Absol was incredibly fast; in the blink of an eye, it caught up to the group of Ekans.
Meanwhile, Sandslash, maintaining its spinning form, followed closely at high speed.
"Ssshh!"
Seeing Absol and Sandslash approaching, the Ekans at the rear turned, flicking their forked tongues and adopting threatening stances.
But what they received in response was the figure of Sandslash, wrapped in the Rock-type energy of the move Rollout.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Like bowling pins falling, the Ekans attempting to block the path were brutally flung away by Sandslash's Rollout.
"Come on, Cacturne, Shellder, Meltan, and Trapinch!"
When Absol stopped, Ethan Black jumped off its back, shook his head, and released all his Pokémon.
As soon as they appeared, without needing orders, they began using their best moves: Magical Leaf, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, and Gust swept the field, sending Ekans flying.
"Ssshh!"
In the middle of the group, the lead Arbok let out a low, annoyed roar.
Then, suddenly, it expelled a cloud of poisonous gas that slowly spread across the battlefield.
In the next instant, the Ekans began sniffing, and to Ethan Black's surprise, they absorbed the poison into their bodies.
"Ssshh!"
Immediately, many Ekans began writhing on the ground, letting out screams of pain.
"What's happening?"
"Does the lead Arbok want to kill its own pack?"
Ethan Black was stunned, not daring to enter the poisonous cloud. He decided to wait for reinforcements to take them out safely as a group.
As time passed, the screams grew louder and more chaotic.
"This is... what the hell?"
Suddenly, Ethan Black went pale: the Ekans and the Arbok that had inhaled the poison began changing from a purple hue to deep black, and a dark liquid started oozing from their bodies, falling to the ground with a corrosive sound.
"Ssshh!"
Seeing this, the lead Arbok let out an excited whistle and, without hesitation, began swallowing the Ekans one by one.
With each one it devoured, its purple glow intensified, releasing a terrifying wave of poisonous energy that weighed heavily on the surroundings.
"It can't be... this Arbok can strengthen itself by devouring its own companions!"
Ethan Black realized the severity of the situation: if he let it continue growing, it would become uncontrollable.
"Sandslash, Cacturne, Shellder, Meltan, Shuckle, and Trapinch, get ready!"
He could no longer wait. He ordered his entire team to act immediately to eliminate the lead Arbok.
"Sandslash, use Sandstorm!"
"Shuckle, provide support with Acupressure and Helping Hand!"
"Cacturne, use Ingrain! I need you to control the field."
"Meltan, distract Arbok with your body!"
"Shellder and Trapinch, clean the poison from the ground with your moves!"
In perfect coordination, his Pokémon moved and began executing their attacks.
Soon, the sandstorm rose, covering the entire field under Sandslash's control.
Meanwhile, Cacturne extended ten thick roots from the ground, infusing them with Grass-type energy until they glowed like green jade.
Shuckle, for its part, channeled all its energy to further reinforce Sandslash.
Feeling the power coursing through its body, Sandslash let out a roar and left deep marks in the ground with its claws.
"Good job. Here, eat something."
Ethan Black petted Shuckle's yellow head and gave it some berries to restore energy.
"All right, it's time... Sandslash, Meltan, attack!"
Both nodded and charged at the enemy.
The sandstorm continued to batter the lead Arbok, burying the fallen Ekans' bodies.
Under the sandy conditions, Sandslash's Sand Rush ability drastically increased its speed—not double, but almost. Combining this with Rapid Spin, it propelled itself with incredible power, appearing in front of Arbok in an instant with Metal Claw ready.
This time, the lead Arbok did not retreat: it counterattacked with Poison Tail.
BOOM!
The clash of both moves generated an explosion of energy. But unlike before, this time Sandslash was the one sent flying.
After devouring so many of its kind, the lead Arbok had transformed into a fearsome serpent king, breaking its own limits and reaching a new level of power.
