wings, only to swiftly retract them. She had to land awkwardly, like a human, onto a massive canvas-covered cargo carriage she had chosen—the only way to maintain a low profile and evade the family guards' pursuit.

2. The Subway Station's 'Magic Stele'

She spent an entire night hiding in carriages and abandoned warehouses, finally reaching the heart of the Human World—"Imperial City"—just as the sun rose.

Daylight was lethal to her. Yulia scrambled into a massive underground passage that hummed with a regular rhythm, lined with glowing symbols she couldn't comprehend.

"Is this the lair of a demon?"

She spotted a machine glowing with blue light—a subway ticket dispenser. A line of humans stood before it, inserting cards and coins, in exchange for small paper slips.

Yulia concluded this was the "Magic Stele" her intelligence had described, used by humans to activate "spacetime displacement arrays."

She approached the machine, reached into her cloak, and pulled out a few privately hoarded ancient silver coins. Engraved with the vampire family crest, a single coin was worth an entire city in her world.

She tried to insert a coin into the machine. "Drip—Please use legal tender," a cold electronic voice stated.

"What? Are you demanding blood from me?" Yulia's brow furrowed. She cautiously retrieved a backup vial of blood serum from beneath her cloak and tried to drip it into the coin slot.

"Machine error, please contact staff."

A young woman behind her snickered softly, capturing the scene on her phone.

Yulia's pride and awkwardness flared. She felt the surrounding humans were staring at her with "contempt."

"How dare you low-level creatures mock an ancient noble!" she hissed, activating her heirloom.

Instantly, the phones of everyone within a ten-meter radius went black, emitting a sharp static buzz. The ticket machine screen flickered and began displaying corrupted code.

Yulia lifted her chin, believing her "Awe Magic" had stunned the crowd. In reality, people simply grumbled, "The signal is being jammed by that weird thing over there again," and quickly walked around her.

3. Energy Thirst and the Lost Noble

Fleeing the crowded subway, Yulia walked on the sidewalk. The sun was high, and despite applying the family's ancient sunscreen salve, her body felt hot and weak.

Hunger. It was an unbearable sensation.

Her vampire energy was draining faster than anticipated. She suspected the surrounding "noisy, glowing boxes" were consuming her magic.

She looked at the passersby. Every human radiated a "tempting, fragile aura."

"No," she gritted her teeth, repeating the family's decree. "No unnecessary killing, no exposure."

She had to find a discreet, quiet place with abundant energy to rest.

She targeted a building that "looked unassuming, without too many glowing illusion screens"—a 24-hour convenience store.

It was a grave mistake.

Inside the convenience store, the lights were bright, and the air conditioning was blasting. Yulia, like a disoriented bat, quietly slipped into the store. She decided to observe the Human "feeding ritual" to find a way to replenish her energy.

Unbeknownst to her, this choice would completely change her life. For behind the counter stood a man in a cheap uniform, wearing black-rimmed glasses, diligently working on the electronic register—Lu Chen.

Chapter Two: The Contract at the Convenience Store

4. The 'Defenseless Servant' Behind the Counter

Lu Chen, the young CEO of the Empire's largest multinational financial conglomerate, "Aethel Group," was currently laser-focused on the register before him.

He wasn't merely 'working.' This was his unique way of "experiencing life" and "evading pursuit." The safest place was often the most ordinary and bustling one. His actual phone, encased in military-grade encrypted alloy, was locked in a back locker.

Suddenly, the electronic screen of the register began to flicker and emit static.

"Damn it, another malfunction?" Lu Chen frowned.

From a distance, Yulia's eyes sharpened.

The information she gleaned was: "This weak human is being attacked by the illusion screen of an electronic demon!" She saw the glowing screen trembling under Lu Chen's control, and sweat beaded on his forehead (actually due to the strong AC).

"How fragile he is! He is struggling against the monster with all his might!" Yulia's protective instincts surged. As a noble, she was obliged to defend a weak, innocent mortal.

5. Shattering the Barrier: The Forced Rescue

Yulia couldn't stand seeing the "struggling hero" suffer. She decided to act.

"Lowly electronic demon, begone!"

