The World is different now; wormholes and the Universe have changed significantly. The Knowledge Vault's recalculations were hampered by insufficient energy, leading to some awkwardness, and only a tiny bit of progress has been made these past few days.
Fortunately, after today, things will be different!
The energy source has been found, and the Knowledge Vault can be officially activated!
Lu Chen gently pulled on the tree-like structure in front of him with both hands.
The structure magnified, and a star map of the solar system and its surroundings within seventeen light-years appeared before Lu Chen's eyes.
Of course, it was a miniature and virtual projection.
There were many stars here, but few were suitable.
Only one!
Unlike what Lu Chen had previously thought, the Celestial Computer within the Knowledge Vault also had certain requirements for the star itself; not just any star would do.
Coupled with Lu Chen's own requirements, the number of suitable stars nearby became quite limited.
After searching for days, only one had been found.
At this moment, that one was before Lu Chen.
The size of a fingernail, it slowly released light and heat within a galaxy, ravaging the surrounding Planets.
Unlike the harmonious relationship between Earth and the Sun, due to its violent nature, this star was not friendly with the surrounding Planets; the surfaces of nearby Planets were almost entirely lava, with occasional volcanic eruptions.
Even Planets further away had surfaces that were entirely desert, barren and devoid of any signs of life.
According to the Knowledge Vault's calculations, Dark Dimension data search, and analysis, there was no possibility of any life propagating within the next hundred thousand years.
Lu Chen looked at the star in front of him, waved his hand to make all the surrounding celestial bodies and galaxies disappear, then left that one star before him, and pulled again with both hands.
The star magnified!
The fingernail-sized star became a three-meter-diameter sphere, emitting red light in front of Lu Chen.
This star had prominent titanium oxide molecular bands and strong metal lines, while its hydrogen lines were relatively weak, causing the star itself to be red and have a lower temperature, around four thousand degrees Celsius!
Its overall lifespan was approximately over two hundred billion years!
Quite good!
After Lu Chen was reasonably satisfied, he began to calculate how long this star could keep the Knowledge Vault running.
Soon, a number appeared in Lu Chen's mind.
"Fifteen years? And that's not even at full power, for calculating certain things or for the energy needed for some research? Are you sure you're real?"
Lu Chen felt the data in his mind and couldn't help but curse.
A star with at least tens of billions of years of lifespan remaining could only supply the Knowledge Vault for fifteen years of normal operation?
Was it indeed an energy guzzler?
Lu Chen gritted his teeth for a long time, suppressing the urge to curse.
Thinking about it that way, perhaps the Qiankun was better!
Although its computational power was slightly inferior, it consumed less energy; a star of roughly the same caliber could last for hundreds of years, excluding some more specialized research projects.
"Alas, lower computational power also has its advantages!"
Saying this without much self-awareness, Lu Chen began to delve into deeper matters.
Lu Chen found the Engine data that came with the Knowledge Vault, then used the previously reserved energy to load this data.
Lu Chen could control it himself, but it often required pre-setting specific target directions and constant monitoring; for research, he would even have to keep a constant eye on it.
Lu Chen needed an Engine to slightly manage the operation of the Knowledge Vault and free himself from these tasks!
Not long ago, Lu Chen found such an Engine in the Knowledge Vault that could be used.
However, the Engine's operation would burden the Knowledge Vault's computational power, and the Knowledge Vault could only maintain minimum operation before, so it couldn't be loaded.
Now that a star existed, it could be utilized to some extent.
"Engine loaded!"
From within the Knowledge Vault, a mechanical voice transmitted.
Lu Chen closed his eyes and felt the Engine's operational status, discovering that this Engine truly wasn't running well.
The Knowledge Vault's current state was very bad for it.
"Activate Knowledge Vault normal operation mode!" Lu Chen said without hesitation.
"Knowledge Vault normal operation mode activated. Knowledge Vault begins normal operation. Warning: Insufficient energy detected!"
I knew it!
PS: Uh, the psychological comfort I sought didn't come, but my drawing did, which is a small comfort. Finally, I have a drawing!
Chapter 13: Damnable
Lu Chen was not at all surprised by the warning that appeared within the Knowledge Vault!
If there had been sufficient energy, Lu Chen wouldn't have had this trouble!
"Extract information from the star in front of me!" Lu Chen said unhurriedly.
"Extracting energy information from the star. Extraction complete!"
After the mechanical voice quickly appeared, clearer information and data, including coordinates and energy levels, appeared one by one and entered Lu Chen's mind.
Although the Engine now controlled the Knowledge Vault, Lu Chen was the Master of the Knowledge Vault, a god-like existence within it; all information would automatically appear in Lu Chen's mind.
Lu Chen had known this for a long time and was still not surprised, merely saying:
"Open the Dark Dimension channel, open the furnace, define the energy source—this star in front of me—and perform information docking!"
As Lu Chen's voice fell, the mechanical voice also sounded.
"Command confirmed. Opening Dark Dimension channel. Dark Dimension channel opening!"
In an instant, a star, seemingly identical to the virtual projection in front of him, appeared in the distance from Lu Chen, emitting some light within the Knowledge Vault in the Dark Dimension.
