Chapter 4 - Chapter 5: Luxury

After all the drama and finally making some kind of peace with the System (for now, anyway), Yuri suddenly had a ton of free time. She was just standing there in the middle of the living room, checking out the apartment where the original owner lived. Holy cow, it was huge! We're talking over 200 square meters in Gangnam-gu, which is like, one of the richest parts of Seoul. The whole place felt super fancy the second you walked in. It had pure white walls that seriously popped against the cool purple and black designs. Definitely modern, but still really classy.

Her eyes were practically bugging out staring at everything. That huge, curved sofa looked like something straight out of a 5-star hotel lobby. The paintings on the walls were all bright and crazy, and seriously, even the mug she was holding felt expensive. She'd never been this close to such fancy stuff before, not in her old life, nope.

Super curious, she whipped out her phone and scanned the sofa. The price popped up: it was from a collection called 'Rochebobois,' and a 3–4 seater was worth over eleven million KRW! But hers looked even better, like it was custom-made and probably even pricier.

Gulp.

Yuri's heart did a little flip. She took a slow step back, trying really hard not to spill her tea all over the fancy couch. Her mind was totally spinning, imagining what it would be like to live this lavish life full of art and luxury she'd only ever dreamed about.

[Ask the host to adjust to the former body's lifestyle and leave the poor mentality in the previous life.]

"I can't help it! And technically, she's still in debt! If I can't get the cash, I could totally sell everything in this house, so I don't wanna mess up the goods," Yuri snapped back, not even a little bit ashamed.

She walked over to the giant windows that went from the floor right up to the ceiling. Outside, the early afternoon sun was making the Daechi-dong district shine under the bright sky. The city looked totally alive, with cars zooming around and people hustling.

The sun felt warm in the room. Through the crystal-clear glass, she could see a mix of tall buildings and little parks stretching out forever. The streets were buzzing with energy, but from up here, it felt super calm and peaceful, like the whole city was just taking a quick breather.

Standing there, she realized this place wasn't just comfy or expensive; it was like a poster for the life she could have. She walked back and basically sank into the pricey sofa. Facing her was a huge TV wall, and across from it, a built-in cabinet was carved out like a mini-museum. Inside, trophies and certificates glowed under soft lights, awards like the "People's Choice Award 2011" and "Most Influential Artist 2012," stuff only the biggest streamers get.

To the left of the living room was a professional singing studio. Lately, the original Yuri had been using it a lot to write new songs. But before all the bad stuff happened, when she was still famous, she barely used it. She was always flying somewhere or busy with work and concerts. Honestly, the airplane and the nanny car probably felt more like home than this apartment did.

The house was nice overall, though. It had a chill vibe that made it feel like a real home. But now, everything was about to change. That thought made Yuri, who had been pretty calm, start to get all worked up again.

"I haven't even had a chance to enjoy any of this, and it's about to be taken away! Poor me!" she whined out loud. She knew the bank was gonna auction the house to pay off debts, and the thought just made her heart drop.

"Those heartless jerks better not cross my path, or they'll be sorry," she mumbled, stomping off to the utility room. She grabbed a broom and a mop because she needed to clean up the puke that had just been left behind. Phew, at least it wasn't on the sofa, she felt like she'd seriously die a second time if it was. She gave the original owner a little credit for keeping the place so clean. Even the leftover takeout boxes and trash were all packed up neatly.

Now that she knew the house better, Yuri quickly fixed the messy sofa cushions. Done with that, she scrolled through the original owner's phone to see if she missed anything. Yep, she totally did.

(Sorry, I feel like I can't hold on. Sorry, sorry. I'm not fostered. I'm not married, please believe me, please.)

This desparate message was sent to Sister Dan, Yuri's main agent. The original owner was seriously about to lose it, even thinking about suicide after feeling completely dumped by her management company. She was drowning in debt and had nobody to turn to. She was terrified that her problems would just hurt her siblings and her aunt's family.

"Those damn capitalists are basically ruining people silently, killing without blood, and it's so hard to make them pay for it," Yuri said, sounding totally ticked off. Her brain was racing as she tried to make a quick plan to save herself from this whole mess.

Yuri knew she had to bring back the original owner's fame and get back everything she lost, not just for her, but to make her own dream from her past life happen. The first step was clear: get enough star coins to unlock rewards and get new skills that might help her turn things around.

Looking at the system's list again, she saw those weird options: hangovers, drinking, eating spicy food, and farting...

"What a ridiculous way to earn coins, but whatever, I don't have a choice," she sighed, feeling kinda embarrassed. Still, these were the only ways to earn her star coins, and she had to start somewhere.

Even though the tasks were awkward, Yuri's determination got way stronger.