She raised the pocket watch heirloom to her chest, urging her remaining energy. Her goal: to completely smash the electronic demon's barrier!

However, she didn't target the register, but the automatic door sensor on the side of the counter. In her mind, it was the largest, brightest-glowing "illusion core."

A potent psychic shockwave, mixed with ancient runic energy, instantly surged toward the target.

—CRASH!

There was no huge explosion, but the automatic door sensor and the surrounding glass panels instantly shattered, sending out a shower of glass shards and a screech of breaking components. The store lights flickered twice, then returned to normal.

A deathly silence fell over the entire convenience store.

Lu Chen put down the register screwdriver, looked up, and saw Yulia standing amidst a pile of broken glass and garbled electronics. Her cloak was lifted by the fan, her eyes resolute and arrogant, like a triumphant Valkyrie.

"You are saved," Yulia stated to Lu Chen in a deadly serious tone.

Lu Chen: "..."

6. The CEO's Hidden Button and the Contract Signing

Lu Chen quickly scanned the scene: a shattered automatic door, a terrified night-shift clerk, and a woman standing in the wreckage radiating intense power.

His CEO "crisis management instinct" instantly activated. He calmly bent down and, with the tip of his shoe, quietly pressed a hidden emergency button beneath the counter—this wasn't to call the police, but to notify his private security team to rush in and "clean up the mess" at top speed.

He looked up, replacing his harmless black-rimmed glasses, and offered Yulia a standardized "post-trauma fear" expression.

"A-are you... an angel? You saved me?" Lu Chen's voice trembled slightly, his acting worthy of an Oscar.

Yulia was extremely satisfied with his reaction. She retracted her power, approached him, and said with an unquestionable aristocratic tone:

"You are safe now. But your home is filled with these 'electronic demons,' and you are too weak to survive alone. From this moment, you must accept my lifelong protection."

She retrieved the ancient parchment contract from inside her cloak, written in the old vampire language: "Lifetime Servant Contract: Party A Yulia, Party B Signature."

"Sign this. This is the contract for you to be my lifelong servant, in exchange for permanent safety."

Lu Chen took the parchment, which was covered in incomprehensible ancient runes. He stifled a laugh, pretended to carefully decipher it, and then, with his steel pen—worth millions and engraved with Aethel Group's top-secret insignia—he signed his name beneath Party B:

"Lu Chen."

Yulia nodded, pleased. "Very well. Servant, take me to a place free from sunlight and noisy boxes. From today, I shall protect you."

Chapter Three: The Reverse-Dominant Cohabitation

7. The Noble's Gloomy Abode

Yulia "dominantly" chose a basement in an old city residential building as their residence—"No windows, no noise, perfect!"

Lu Chen's private team had already arrived to clean up and set up: the shattered glass was replaced with steel plates (Yulia believed this was the result of her power's deterrence), and the basement was neatly arranged, though Lu Chen intentionally placed a flickering oil lamp in a corner to suit Yulia's "noble preference."

"Servant, is this your 'domicile'? It is truly too modest," Yulia said with a tone of condescension, yet she was extremely satisfied with the windowless environment.

Lu Chen humbly replied, "Yes, Mistress. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, perfect for hiding from danger."

8. The Vampire's 'Parenting' Manual

After cohabitation began, Yulia's "reverse-dominance" and "Vampire-style parenting" became Lu Chen's greatest challenge.

Challenge 1: Forced Blood Transfusion

Yulia believed humans required regular supplements of high-purity blood. Every day, she would acquire the freshest blood bags from her secret channels (likely unwittingly breaking into a blood research institute) and demand Lu Chen drink them.

"This will prolong your fragile lifespan by at least a century!" Yulia commanded.

Lu Chen could only sneakily pour the blood bags down the kitchen drain, then pretend to have a "rosy, healthy complexion."

Challenge 2: The Daytime Wardrobe

Yulia was convinced sunlight was "a deadly poison for weak humans." Every morning, she would use ancient white wax to seal all door cracks, then force Lu Chen to hide in the wardrobe.

"Remaining in the wardrobe for 12 hours is the most esteemed protection we can offer you!"

Lu Chen, as a busy CEO, had to remotely manage multi-billion dollar business decisions inside the wardrobe using his encrypted phone, all while enduring Yulia's "daily patrols."

Challenge 3: The Nightly Vigil

Yulia believed "sleep equals death." Every night, she would light an ancient alchemical candle by Lu Chen's bed—the heavy smoke from this candle had demon-repelling effects, but to a modern human, it was practically a gas attack.

Lu Chen suffered insomnia from the smoke but had to feign the sweet sleep of "one under angelic protection."

9. The CEO's Inner Monologue and the First Flutter of the Heart

Though tormented, Lu Chen never exposed Yulia.

CEO's Inner Monologue: "This woman can trigger an alarm at my core data center in one second, yet she thinks I need to hide in a wardrobe. She worships a multi-million dollar surveillance camera as a 'glowing crystal ball' for warding off demons. She is a miracle."

During one instance when Yulia was "exorcising demons" for him (actually fumigating cockroaches with ancient spices), Lu Chen looked at her focused, earnest, yet awkward profile, and his sense of profound loneliness was suddenly replaced by warmth.

He realized: in a world where everyone only valued his "CEO" identity, only Yulia, this noble from the Evernight, genuinely saw him as a "weak human who needed her protection."

Her arrogance was innocence; her awkwardness was endearing.

For the first time, Lu Chen felt that "playing the servant" wasn't a disguise but an unprecedented form of relaxation. He began to enjoy being "reverse-dominated" by her.

Chapter Four: Network Collapse and the CEO's Cold Edge

10. The Fuse of the Crisis

One afternoon, Yulia tried to help Lu Chen with "work" (actually attempting to exorcise all "electronic demons" from his computer).

She placed her ancient pocket watch (the heirloom) next to Lu Chen's laptop and began chanting an old vampire incantation toward the screen.

"All glowing evil spirits, heed the command of the ancient Dracula lineage, retreat from this weak human's matrix!"

Halfway through the incantation, the energy wave from the pocket watch violently resonated with the internal microwave signals of the computer.

Instantly, the screen went black, flickered, and emitted a burnt smell. Worse, this energy directly penetrated the basement, affecting one of Aethel Group's data backup centers nearby.

The alarm on Lu Chen's encrypted watch sounded shrilly.

11. The CEO's Aura and Instant Suppression

The harmless "servant" expression on Lu Chen's face vanished instantly. The eyes beneath his black-rimmed glasses now emitted a cold, sharp light.

"Yulia, stay where you are. Don't move," his voice was deep, carrying the unmistakable authority of a ruler.

Yulia was stunned by the sudden aura—a human power she had never witnessed.

Lu Chen grabbed his hidden encrypted phone with lightning speed, his fingers flying across the screen.

"Activate Protocol B, lock the data stream. Isolate! Isolation must be complete within one minute!" he issued concise, decisive commands into the phone, as if commanding a military operation.

Yulia only saw him roar coldly at the "magic box," and then the red light on the computer screen instantly died down. The crisis, just moments before millions of dollars in data were about to crash, was instantly averted.

12. The Clumsy Cover-Up and the Noble's Pride

Lu Chen put down the phone, took a deep breath, and the cold expression on his face instantly melted back into fear and helplessness.

He put back on his "servant" mask and offered Yulia a groveling smile.

"Mistress, what were you doing just now?" Yulia asked, her eyes full of curiosity and a hint of unease.

Lu Chen pointed at the scorched laptop, pretending to be terrified:

"Oh dear, Mistress, I was just playing a new mobile game—'CEO Simulator.' I pressed an 'Instant Speed-up' button, hoping my game character would instantly become the world's richest man. And well, it threw a tantrum."

A flash of aristocratic pride crossed Yulia's face.

"See? I told you these electronic boxes are untrustworthy. But worry not, servant. Those evil noises were just now suppressed by my incantation."

She believed her ancient magic had saved Lu Chen and was quite pleased with herself. Lu Chen looked at her clumsy confidence, shook his head helplessly, yet a doting smile curled on his lips.

"It seems I'll have to keep playing the role of the weak human for a little while longer."
